"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

We are actually doing the Florence and Michelangelo tour just so we can go into the Academie to see the real David. I'm going to wait and hear what the 2nd cruise group has to say before I make any decisions. The first group had an Italian holiday to deal with, so I'm hoping the city won't be so crowded for us!

Hi; Seeing David is one of the reasons we decided to go with the private tour, that and visiting Pisa.

Hi
I am Janet "jmsaunders75" and my DH and I are interested in the Florence
and Pisa tour. I have been trying to get the tour but all booked up. Do you
have any more room for the tour you have arranged? Please bear with me
I am hoping this gets to you. I am new to the disboards so I am having
a hard time remembering how I even get to where I am now. I hope I can
even find your reply. Thanks

Hi Janet; I am so sorry as a family of 4 will share the tour with us, Deb T. If you know of 4-6 other persons, maybe Paolo can set something up. Let me know if you like the email address.

We will see you in Barcelona at dinner the night before!

Denise,

Have a safe flight and a great time in Greece. See you on "our" ship in a few weeks!

We made it to Greece! Many, many weather delays because of New York. Flights changed/cancelled and now here we are in Athens with NO luggage! Hope people don't mind seeing one outfit all the time but I will :laundy: it daily!

see you all soon,

getting nervous with all the weather delays from Newark airport this past week - we leave July 6 at 5:30 and stop at Frankfurt with only hour to catch the connecting flight to Barcelona - we booked thru DCL so I'm hoping they will make sure we make it the ship in time!

has anyone done the Day on the Farm excursion in Palermo?

Not worrying yet, just a little anxious. :rolleyes1

I'm leaving a week before the cruise, and my TA assured me (as did DCL) that if they don't arrive, I can get everything from the Disney desk at my Hotel, as I'm staying at one of the Disney preferred hotels. Both stated that if you have done everything online, just bring your signed contracts, and they can give me my luggage tags and Key to the World (I think that's what they call them) card at the hotel. Hope this helps.

Wow ... I can't believe I'm leaving in two weeks!!!!!

Oh yeah, Denise ... if you are reading this, have a great time, and get off your computer and enjoy the trip :rotfl2: I want to hear all about it !

OK, OK I will stay off the computer!
still looking for our luggage. Hint for all you still at home. DO NOT pack each persons items in seperate suitcases. Pack some in each suitcase. that way you will at least have some things to wear....DD suitcase came and she has all her stuff. DH has about 80% of his stuff. I have nothing!! still waiting for 3 cases to come....maybe then we will begin to have fun....?
I asked for disney to send my docs here in Athens so we will see if they come...
It is hot here and only going to get hotter.
I will have the internet for one week...
talk to you all later.

I do very :sad2: with names so I will be happy to put together some name tags (just the sticker kind) for everyone. I will use the list as posted on the first page so please ensure that Jeff (Monstro) gets your family's names and I would like to include where you live, so make sure he has that info as well.

I have a game using the name tags as an ice breaker. Here is the game: My family will be wearing our name tags, if you see us, come up and introduce yourself and we will give you your name tag(s). BUT we will also give some (or all) of the other DIS'ers name tags to you. So now, DIS'ers that are looking for their name tags will have to introduce themselves to you and us in order to find their name tags. We may have them or you will. Now we pass on to them some (or all) of the other DIS'ers name tags. This way, new comers have to meet more and more people (unless they are very lucky) to find their name tags. I thought this would be a fun way to meet one another.

I will start working on the name tags in a couple of days and will set June 27th as a deadline for updates.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Sounds good John.

Thanks for taking the time to do all the name tags.

Anyone else changing excursions after reading Med reviews? We are more than likely going to change 4 and do them on our own instead. I'm waiting to see one more round of reviews from the current 10 dayers. The ones we are probably changing are Palermo for kids (heard the crafts are too hard, puppet show was a bit violent);Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri for Families (I'm really scared of the jet foil after hearing of the sea sick passengers) and the 2 train rides in Marseille and Nice. We will probably just take the shuttle into town and take the train on our own since that seems like a much cheaper route. We are probably going to take a taxi to Pompeii instead. In Palermo, we will also probably do a taxi or hop on/off bus.

Hi John .. That would be great .. Do you mean June 27 as the deadline? On July 27, I'll be back at work wishing I could turn back time !!!!

We got our Docs yesterday. We leave in just 2 weeks. Still have atleast a hundred things to do on my pre-trip list.

Sounds good John.

Monstro's family and mine have talked about the Family trip to Capri. Sounds like everyone could get sea sick. We decided to cancel and do it on our own minus the jet foil ride.

Congrats on getting your documents, Keith! I figured they ought to start arriving any day now! I can't wait to get mine! :goodvibes

Danielle - we recently cancelled two DCL excursions, partly based on initial reviews and partly because we are getting braver about setting out on our own after reading how easy it's been for others. We cancelled Pisa last week because we've joined Din and his family on a private tour of Florence and Pisa. This morning,we cancelled Palace of the Popes and Les Baux in Marseille because we decided we could see everything we'd like on our own. We're doing a private tour of Rome with Shercara and her family, too, but that was arranged before we could book excursions with DCL. We're also thinking about cancelling Mondello Beach in Palermo and just getting our own taxi to and from there. That leaves us with just three DCL excursions: the Mt. Vesuvius Hike and Pompeii in Naples, Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, and Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze in Villefrance.

Denise - wow, so sorry to hear your luggage is awol. I sure hope it arrives soon! We've decided to do a carry-on for each of us with several changes of clothes and anything else we'll need for the first few days, and then check one big suitcase with everything else. We're flying straight into BCN, so we don't have the luggage restrictions that other people are encountering with flying through other European airports.

Speaking of airports - Lyn, I'm sending lots of Pixie Dust pixiedust: your way that all your flights are smooth and you make all your connections!

John - thanks for doing the nametags! That's awesome! The game sounds fun. I can hardly wait to meet everyone and put faces to names after already becoming friends on these boards! :goodvibes

Just three weeks from tomorrow!!!! :cool1:
