New to the DVC as of this year. Made a reservation for December at our home resort, SSR, but thought we would try to switch to VWL. I know that might be a tough reservation to get but thought I would at least try. My question is...do I need to cancel my reservations at SSR or do I just call and try to reserve VWL? Not exactly sure about the waitlist procedure. Thanks in advance for any info.

Just call and reserve or waitlist. Hold your SSR ressies until you get what you want, then cancel them.

Pay attention to important dates, like end of use year, banking deadlines,etc. and be sure to cancel more than 30 days out so you don't get stuck in holding.

Don't cancel SSR until you get what oyu want at VWL.

Pay careful attention to the cancellation deadlines, etc, so you don't end up with points in holding accounts and whatnot.

We made reservations for a 2BR at BCV with a waitlist for both VWL or BWV. We ended up getting the VWL request within 2 weeks. So, not too bad for us. Hopefully you get the same luck!
