I have a question about ground floor pool view rooms. Can you walk out to the pool from your patio or do you have to walk down the hall and out ? Thanks for any information.:)

No you cannot walk right out, the balcony rail is much to high to hop over. We had a room only about 5 door down to the exit to go to the pool so it was still very quickbad and convient to go to and from the pool. The only downside was there was alot of bushes, so the view was no good.

I think they walk right out but I'm not 100%

I looked at all my photos and this is the only one that almost shows what you're looking for. It appears that they do walk out to the pool.

Thank you Pinkocto :thumbsup2 I have not seen many photos of the ground floor pool view rooms. It looks lush and jungle like !

Ok thank you, it would be nice if you could just walk out the patio but sounds like it wont be that bad walking to the exit door.

I can't even remember seeing any railings, that's too funny.

The pool area is so beautiful, they really did a fabulous job with the landscaping. I'll look through my photos again and see if I have any more.

Wow thanks for posting the photos. It looks so cool :woohoo: I really want to stay there and have for a long time. The cost has been the only problem. I already have a Boma reservation in case we dont switch at least I can go look around when we eat at Boma :thumbsup2

Ohhh!!!!! Seeing all of these photos reminds me how much i love the feel of this resort. I have to stay off of these sites, i am trying to decide between akl or beach club for our august trip and i am changing my mind every other day!!!

Ann, so glad the g'kids are getting better.

Brandi, so glad that David had a good day at his new job. I hope you can take the commute without him.

Pam, thanks for the pictures!

Good Morning! Checked in CL yesterday and am totally in love with the lodge! Staff has been phenomenal and the theming is amazing. I had requested close to the lobby and bunk beds but only the close to lobby part was available -- cm said to check this morning and they would be glad to move us if a bunk bed room opens up (we love the room they gave us though so will be staying put.) Room was ready at c/I at noon. Family enjoyed the lounge while I checked in. Small issue w/phone not working that was quickly fixed. Saw lots of different animals form our balcony yesterday and there was almost always a few in view. Shortly after C/I a CM delivered 4 chocolate giraffes to our room along with a beautiful wood notebook / pen set for dd who just graduated from 8th grade -- this was a really cool surprise! :) We did DTD / Disney Quest yesterday and then stopped for snacks at the lounge (lots of yummy choices, plenty of tables available and very attentative cms tending the food) before heading over to the Magic Kingdom for the Wishes Dessert party. We had the perfect table up front and I was able to see the show/ fireworks fine from the table while the kids stood at the rail. Squeezed in a bunch of rides (all walk on) before closing. All in all a very magical first day and every CM we encountered was fantastic. DH has headed off to golf and I'm getting ready to wake dd's up and head over to MK. Have a WONDERFUL day everyone and THANK YOU for all the fantastic info on this thread that helped me sooooo much to plan this trip!!!

I told my boss I was modifying my schedule, granted I did not ask, I told him I was doing this.... We will see if it works. I told him that I was going to start working from home a couple days each week.

So I am home today, and will commute tomorrow and stay home Friday.... Hopefully he will let me do it.:rolleyes1

stayed at both and love both but for different reasons... Beach Club is my Home resort, and I enjoy being there, especially for events like Food and Wine. But AKV is just so much more relaxing and laid back and enjoyable for me.

Good morning Js & Ks!! :goodvibes

Brandi: I hope that works out for you. Chances are it will! :goodvibes

More and more employers are encouraging their employees to work from home one or two days per week. My daughter's company, an IT recruiting firm, recently started doing this also. I think it's a win-win! :thumbsup2

I hope so... David thinks I might have been to pushy, in just saying this is what I am doing instead of asking, but I am of the philosophy of "It's better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission" sometimes it works... We will see.

...but who's counting.....:teeth:

Heck yeah, I'm counting:rotfl:

3 working days :dance3:
4 days until officially on vacation:yay:
5 days until Kidani:woohoo:

I can't wait, this is gonna be so nice and relaxing a trip:love: I wish it was longer, but it's the best we could do this year.

Hope those of you that are friends w/me on FB will follow along, as I post statuses, and pics:thumbsup2

Is it a long enough trip to do a split stay? That way you could have both :)
