More domes -- should be enough for everyone! ;)

Thought I'd post this picture again, since we've been thinking of our Italian friends Laura & Marco. This was after the Zebra Domes, sampling the breads at Jiko. :cloud9:

...how are Laura'a parents doing? :confused3

...you say that like it's a BAD thing. [think of it as guilt-free calories]

Well, they aren't a bad thing but I'm just a nut who doesn't really like them. I was so-o-o disappointed when I bit into my first one after reading such a build up for them. You know, it's like when a movie or book has such great reviews but then you see it or read it and it doesn't meet expectations. You may call me weird; I won't be offended. Without my eating them you all get to enjoy more;)

Some threads can be checked every so often without getting too confused - not so with this wild bunch :rolleyes2 One constant is the never ending supply of zebra domes.

Laura, I see that you're in my town (for work, I presume) this week. I wonder if I should put a lime green Mickey head on my purse in case we run into each other. No, wait, I don't need to do that - if you see a lady with short white hair with a purple cast on her right arm and hand say hello to me. :)

Kathy, I work for the little university in your town!! ;) They usually have us come to Ann Arbor in January or February (brrrrr!) I am happy that we get to come north in April, but I'm not sure I'm prepared for the cold mornings (30's?)!! I'm hoping the forecast is wrong!

We're in hotel meeting rooms all day. Most of the group (200+) are staying in Ypsilanti (at the hotel where the meeting rooms are). I opted to stay at a hotel by Briarwood Mall. :) I'll be there tomorrow till the next Monday.

I should have said you may call me weird (for not liking Zebra Domes) but don't call my "friends" weird.

I love this close-up shot I snapped on our Wanyama Safari.

You've got a good sense of humor - our little university, hah! Are you at Kensington Court? We're just 2 miles away.

At least we don't have any freeze warnings this week; two nights may dip into the upper 30's though.

I'm at Sheraton this time. I have a fondness for Club Level. :) Love those evening hors d'oeuvres and 'adult' beverages! :cloud9: It makes the many hours spent in stuffy meeting rooms tolerable!! :rotfl: (I'm in an ATL airport Sheraton Club Lounge as I write this!! :thumbsup2)

....wow, what a great shot! And, with AKL in the background too!

Not yet!! That is on my list ... NOW! :flower3:

As you all know I took Bob to visit his old office yesterday. The upshot of the visit is that they have offered him a job that is custom tailored to his present condition: He will work from home with an occasional visit to the office. He has a new laptop and two 24" monitors on their way to us and our dining room will become his office. He will start out at only 10-20 hours per week, on a trial basis (Social Security sets its limits, you know) and we will go from there. They have worked out the pay scale so as not to tip him over one of those limits. He is in much better mental spirits with this change. I am delighted that they know him so well that they knew it was time. :goodvibes

That is fantastic news.

I am sorry to read about Laura's troubles. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Corinna

Happy Sunday to everyone! :sunny:

Good to see the boards back up today even if things are a bit wonky on them. I am not getting e-mail alerts.....anyone else having that problem?

I posted on here yesterday afternoon shortly before the boards went down. The post seems to have vanished....:confused3 I have read posts today that I did not see yesterday. Either I am losing it big time or they just didn't appear for me.

Y'all be kind now telling me if I am losing it! I would rather hear it from my DIS buddies than my husband. :rotfl:

Elin, I am so very happy to hear that Bob is returning to work. He must be excited. Congratulations to you both!

Laura, Safe travels there in Ann Arbor, enjoy the club level after a hard day of work. :drinking1 It would be fun if you and Kathy Z could meet up while you are there.

I don't know Laura & Marco but send prayers and positive thoughts for them both.

Alison, Glad you made it safely to Vegas. Hope your meetings go well for you.

Wendy, :wave2: Looks like you and Laura are going to both be at WDW at the same time. She leaves in 26 days and your trip is only a couple days after. :woohoo:

Pam, Hope your having a great weekend

Brandi, How you doing? It got cold here the last few days and pixiedust: my allergies went away. I imagine you and David are getting excited about your Las Vegas trip. ::yes::

Johns Mom- Kathy, Hope you are doing great and enjoying retirement in your new sweet home. :)

TyRy,

Kathy Z, Thank you for posting the Sanibel Island pictures. I am heading over there now to enjoy.
I too love the close-up shot during your safari. :thumbsup2

Kim, Good to see you. I miss your....ummm.....humor here. :)

Corinna, Wow, noticed your ticker, only two weeks until your trip. I know your getting excited!

:wave2: Ann!

You must have a great memory! :goodvibes Without quoting, you remembered all those Jamborinis.

It was cool in Central Florida this weekend, but the temps this week will be back in the mid-80s.

:wave2: Hi Ann :) Thank you, hope you had a good one too :) mine was short, had to work Saturday. Hope you have a great week :)

I am totally impressed with Ann's memory;)

I am sorry to hear about Laura and Marco, :grouphug: and prayers for the family.

I was going to say much the same thing, Kathy! Ann always seems to touch each of us in her posts, doesn't she?
