Seven Dwarfs Mine Train -Inside Portion

~Snow White is the highest grossing princess of all time -- almost a billion in revenue and climbing.

Anna and Elsa have surpassed $1 billion in movie ticket sales alone, not to mention $10's of million in sales of the soundtrack plus merchandise selling as fast as they make it.

[
~This may not be the fastest or tallest coaster -- but it's beautiful, innovative, and fun for "everyone" (even you) to enjoy. And, It's almost here. :cool1:

Well said Dr. , it is all of the above. sadly there are some that can't consider anything a E ticket unless its a thrill coaster. There are others that have been trying to tear this attraction apart since it was announced and now that it's is so near and the video and other reports show it to be a E ticket they are unhappy and now are trying to say its short.

They are entitled to their opinions.

I am hoping that all the work, Imagineering and innovation that has gone into this attraction is a sign that Iger and his bean counters have woken up and we can expect the same perfection on the many attractions coming along...

AKK[/QUOTE]

See no one has said that it has to be a thrill coaster to be an E. Not at all. The standards of an E ticket attraction in the theme park industry is more about innovation and overall wow factor than thrill. While the Mine train will have new tech such as the mild swing of the cars, there is bottom line that it is just a well themed family coaster with a small dark ride portion. None of that is new, except for the swing of the mine cars. Is that enough innovation or wow factor to make this ride a true E ticket in terms of industry standards? Most likely no. That however does not mean it will not be popular, well done and a good plus to the park.

People are going to compare this to the Gringotts ride opening at Universal. Because they are two attractions opening in the same time span in the same city. It will happen. And when that comparison happens, the award of E ticket is going to go soundly to Gringotts in terms of innovation and themeing. It will not take anything away from the Mine Train but when they are compared, it will not be a competition. Gringotts will feature a full sized fire breathing dragon on just the facade. It will have live actors and state of the art AA's, a complete recreation of the majestic bank lobby, moving and interactive sets in just the queue line. The ride itself is being considered the most state of art theme park technology created. This is what people are going to consider a true E ticket. That's not even adding in the Hogwarts Express that some industry insiders are calling the "definition of an E ticket attraction".

So when some are not falling over the Mine Train as being this amazing state of art E ticket it's not because of thrill but in comparison to what else is being created in the industry. Disney has created masterpieces, they are still creating stunningly amazing E tickets(just sadly not here in the states) but the Mine Train is not going to be making some huge industry mark in Orlando.

Will it be amazing for families? Yes. Will it be fun? Yes. Will it be a huge plus for MK? Yes. Will it be an industry game changer in any sense of the imagination? No.

I disagree, many have been saying on various threads, including this one has in so many words or out right, if its not a huge thrill ride its not a true E ticket.

HP has been every well done up tp now...I expect it will continue .............Gringotts sounds just like the next Thrill ride. (however I would point out a fire breathing dragon has been done before, as had live action, (Great movie ride) and train is not a train but a trolley on a road bed with video screens in the windows.) I don't see where there is completion, there are very different approaches taken, to each story line. Each approach is suitable to its story line. Ginsgotts is a E ticket and the Mine Train will be in its own rights.

Both have much the same things in there own way. What you feel is what makes Grinotts better is just the *THRILL* or *WOW*part.

The Mine train is a E ticket. It is a prime , state of the art attraction. The theming is amazing, the swinging cars are innovative. The whole design and engineering is E Ticket.

We can agree to disagree............and that fine!

Sorry but if you are comparing Gringotts to GMR then yes we will have to agree to disagree because I can't even fathom that comparison in any non-laughable manner.

You are forever going to be stuck on the thrill ride aspect and nothing no one says will convince you otherwise, which is fine. To each is own. But as someone who has a real inside track on what is going into Gringotts and Hogwarts Express I will say that none of it has been seen or done before.

As I have said that doesn't in anyway take away from the Mine Train but you really can not compare the innovation and wow factor between the two and have Mine Train come anywhere near the top. Again, that doesn't make the Mine Train any less of a great ride or an amazing addition to the MK line up. Will it be an E Ticket for Magic Kingdom? YES. Will it be in comparison to other attractions in the industry? No. And no this is not a Disney vs Universal thing as Disney is an industry leader in E-Ticket creation, it's just that the Mine Train in comparison will not be one of them.

And no, what I think will make Gringotts better has NOTHING to do with thrill and all to do with themeing. The queue alone is a full theme immersion attraction. Dumbing it down to "thrill factor" is unjust and not in anyway factual to what creates it's E Ticket status.

Well you see now. your attacking my opinion (ei non laughable manner) while I have been very polite.

I have been told I am not allowed to say anything remotely like a attack, to anyone, you have me at a disadvantage and I must remain quiet.

I have what I feel is facts and I base my opinion on that.

~Moving along.... you've also said that "the underlying ride is really a kids ride with very low thrills, no top level animatrons." How do you know this? We have yet to see any of the animatronics and I expect them to be top notch, even better than The Little Mermaid Ride.

~Lipstick on a pig? I really don't think so. This is a well built, masterly crafted structure with immense theming & details -- one that you have yet to experience. The cars feature state of art technology as well -- it may not be "Goliath" in terms of thrills but you haven't ridden in one quite like this. The experience will be a unique one.

Oh goodness...I sure hope the animatronics are better than Voyage of the Little Mermaid!! What a let down! We experienced it for the first time this past September, and we were very much underwhelmed to say the least. It's such a shame too, because the outside of the ride and the queue are absolutely gorgeous. And we have a 4 year old princess who is a huge Ariel fan! But the ride itself was *such* a letdown; we thought the animatronics were pretty awful TBH. Even my 4yo DD was like, "That was OK, Mommy. Let's go to the Spooky House (HM) again." :)

So I can definitely see where the lipstick on a pig comparison could potentially come into play. I'm going into our Sept trip with an open mind as far as 7DMT is concerned. If it underwhelms, however, it'll end up on the "skip/do only if SB is super short" list along with Voyage of the Little Mermaid. ;)

They need to do several more rides like this throughout all the parks and not take years to do it. Epcot, the Studios, and Animal Kingdom need more attractions!!!! Forget the bands create more rides.

I just wish they could have done something here WDW like they did with Mystic Manor -
http://youtu.be/vwM2d4Wug4A

now that's an awesome dark ride.

I bet it would give the new Harry Potter stuff a run for it's money! (at least put WDW in the same ball park)

The reason you didn't see the washing of the jewels and the vault in the video is because IT'S NOT PART OF THE RIDE BUT IN THE QUE LINE. :headache:

I watched that video of Mystic Manor recently, and you are right, it is absolutely INCREDIBLE. It makes me really wanna go to Hong Kong....

I have hopes they will be using technology like that when they build Pandora over in Animal Kingdom - it has the potential to look AMAZING. :thumbsup2

Wait why is the transfer track not even close to the station, let alone with how big it is

It's not that far away. And look at the scene C pic and you can tell how long the trains are. It's still turning around bend B and is almost to bend C. They are long. They will most likely store them like shown in the pic below. The trains are the black lines being being stored.

~Hey there Tonka! As usual, you are spot on here! You know I have always been skeptical about Disney's intentions -- but the mine train is looking better and better.

~Another poster made the comment that the mine train was lipstick on a pig and I don't agree with this. I can see that with the mermaid ride -- it has a castle, huge waterfalls, a massive interactive queue and princess meet and greet.

~But, the presence of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train speaks for itself. I love a good coaster and I love the idea of not being entirely enclosed in a damp building and having 25 glaring 3D screens shoved in my face.

~I also appreciate that with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train that there will also be a dark ride aspect. It's really the best of both worlds for me. And, I think it's a world class attraction!

~Also, I just read that the soft opening it March 18th! Can't wait! :yay:

Comparing Mansion to Dwarf Hill is pretty out there, and proof you aren't looking for an honest debate.

-Jason
~I won't deny that you're extremely knowledgeable about coasters and all of the park attractions. However, you do exhibit a certain bias, that's geared specifically toward the "theme." If the mine train was named Haunted Hill and filled with ghosts and mummy's -- I think your opinion would different. :lmao:

Great article! i can't wait to see this!!!!! :cheer2:
~Me, too! :yay:

Anna and Elsa have surpassed $1 billion in movie ticket sales alone, not to mention $10's of million in sales of the soundtrack plus merchandise selling as fast as they make it.
~Yes! You are absolutely correct -- the only reason I didn't include Frozen is because it's so new and still running in the theaters. But, you're right that once you factor in Elsa and Anna -- Snow White is second. :goodvibes

But it has a waterfall! Gringotts doesn't.

-Jason
~LOL. And, grass, flowers, songs, and those diamonds! :cool2:

~Very well said, Tonka. I couldn't believe the high level of detailed craftsmanship that went into the cars alone. It looks amazing and that amazing waterfall and rock work looks like it has been there for ages. :goodvibes

Oh goodness...I sure hope the animatronics are better than Voyage of the Little Mermaid!! What a let down! ~LOL. That's so funny. Your DD sounds so adorable -- I can't believe she's only four and likes the "Spooky House." I'm terrified of the Spooky House. :rotfl:

~I love the The Little Mermaid and I also had mixed feelings about the ride. It's a nice mildly amusing attraction but I couldn't get pass the clammobiles. They're the exact same cars from the Nemo ride. I'm over it now, but I just thought that was so lazy and cheap of Disney. It's not a complex ride to begin with -- so, at least create some distinctive cars for TLM -- maybe Conch Shells or Star Fish or even Forks -- just something different. I'm so glad that you're going in with an open mind! You might be surprised! :yay:

They need to do several more rides like this throughout all the parks and not take years to do it. Epcot, the Studios, and Animal Kingdom need more attractions!!!! Forget the bands create more rides.

DRDISNEYMD was poo-pooing the Universal rides for being as such, then, not surprisingly, praises Disney for doing the same.

THen she calls me biased.

Oh? The mine train has grass, trees and diamonds?

Gringotts has a fire breathing Dragon and all the gold galleons and treasure of the wizarding world.

DRDISNEYMD, Where do you see March 18? Wikipedia shows that but the footnote backing it up just points to the usual Disney Blog which has no date.
