Seven Dwarf Mine Train is WAY over-hyped in my opinion

I think it's a great ride...the animatronics are amazing. And it has just the right amount of thrill factor so that it works for both those who like thrill rides And those who don't.

I wouldn't wait more than 30 mins but that's about my max wait tolerance for any ride.

We rode it with a FP+ when it first opened and we thought it was cute and just OK. We didn't bother with it during our last trip saving our rope drop and FP+ for other things.

I do think that it's perfect for little kids or really anyone that likes a milder ride. It's awfully short though.

I think that it's not TOO overhyped due to the fact that its not as new as it was when it opened a couple years back. It's just a fun, greatly themed ride that's very popular with kids and adult alike, which is the point. Look at the Mountains in Magic Kingdom, they've been around since Disney World opened and yet they at times have waiting times as long as Mine Train.

We rode it on our first trip, a couple of months after it opened, so there was a lot of excitement around it because it was new, but we'd watched the video before we went and so weren't over or underwhelmed either way with it. I enjoyed it, especially the mine, and will try and FP+ it again this time because the waits seem to have stayed high, but I wasn't disappointed.

I love a good smooth coaster, even if it's pretty tame, and I'm looking forward to riding it with my mum next year, who can't do anything even vaguely scary!

But all rides aren't too short. Splash Mtn certainly isn't, nor is Safari, Test Track, Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror or even Expedition Everest. The rides that stand out as being too short are Rock n Roller Coaster, 7 Dwarfs and Peter Pan.

I said almost not ALL. I think Kali River feels especially short & Star Tours doesn't feel very long to me either.... Back in the day Snow White was short....

We got to almost walk on this ride after it has been closed down quite awhile during the first Christmas party last year (Dec 2015). We hadn't been able to get an FP so we figured we'd miss out on riding it. I was not let down at all. It was one of my favorite rides of our entire trip!

Plus, I thought getting the video and ride photos straight to your magic band was pretty amazing as well!

I actually think it's the perfect addition for the location. I love big thrill rides, but I think Mine Train still has many "pros" that make it worth while even though it's tame.

1. It's beautiful. The theming really compliments new fantasyland.
2. It reminds us of classic Disney. Snow White should be represented in the park, and I personally prefer it to the old ride since it combines coaster and show elements.
3. It is SO smooth. Seriously the smoothest coaster I've ever experienced. Space mountain leaves your body feeling out of wack in comparison. It's a painful experience.
4. It has FP+, so no need to wait long. I know it's harder to get, but not impossible. As others have stated, there are very few rides I would wait more than 30 minutes for anyway. And the ride lasts about the same as most coasters.

I don't over hype it, but I think it's great and I make an effort to work it into our plans.

We just got back from wdw we loved the mine train because of the details going through the mine unlike big thunder and space mtn and you only have to be 38 inches to ride we have a 21/2 year old only missed height by an inch he would have loved it

Thankfully we only waited 40 minutes for this ride. But in my opinion, it wasn't worth it. The ride is probably the shortest ride on property. I was disappointed. I feel like they just threw the ride in to alleviate some of the crowds/lines on other rides.

Anyone else disappointed?
barnstormer is shorter

i like it. i think it's pretty cool. not earth shattering, but as a whole it is impressive with it's setup, tech, and train.

oh would love to add how these type of threads take on a life of their own in such a short period of time. lol

You are a couple years late to the party on this.

We went in 2014, but chose to skip it in 2015. DD22 and I agree that there are far better uses for our FP+!

IMO Kali river feels so short because to me there is a blatant lack of direct themeing. I know it's supposed to be a burning rainforest or something.

To me that's what makes 7dmt so much more fun. There is very little down time. You are either coastering or in a show scene virtually the whole time, even while waiting to unload. Now obviously anyone looking for big thrills will be disappointed.

For a Minute I couldn't decide if your son was 21 or 2 or if maybe you had 2 kids....then I figured it out. Lol ;)

I like it. I wouldn't say its my favorite ride, nor would I wait over an hour for it, but I think its definitely worth using a FP+. I think its very well done, especially considering the relatively small footprint it takes.

The first time we rode it we thought it was just o.k. and decided we would probably never ride it again (3 adults). Fast forward to this March, my son and I were there for F&G (he is an adult) so on a whim I booked a FP for it, thinking we would cancel if he didn't want to ride. He was a Navy Corpsman and contracted some viral something while working in the hospital and it migrated to his spine and caused major nerve damage. Thus most coasters are out and even things like the Safari are difficult because of the bouncing and jerking. So he said let's keep the FP and see if it hurts. We loved it the second time, he knew he wasn't going to have to brace too hard and tense up like he does on BTM and yet got a little bit of a coaster feel. We actually paid attention to the little details as we rode, which we didn't do the first time and got off thinking that was fun.

I think that people expected more because it took forEVER to build/open!

LOVE it, have ridden it at least 25 times since it opened. I do remember it taking forever to open and no soft openings and then when they FINALLY opened and released FP+ for it, it took the entire system down even the in park kiosks. Anyways, the animatronics are so good and the Hi Hoooo is awesome. I have never waited standby though, I have only ever had a FP+. If I waited hundreds and hundreds of minutes to ride, I would NOT be satisfied.

I have never been disappointed by it, but then again, I have never waited more than five minutes for it...the beauty of Fastpass!
