Servers On The "wonder"

Had Jacque (female) from Jamaica as server and Chad as asst on the 9/2 Wonder. Oh, they were great, but the head server, Eric, somehow got into a day to day dialogue with my sister in law and we had a BLAST with that whole crew! I would request them again.

For the last two cruises, we have had Richard from Chile. You can find full details in my last two trip reports (http://disneycruise.blogspot.com/), but in short, he was a riot! He and Laszlo are quite the team. We like Katarina from Croatia too, and Rita is our favorite head server.

I took my wife and two daughters in June and we had Witt and Agnes. They were great. They not only served our food but entertained us too. Witt was hilarious with his jokes and tricks that he played on all his people that he waited on. (The ketchp bottle, coffee cup that had nothing in it and spilling it on us) I hope that they are still there when we go back. Looking forward to seeing them again. Witt also took the time to talk to me on deck one morning and asked how the family was doing and knew them by name and he told me about his family which still lives in Thailand.

We had Boulah(sp?) and Matt(New Zealand). Both were attentive, kind, funny and wonderful. My youngest grandson ALWAYS fell asleep at dinner(the last night it was a challenge to see if they could get a bite of food into him before he fell asleep) and they actually made a bed out of two chairs and covered him with a tablecloth. They encouraged my grandaughter to show what a "princess" she was - right up there with Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and made sure that the oldest grandson knew he was very special for all of his self-reservations. I talked to them about there work schedules and was amazed at the hours they had to put in which made me respect them even more. They are one of the reasons I rebooked with Disney. I hope to see them in August and I bet they'll remember us - how do they do what thery do???
Oh yes, sitting at the table right next to us were Siskel and Roper(film critics) and never once did I see them being treated differently then us. In fact, one seating the VIP table requested ours because we had a ocean view and we were late in being seated and our servers couldn't apologize enough for it. And again that is why Disney is worth the extra diollar - if only I knew the people that make the "Magic" were getting some of the pixie dust I'd be so much happier!!!

When we cruised in August we also had Witt from Thailand and he was paired up with Vijay from India. Witt was wonderful, very entertaining and you could tell he loved kids and his job. Vijay was very good also. On the quiet side until he found out I have friends from India and we live very close to his brother.

Looks like a few of us had Witt ! Glad to hear he's still there. He was a big part of why our cruise was so terrific. He played card & napkin tricks with my kids.

We had Alex from Croatia and Dieter from Denmark in April of this year - they were superb and very friendly. I won't mention our head server's name, but we found him to be very pompous and arrogant and we dreaded each time he would come over to our table. We added extra $$ to Alex and Dieter's tip envelopes, but our head server got only the recommended tip.

That's funny, our last servers got at least 3x the recommended tip. The head server, who we also found pompous, arrogant and phony got the recommended tip. Maybe we had the same guy...lol. And then add "grouchy" and "unfriendly" to his list of adjectives for the last day....after he got his tips from everyone.

The team we had in July was absolutely great. I can't remember where they were from but we had Faisal and Ean. I think everyone in our section had great dining experiences because of them and our head server, Nitheen Bhoola.

We, too had Danijel (Croatia) and Fortune (India) and Marcello (Brazil) (Palos). I loved asking them about their countries, and they all really opened up once I began asking. Next time I'm going to take an autograph book and have the CMs sign it with a note about their country, or perhaps "Hello" in their language.

We are leaving in 3 weeks for our first ever cruise. It will be the 3 night Wonder trip. After reading other threads about the servers and other great info for a cruise newbie, I called DCL today with various questions and requested Daniejl and Fortune to be our servers because they had received praise from other DISers. Do they do the napkin tricks, etc. ? We will have 4 kids in our party who will love to be entertained while dining.

The DCL person I spoke to was unsure about the ability to request servers and I told her that I had found out that you could do it per what other DISers had said. She had never heard of the DIS board and was very interested in all that I had learned. I gave her the website info and she said she was going to check it out!

Great idea, bbowers, to have the CMs sign the autograph books with "Hello" in their native language. Yet another valuable piece of info/great idea! Thanks!

we had das on our firstcruise with asst. Hchristina from netherlands both very nice, this past time we had jojo and his asst cant remember name but they were both nice asst was quite joj had lots of tricks for my gs he loved him.

We had JoJo and Noel on the 10/17 Wonder and JoJo was great at entertaining the kids with tricks and napkins!

I have been on quite a few cruises (all on other lines) but I can honestly say that Gede (pronounced good-day) was the best waiter we have had when traveling with the kids. He and his asst. Sara were absolutely wonderful, kind, funny, accomadating, etc. They did magic tricks, charmed my very picky five year old, catered to my 11 year olds (shrimp cocktail every night, etc). I would not hesitate to recommend them and request them again. It was so much fun seeing them every night.

Hey inkkognito, I agree with you! We had Richard and Laszlo last year and they were fantastic. Our DD wants to cruise again just to see them!

OMGosh...is Laszlo back?!!! We had Richard and Laszlo a couple cruises ago but then he left DCL for a while. I loved both of them. I told my DH that Laszlo was going to be my souvenier.
