Seriously! I have to pay twice what my brother pays for WDW!

So if your brother and SIL were visiting and wanted to take you and your dh to WDW--couldn't they book this package and it would include the 4 of you (you, Dh, db, SIL)???

So why can't your brother book 2 rooms? How is this different?

Amy

I am not sure if that's possible. I would check. In the Disney UK website, to book the package, you have to enter all your information, including address, etc. If you have a US address, it probably wouldn't take it.

Added later: I missed the 2 rooms part of your post before. I guess he can reserve 2 rooms and do that, but we want a package, would they allow one person reserving for 8 people?

One question... Does it allow him to use his address and book two packages...I mean what if there were 8 people in his family and he needed 2 rooms?
As a DVc member I can book more than one room for my guests using my points and they get all the same priviledges that I get (as long as I have enough points)

Not sure. Hopefully, he can do that. I have never stayed in a DVC resort, so I didn't know you could do that.
We took my parents to WDW and had 2 rooms back in 2004. One for the 4 of us and one for my parents. I had to make 2 reservations. One for us (with our address) and one for them (also used my address - remember the pin code for my mom in the earlier post). Anyway, I don't recall exactly what I did but I think we had two reservations.

What if you all stayed together in a 2BR villa or a Treehouse villa? Then your brother could buy the whole package including the tickets and free dining for everyone, correct? Maybe that's too much togetherness for you, but my sister and I and our two families (7 kids between us) have split accommodations before with no problem. Just another idea.

Yes, that is too much togetherness for me :lmao: but, it is better than paying over 10K. That's a great idea. I'll check for these options too.

Btw, if he prices out a 2 bedroom lock-off there would be a door you could shut between his room and your room and you would both have external doors so you could treat it as 2 rooms if you liked. Still sleeps 8 people, would be under his name, plus you'd have a kitchen and laundry ...

never realized Disney did this. Kinda seems unfair to us Americans.

What about the die-hard Canadians? We NEVER get deals like that. In fact, we rarely get the same deals the Americans get. I travel from Western Canada, WDW is 3300 miles away. London, UK is 4000 miles away. We travel far distances too to get to WDW and we usually stay for 2 weeks. We don't go for short periods of time....its not worth it because we waste 2 days just for travel. Because Disney doesn't offer us deals like this, we have to choose to stay offsite. Every now and then we get 25% off hotels, but still, we get nothing like the UK groups do.

There is a lot more to this than the OP thinks.
You just have to accept the Disney rules :lmao:
BTW. Disney has different rules for EVERY European country. I can only book from my own country.

I have no idea if it is possible the OP brother does the whole booking but just a little reminder to the OP. look sharp because it is possible to stack up different offers. You can use the free dining with the "pay seven get fourteen" tickets.

It is in part because it costs so much to fly from outside of North America to Orlando. They need to do something to entice visitors from other countries to spend the $$$ for a trip to WDW.

Mmmmmm not so much. A flight across the ocean and back with XXL seats costs 600 Euro pp.

Looking at the prices in the US these are very very high.

Um, that is what I am saying. People from outside of North America spend a small fortune just to fly to WDW. Makes sense to give them some sort of deal on the rest of the trip in order to get them to go to WDW.

BTW, you can also have your brother and his wife each book a room reseervation as they are both UK citizens with basically the same family members except you would sub for his wife - your husband for his wife - , which is similar to what we do when we go cruising with family members that have great FL residency discounts ;)! I hope you have a great time whatever you do with your whole family -

Also, I'm a DVC ownerr and I would definitely check out renting points - and if you can calculate the difference although a little more
confusing to save money at different times of the year pay cash (preferably with a discount code) for Friday and Saturday nights which are basically double the amount of points then have reservations or member services link the reservations together - although you might have to do some 'minor check in/out paperwork but keeping the same rooms - with the bonus of extra room service of towels and trash, beds made, etc..

Hope this gives you some more ideas!

Melissa

OP- I doubt you made two reservations when you took your parents, because if you had, you probably wouldn't be getting a PIN code at your address w/ your mom's name.

OP here: I can't remember. I thought we got 2 reservations. It was so long ago.

That is about less than $5000 per family.

Note: I talked to my brother and would try to get this package. However, DH would refuse to do it if it is against Disney rules. I just have to see what happens.

Everybody from thé EU can access thé UK deal. It would ne ilegal to restrict à deal to some citizen based on nationality within thé EU

I think you did not understand what I wrote.
Disney Europe has different rules for every European country.
For example . The Uk can book for the Christmas season two months before we can.

I tried for years in a row to book through the English site and by phone because the rooms we want are very scares. These rooms book out in an hour as soon as they come available.

A begged and pleaded but never was able to book through the UK site nor by phone in a different country than mine. As soon as they ask the CC number you get a polite but firm Sorry no can do.

And illegal? Why? At most it is annoying.

This sounds like your best option, but be sure to request a 2-bedroom lock off as a previous poster said. This will give your separate exit/entrance for each family and a door that can be locked off for privacy when wanted.

I don't think that's true. To use Disneyland Paris as an example they have far cheaper deals available to book for French citizens than uk citizens. It was investigated by a consumer watchdog recently and the conclusion was it is legal and there's nothing that can be done about it :worried:

BTW our flights this summer have cost approx $4000 dollars (London to Miami - its cheaper than Orlando) for 2 adults and 1 child
