DH will work all day tomorrow, drive to DC (3.5-4 hours), stand in line for who knows how long, walk through to pay his respects, and drive back here just in time for work Thursday morning....all in his dress uniform. Just feels it's something he needs to do since he is able. It won't be easy, but he is able. So yes, I think it's a great idea for you to take them! Hopping the metro will be LOTS easier and a lovely thing to do to show your sons a piece of history and teach them how to pay proper respects to a former president. Hope the crowds aren't too unmanageable when you're there....
