Hi, So just trying to plan next trip. Thinking of staying at Sequoia this time, previously stayed at Cheyenne, Newport Bay and DLH.

What is the difference between staying in the main hotel and the lodges at Sequoia? Is it just distance to the restaurant etc?

How does it compare against Newport Bay and Cheyenne? Daughter really liked Cheyenne last time.

Its basically the distance to breakfast if you stay in a lodge, however we stayed in the Yellowstone lodge this week & I found it to be closer then some of the rooms in the main building.

All the lodges have had there renovation & most of the main building has too, they have 2 floors to go if what I saw this week was anything to go by.

The rooms at SL have double beds which is different to the Cheyenne, also the SL have air con instead of a ceiling fan too.

The SL has a swimming pool too which the Cheyenne doesn't. Not stayed in the NPB but it is the largest hotel on site & many people find that its a long trek to the room.

The SL is slowly becoming my fave hotel & its one I have stayed in the most.

I have stayed in the lodges and the main hotel. If you want my advice, stay in the hotel. I don't know what it was but i hated the lodges, i think it was the feeling of separation from the main hotel and not much atmosphere. The weather wasn't the best either when we were there i dunno i just didn't like walking in the rain between the two buildings.

Just got back from staying at SL. We were in Yosemite lodge and it was very much like staying in a Travel lodge! The room size and layout was the same as NPB,
