I voted for early November for a couple of reasons:
1 The threat of hurricanes is greatly reduced.
2 The Food & Wine Festival is running then.

The park crowds are greatly reduced in September and you can go on rides again and again and again

Enjoy,
Lynn

We have done October and November, so I can't really speak to September. However, we found the crowds excellent in November, the weather was great, and the prices good. We are going back this year in November.

We like to go early September. It has worked very well for us. It isn't crowded at all.

We went Mid September in 2005. We really liked it. Now granted they were doing the free dining add on, so I think thats why it was a little busier, but I would definately choose September again!

Yay for early September. I became an early Sept traveler since last summner
in sept 05. Going again this september!

We go every September and we love it!!!

hmmm...More votes for Nov. But more posts for Sept so far...Interesting.

Some of the pros for us of Sept are, it is Value season at the Deluxe & we want to stay at the AKL. I think it will be warm enough to swim (it is sure warm enough to swim here in TX in early-mid Sept). Longer park hours. NOT traveling to close to the holidays. It is not the first month of the quarter for DH, Sept lands in the middle of the quarter for DH, so he is less busy, meaning less cell phone & email time.

Pros of Nov are, it is actually my birthday (which is what this trip is for). I think it will be less crowded that first week of Nov. If we go in Nov, that means we DONT have to go to the ILs for Thanksgiving... :rotfl2:

The Food and Wine Festival is so worth it. You still get regular season at the Deluxes. I would even consider downgrading to a value resort because there are value rates until November 16. You can have meals at Jiko and Bomas, if you want to visit the AKL and take in the atmosphere that way.

Also, if you go to a value resort you will save enough to go to the best restaurants, buy more souvenirs, etc.

I think November is less crowded, too except for the Holiday time. Even if hours are shorter you accomplish more in November.

Thanks for the suggestions. We already know we are going to do a deluxe savannah room at the AKL though. We are not staying there for the resturants. :) We want to stay there for my DS who is an animal NUT! I know he is going to love sitting on the balcony watching the animals.

First of september for me. It is great not having to wait for hardly any rides. The threat of hurricaines is worth it to me.

I'd do September because Disney starts the Christmas decorating and music (in the hotels) in early November. Last year we got there on the 4th, and it was already going.

It just isn't any fun to be finishing up Halloween, and not yet ready for Thanksgiving and show up to find them beginning Christmas.

I don't care much about the F&W festival.

...but that's just me.
:flower:

I don't know how set you are on your dates. We found the calendar week before Thanksgiving to be wonderful! We walked onto the newly opened Mission:Space in 2003 when we were there. Mom and I were there for a wedding planning trip that same time this year and noticed how desolate the GF and DTD areas were.

I am curious about these times as well. We are considering the week of Halloween versus the week following Thanksgiving...anyone have any suggestions or comments? I have never been to the Food and Wine Festival so I am not sure how much of a bonus that would be. However, I enjoy both so it could be a big bonus. Can anyone tell me about the weather patterns during either of these weeks?
THANKS

Bumping; we are planning on the week after thanksgiving as well.
