September/October 2007 Code, Discount and Rates Watch

What about the week before Columbus day? Is it only the long weekend which is a problem?

I think the long weekend is the most crowded, with the weekdays following Columbus Day next. The week before isn't bad, and the week after (a full week after, as in the Monday following Columbus Day) is great.

Hello everyone! I am new to the board and I'm a little confused about codes, etc.

I'm planning a huge trip to Disney in Nov/Dec of '08, but my mom and I are considering taking my two boys to Disney this September if they end up offering the free dining.

My question, though, is about the codes...

I keep seeing posts about waiting for a September code. What exactly is the code? Once the code is made known, is it available for anyone to use or is it one of these things where you had to receive a special mailing from Disney with a code and instructions? If the September code could be used by anyone, then when is this code usually made available? How much longer would we all have to wait before booking with a code?

Sorry for all the questions, but since we just went to Disney for 8 nights/7 days and are going again in '08 for the same length of time, we are trying to make this 5 night/4 day trip in September as inexpensive as possible. Thanks!

Welcome to the boards! The past couple of years they offered free disney dining plan to Disney Visa cardholders first then opened it up to the public. It is limited the number of rooms they have for this, so to get your hotel choice you have to look at these boards daily until it is announced or until we all decide it won't happen this year.

Last year it was offered in April I believe. I was still able to do it when I stumbled on it at the end of May. They even extended it to book through June 25th last year. I just wanted a value resort, so I was not picky at all.

We are going no matter what, but free dining would be nice!

My folks came to visit last weekend and Sunday my Mom shows me this postcard she received from Disney. I could have cried. Yep, you guessed it. She received the famed 40% off pin and didn't tell me until it had expired. They are going to WDW with us in Sept. so I cannot believe she did not mention anything. :headache: We are booked at POFQ but I would have changed to WL or Poly with that discount. Oh well. I guess I just have to hope for a good code, otherwise we will have to be satisfied with our AAA discount.

Oh no!

Ok, its official. Yesterday I booked my trip for September 16 - September 22 for POP. I am so excited. This will be my first stay at pop, so looking forward to that as well.

Hello!

Well my parents have decided to join my family for the entire week trip rather than just a long weekend. Since this is my 6 yo's first trip, it is going to be super to see the park through his eyes!:cloud9:

Since my parents have been to WDW many, many times over the years, I had them call guest services to see if there was a pin or code in their name. My dad said the CM kept asking them how many times they've visited in the past 4 years. Well, my parents' visit rate just wasn't up to snuff in the last 4 years, so there was no elusive PIN or code. :confused3 But at least from reading the DIS board I knew enough to at least have them try!

So this morning I am calling up our agent and booking WL for 9/21-9/30. We are going - free dining or not! :woohoo:

DW and i are going oct 11-20. we are hoping(no counting on) but hoping for some price saving code.:surfweb:

Since it looks like I may miss the free dining according to the rumors, do you think they will offer some other discount? It is still value season and I'm sure some people will cancel.

So - If I do get a CODE, it could come as a post card, an email or even an insert in my Disney Visa bill? Are there any other ways people have received discount codes?

Looking for something in October!

:grouphug:

Checking in here. Thinking about going in October when the kiddos have three days off of school. :)

Must be looking at going for MEA?? We are in Minnesota too...I booked already with AAA but I ma hoping that some code will come out so we could possibly upgrade from POR to a nicer hotel or save a few extra $$.

Can someone tell me what the dates are for the long weekend in October that is usually Busy so that I can avoid that weekend lol. We're in Canada and don't have that same holiday here.

It is the same weekend as our Thanksgiving........this year it is Oct. 5 - 8 (as the Monday is the holiday)

Columbus Day weekend is a busy one.

And then in Minnesota the kiddos get Thursday the 18th and Friday the 19th off for teacher conferences.

Oh and I just found out that ALL Florida schools are closed on Friday the 19th!!
