September/October 2007 Code, Discount and Rates Watch

count me in. i'm waiting for codes for Sept. 15th thru 22nd. just sitting here waiting.:surfweb: watching and waiting.popcorn::

I guess it's safe to assume if I have a 40% code and another code comes out, I can't use both?

I am glued to this computer! :surfweb: I check it every few hours!
You never know when something important will pop up!:confused3
Especially since we are all waiting on the edge of our seats, the waiting is killing me!:scared:

Me 2!!! I want to get my vacation finalized but I don't want to miss out on free dining or a better discount.

What kind of codes usually come out for months?

We are going Sept 22-29. I keep reading about a website folks are seeing the dining rumor at, but the website is starred out. I checked the websites I know about and didn't see anything. Wonder what this website is- not only to watch for the dining, but also to watch there for future news.

This may be a silly question, but how do you "subscribe" to get these codes. I want one too! Sorry if this has been asked already and I missed it.

Go to the top of this page and right under the page numbers it says thread tools, click it and there is a drop down box and click on subscribe and you will be all set.:cutie:

OH, if only there was a simple answer to that question.....

Read CanadianGuy's sticky at the top of this forum "WDW Resort Codes for Dummies". Here's the excerpt that might answer your question:

How people get selected for to receive email/postcard offers is a source of never-ending debate on these boards.

Signing up at the WDW website and giving them your email address at least gets you in the running. Ordering the vacation planning DVD does the same.

The theories as to how people are selected to receive an email or postcard are like belly-buttons, we all have one.

At the end of the day - none of us know for sure. My best guess is that it is purely random.

There is no guarantee if you do either of those things you'll get one. You could go to Disney once or once every month.. and you may or may not get a code.

HTH!! :)

It's the site related to the Unofficial Guide..if that helps you out. But basically, what was said on the site has already been quoted here so there is nothing new to report.

Correct. Too bad huh? If we could combine the 40% off with free dining we would be very nearly getting paid to stay at a Value resort, LOL. :rotfl:

I am gonna go nuts waiting on this to become a reality!! FDD could save us over $1100..that's AIRFARE. I cannot wait, the next few weeks are gona kill me! :surfweb: :coffee: :laundy: :scared1:

Maybe you veterans know about this but I thought I'd share what I just discovered...Mousesavers lists the historical discounts and the release dates of those discounts! Here's a link:

http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends

It's very interesting and has taken some of the pressure off me. If free dining isn't offered for the week I want to go, I now know that they likely won't release a room-only code until later in the summer. Good to know!

Looking to go the first weekend in Oct. for our 10 yr. Anniversary. Can anyone tell me what the crowds are like then? I am assuming it will be busy because of the F&W festival and it is Colombus Day weekend. Just wondering if it is managable with the crowds or should I go with my original plan to head to Mexico? Thanks a bunch. Just there in January and it was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I was the only adult who was crying cause I had to leave. What is it about Disney?:cloud9:

I am also wondering about how crowded it will be around Columbus Day. Does anyone know? Im thinking of maybe changing to later in Oct. but would rather stick to my original dates if the holiday doesnt make a difference.

According to Tour Guide Mike that is a busy time. The kids get a day off of school and parents take it upon themselves to make it an extended weekend...he recommends avoiding it. That long weekend is the busiest weekend in October (with the exception of maybe Halloween for MNSSHP).

We were there the weekend following Columbus Day last year and thought it was pretty crowded. The crowds dropped off dramatically on Monday, the week following Columbus Day. The rest of the week was very light crowds, not as light as September or late January, but still pretty light. We felt the weekend was about as crowded as when we were there in early June. It wasn't unmanageable though, we were still able to get a lot done by getting to the parks for rope drop, using fastpasses, and following a good touring plan.

I think it depends on what you're used to. We happen to be used to January and September for the most part, so it felt very crowded to us and I wouldn't go at that time again. From now on I'll avoid the Friday before Columbus Day through the Sunday following Columbus Day.

we always go over columbus day as this is our daughters birthday. As the previous poster said we find it more crowded on the holiday weekend than the rest of the week but to us it is not crowded enough to make us change when we go.

I have heard about 90 min wait times other times of the year . we have NEVER experienced anything close to that. We love oct. and will always go then.
