September/October 2007 Code, Discount and Rates Watch

We are planning to go in October. My question is, where do you get the discount codes that you are all talking about? This will be my kids 1st time to Disney and we can't wait to bring them. We are thinking of staying at Port Orleans and stay 8 nights with World Hopper passes.
If you have any other tips and trips to share, I would be interested in those as well. So far, booking through AAA is saving me about $500.

Check mousesavers.com... They put out codes when they become available. They aren't always stackable with a AAA rate, so you have to see if the code is actually able to save you more than what you already have.

Good Luck!

That sounds about right since I am already booked from 9/24-9/29 :headache:

So this would mean you'll HAVE to arrive in WDW 2 days earlier to participate in the FDD promotion since you have to check in by the last day which is 9/22.

Sorry, but I'm not all that familiar with which posters have (or are) "reliable sources". Are these dates pretty firm, or is this more of a preliminary rumor status?

I heard it is posted on "*****************" which write Unofficial Guide to WDW.... (I love this guide book, they haven't failed me yet!) but check out the other thread "free Dining 8/26 -9/26" I think it has been listed in a couple of other places as well... (but I mean just recently... cuz I have been checking daily)

I'm new here, just signed up tonight. (Hi all!:yay: ) Okay, I've been going to WDW about every 5 years for as long as I can remember and I just now found this board! Errrrgh! I've got a bunch of questions:

Anyway, can someone tell me what an "AP rate" is?

I always go during my birthday week which is Sept 12, but this year it's just my big sis and me and she can't get off work until the following week. I can't really see us eating all that much, so I'm not sure the Dining Plan would be a great deal if we can get a % off the room. But we don't have AAA or anything like that.

Plus, I usually stay at a moderate resort and this time we're going to try Pop Century. Do we have to book a higher level to get discounts?

And should I go ahead and book now and call back when they issue discounts? Should I book through Disney directly or Travelocity?

Welcome to Dis

AP Rate is a discounted rate for Annual Passholders.
I would book threw Disney Directly with a AAA rate and if something better comes along to change it.
Enjoy your birthday trip

Thanks for the info fAnnF.

Well, that leaves me out with the AP code. LOL!

Looks like I'll have to join AAA just to get a discount. I'd better be calling to make arrangements...

No, they offer the discounts at the value resorts as well. An example I've had in the past is a $99 rack rate offered around $79. You can always check mousesavers (dot) com for good deals. Look at some of the current ones on there to give you an idea of how they work.

And should I go ahead and book now and call back when they issue discounts? Should I book through Disney directly or Travelocity?

I always book through Disney 407-WDISNEY. Record your conf#, and when you see us going crazy for codes on here, call and ask to have the code applied to your reservation. they will credit your account for that code. It always is good to ensure you HAVE a room, then back yourself into the discounts.

Good luck and enjoy planning the DIS way. It makes it SO much more fun when you have all the fun info this place provides. ENJOY!

I am also interested in watching for codes for Late October.
Thanks for starting this thread!
