Hello everyone,
Started to book for 5th anniversary trip. Noticed on Disney website that the only deluxe resorts with rooms not in concierge are GF and Poly. Anyone know why the dates of 10/23-10/30 would be booked? I haven't seen anything different than any other year.
We two are hoping for a code. Got married at Sunset Pointe 10-29-02 and going to spending this years trip on an anniversary trip fo just my lovely wife and I. We are leaving our then 3 year old DD and then 10 month old DS with my wife's parents.

I have no idea why they are booked but I checked the site the other day and the regular Poly rooms were booked up during my travel dates also (9/22-29). I even checked 3 days before our trip and a week after. That's crazy. I am now glad that I took care of our ressies last month.

anyone know if this is a good deal? you know what we'd REALLY like - AKL Savannah - but unless it's close to $4000 for our family of four, we won't - it's just too expensive.

Well... the advance purchase price on your tickets alone is $1007. The DDP for 2 adults / 2 children is $100/night x 14 nights = $1400. That means you're paying about $1194 for 14 nights hotel, or $85/night. That sounds like rack rate to me, not really a good deal, but that's just what it costs without a discount code of some sort. So, you're not overpaying anyway.

If by some chance free dining is offered to the general public and is available for your hotel and dates it could save you about $1400! You might also check with AAA if you're a member to see if they have any discounts available for your dates.

I don't think you're going to get AKL Savannah for under $4000 regardless of any discounts that may come available. Rack rate is $285/night minimum, for 14 nights that's over $4000 with tax, plus another $1000 for your tickets... *IF* there was free dining. *IF* a room only general public discount was available, it could pull the cost of the room down as low as $2600-3000, but you'd still have the cost of tickets and you wouldn't be eligible for the DDP.

Since I my account did not have a 40% code I had to book at full price and hope some magic happens between now and August 14th (the last day to cancel for a refund).

I called back 24 hours later and I had a PIN code attached to my name for 40% off the rack rate of the room ( I had been under the impression that the 40% off came off the entire package, but it's JUST the room portion that is being reduced). My trip is now $3272.

I checked using the Disney website, and the same trip (plus $119 trip insurance) is coming up $3793. So, I'm saving $521 as of now and hoping that something even better comes in the future!

The CM said, just keep checking back and if something better comes up, they'll keep changing it.

FYI - yesterday I requested a Disney Vacation Kit and sent them a 'contact us' question from the Disney website. Who knows if that triggered the Disney Code gods, but it's worth a shot!

I just booked (today) a garden room at the Poly for 9/22 - 10/01/07 with our pin code, so I'm not sure why it was not avail, unless you were looking for a different level room?

We do have the AAA discount, but I miss the days of getting big-bucks discounts regularly. Oh, well. Can't complain, we're still able to go and that's all that matters.

I just made ressies for Sept 21st-28th at Port Orleans Riverside. 7day park hoppers with dining for $3142.74 We will still have to come up with our own air but I am also considering driving to save if the flights don't come down some. Also still hoping for a code to come my way!! Oh the Customer Service person taking the disney rez said that she doesn't see why they would not offer free dining for Sept/Oct...keepin my fingers crossed!!! Jenn

Ok, question...we booked through AAA to get the discount...now if there was a code available would we be able to apply that?? Just not sure how that works.

Also, people are saying that they called to ask if there was a code by your name...I am assuming this only works with people who have booked vacations with Disney before?!?

NOPE. We have a family trip coming and my cousin received a post card. This will be their first trip since she traveled there as a kid "several decades" ago. She does have a Disney CC, though.

I need a code for September or October, the date is up in the air. We want to stay at WL or AKL. What number do you call to see if their is a code attached to your name? Also, I am thinking of upgrading to an AP to get the discount. Does anyone know when those discounts will be available?

I just got off the phone with a disney rep and she said that they are having to be extra careful with the code/pin discount. She said that she hasn't even seen them come out yet for Sept/Oct. They just extend into June right now. Who the heck knows how it works. I just want a little savings sprinkled my way. I am debating to join AAA just to get the discount. Anyone know if it would be worth it?
