September Hours Question

My frustration is Disney is asking us to plan pretty much our entire vacation before we step foot on property but yet they can't give us the tools to plan accordingly for our families.

YES!!! EXACTLY my frustration! That is what I said to the CM on the phone (see above post) Then she gave me the email address to use to voice complaint.

Exactly! I'm fine with planning for dining reservations 180 days in advance...but I need to know what days we're going to be where. For that I need to know which nights will have MSEP and Wishes! Just going to have to plan as if there will be Wishes every night and go off of when MSEP nights were from prior years and then make changes if needed when the schedule is actually released.

I haven't a guess. She said no more to me and seemed to be parroting only what she was told to say by her supervisor. I didn't push for more because, to be honest, she (CM) was not very "informed", so I figured no more gems of info were forthcoming.

Thats about the only "plan" we can have at this time. Its no secret that there are some ADRs that are an absolute MUST to do as soon as the window opens. Others can be moved around later. So at least a rough plan is required at the 180 day out mark! Which is March 7th for us!!!

My DD15 made a good point..... If Wishes were "down" in Sept bc it was in some way being "refurbished" or bc of cut-backs, then why would the Elec parade also be "down" for the same exact dates? If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that WDW doesn't yet know how deep into the beginning of Sept they are scheduling MNSSHP this year. So they don't yet know when to schedule Wishes/Elec Parade around when the Halloween fireworks and parades will take place. I'm going to try to remain optimistic that once they have early-Sept MNSSHP ironed out, then Wishes/Elec Parade schedule will be filled in.
We actually ran into a similar situation in 2014. I wanted to purchase tix for the Wishes Dessert Party but bc it was earlier in Sept (our trip) and WDW wanted to keep the option of opening up more dates for MNSSHP, they would not sell tix to the dessert parties for any night in early Sept! It took FOREVER for them to decide and finally we were able to pay for the dessert party on the night we wanted. LOOONG after the 180 day point when we were supposed to be able to buy the tix!! [anyone else here that was part of that thread where we kept calling and calling and then set up a "text chain" for when the party dates opened up for booking?]

Have not sent it yet. It's been a busy afternoon here. Doing so tonight.
But.... after having a few hours to ponder this and also discuss it with my equally dis-savy DD15, I posted my updated feelings on why Wishes/Elec Parade is not scheduled. (See post #48 above)

Yes, as long as we get our must do ADRs then the rest I won't mind if we have to move. Our 180 day is March 13th, so I got a couple more weeks atleast to hope for some updates. Will be working on our "draft" plan for now!

I like the theory that surely they would not refurbish Wishes AND MSEP at the same time! My window opens the 7th too, so it would be REALLY nice to have it ironed out by then!

I printed out a preliminary calendar about 2 weeks ago and it said there was no Wishes however, now that Disney has released their official calendar for Sept 5th and 6th, it shows Wishes for both nights.
