We'll be at WDW September 16-23. Our last full day is a Friday and I was thinking about scheduling a Fantasmic Dinner Package to ensure a good seat for the show. Do you think this is necessary? Or will the crowd levels not be that bad that I can just eat at a counter service and get to the show without much of a wait and still get a seat?

I will arrive at the parks the day that you leave. We will be there Sept. 23-30. I wondered about the same thing. After debating in my mind, I decided to go ahead and book one. Then I figured if I ended up having the extra time and the crowds weren't bad, I could just sit somewhere else. So I called. We wanted Mama Melrose, and all of their Fantasmic packages were booked for the two nights I wanted. So now we will just eat dinner and hope to get out with enough time. Our ADR is at 5:30 so I think we should be ok. BTW, I booked that 5:30 ADR over a month ago. I was just going to cancel it and get a Fantasmic package. I was not able to do it so I kept what I had.

So if you are considering booking a package you need to call ASAP! Chances are high that all of the Fantasmic packages will be sold out because of the free dining. It is worth a shot to call and try though. :wizard:

When I called for Sept 25th about a month ago for the FDP, H&V and Mama Melrose were completely booked, and I took the last ressie at Brown Derby @4pm.

I am sure with Free Dining it is going to be tough to get it, but who knows you might get a cancellation at the last minute so keep trying :) .

Yep. Sept. 25 was one of the dates I tried! I was told that all Mama Melrose Fantasmic packages were booked for that date and for Sept. 29. I didn't try the other restaurants because we were wanting to try something different this trip. We have eaten at all of the other restaurants but never Mama Melrose. So we just kept the regular 5:30 ADR there and will RUN to Fantasmic seating after eating. (Work some of those calories off right away! ;) )

Thanks, after I posted this last night I thought about availability. Perhaps I'll give it a try anyway. Thanks again.
