September Check-in - September has Arrived!

We will arrive at the Grand on the 12th, and depart on the 14th. Never done a fall dapper day, but the wife and I are ready (No kids this trip).

Discounts for Disneyland Hotel? Do they ever offer discounts?

We're booked at HoJo, but I'd happily switch if we could get a good discount...

There are seasonal discounts for the DLR Hotels, but there are currently no discounts for September. Last year, there were two discounts for most of September. (See http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyland-california-vacation-discounts-and-deals/frequently-asked-questions-about-disneyland/#newdiscounts). They were both similar, but one offer was exclusive to Disney Visa cardholders and was made available before the other offer was made available to the public.

Additionally, there is a 10% discount through Orbitz, but you have put the entire hotel cost up-front (but you can cancel so long as you do so 3-5 days before your stay--I think). Here is more information on the Orbitz deal (and a few smaller ones): http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyland-california-vacation-discounts-and-deals/disneyland-resort-hotel-discounts/

We are in the same boat; we may stay On-Property if a discount of 20-25% is offered, but will probably stay off property if no such discount is offered.

I'll be at the Disneyland Hotel from the 14th to the 19th. Does anybody have any predictions on how crowds will be Monday through Friday?

My family and I will be making our 1st ever trip to Disneyland Sept. 13 -16. We are staying at Grand Californian. Feeling very nervous about the whole thing with Disneyland being new to us but very excited too!

As I said before I'm going from September 15th to the 19th. I just got off the phone with dining reservations and asked if he knew what park hours would be for that week. He said 10:00-8:00 Monday through Wednesday but it would be 9:00 to 10:00 on Thursday through Saturday. I asked him why the later hours on Thursday and he said probably for some event. Any idea what this may be? I purposefully booked this week because there wasn't any events.

Just booked. Between school and work only one weekend was open. September 4-7. Staying for four days and three nights at the DLH. Hopefully it's not too busy and there aren't that many rides down for the Halloween prep.

FYI everyone! get away today is doing adults at kids prices for September, but the sale ends at midnight tonight. i just got our tickets!

The only rides that get Halloween makeovers are HM and Space.

Thank you so much! I looked on the Disney Site and saw they only offered discounts to APs right now. I'm surprised, because September is supposed to be so slow (especially mid month, when I'm going). They must have sold enough rooms.

Those are my dates, too. I chose them because crowds are very light. 1-2 the whole time (from Touring Plans).

Anyone know what kind of weather to expect? I've never been to Anaheim :hyper:

As a lifelong Southern California resident, I can tell you that the weather from September through December can be quite varied and often unpredictable. It could be dry and hot; dry and windy; cool and overcast; windy and rainy; humid and hot, etc. More than likely, September will be hot.

Sometimes we get slammed with a lot of 'delayed summer' weather in September. During the opening week of Halloween Time at Disneyland in 2010, the temperatures reached 113 - 115 degrees in my area of L.A., and somewhere in the range of 118 degrees in Anaheim.

The next year (2011), at the same time in September, the temperatures were in the mid-to-upper 70s, the sky was overcast and it was humid.

Back on opening weekend of Halloween Time in September 2007, there was a crazy on-and-off storm. It would alternately rain heavily -- I mean, so heavily that an umbrella would not have done any good -- and then get hot (like 80-something degrees and sunny). Then it would start pouring again. Then it would get hot again. That was easily the strangest weather I've ever had to deal with at Disneyland, because my friends and I were alternately getting soaked and then applying sunscreen; then scrambling for ponchos and getting out the sunglasses. The lines for rides were short or non-existent, but we also found ourselves sitting in puddles left behind on ride vehicles by other guests who had run indoors to escape the rain.

Last year it was very warm -- too hot for my taste -- on opening day of Halloween Time at DLR. I think it was hovering in the upper 80s or low 90s, if I recall.

Thanks, Sherry! Sounds like we'll pack a little bit of everything, and see what we get! I'm so excited about the low crowds that I'm not worried about the weather at all.

You're welcome!

I think that you'll find that the parks will be a bit more crowded than you will be expecting. That doesn't mean that there will be crazy, insane, post-Christmas/New Year's Eve-level crowds or anything, but there will also not be what I would necessarily call low crowds (unless there happens to be a chance of rain, in which case that will scare a lot of people away). The crowds might be lower than they are during some other timeframes, but it will still be Halloween Time and Halloween Time is extremely popular. The 2 ride overlays alone -- Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday -- attract long lines and many people.

The only thing that may keep the crowds slightly lower in mid-September as opposed to later in September is the fact that Mickey's Halloween Party will not have begun yet. Some folks wait to experience Halloween Time until they can get to DLR and do Mickey's Halloween Party too.

I've been changing things again. I spent the last two days juggling things and added an extra day to our holiday. This was great until I realised our accommodation couldn't give us the extra night. I went into panic mode emailed our TA and the hotel, neither could sort it immediately but both were very reassuring that it would work out. I was fine until something else tripped off my OCD and anxiety and I just went and booked DLH, I was loathe to contact my TA again after she had been so good at sorting it originally and I changed my mind. I found the deal through mousesavers and just did it - oops
So new Disney dates 23rd -28th at DLH

Well, I'm super excited to say that I need to be added to the list of Disers headed to the land in September. Just going for two nights/three days the 26the and 27th.
Going with my boyfriend and his family (his sister is going for her birthday AND it's his parents 60the wedding anniversary. We are staying at the Ramada Maingate North (got a great deal).
It's months away, but they invited me yesterday and now I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP. Lol

I guess technically it's months away, but 2 months isn't long at all and will absolutely fly past :thumbsup2 I first started planning my trip 2 years ago. Now that is a long time to wait :crazy2:
