Hi Guys!
Just wondering if anyone can confirm to me, is the port where we will be docked in SF close to Fisherman's Wharf? We have signed up for a tour on Tuesday, but just want to make sure we are close by to catch it!

Any help is appreciated...:confused3

I read on one of the other Pixar cruise meet pages that we dock at pier 25 (*correction 35) which was really central when I googled it so fingers crossed they were right! :)

I think you mean pier 35. It's pretty close and you can just walk over to pier 39

I just booked our Alcatraz tour tickets and the Alcatraz tour is leaving from pier 33. I booked the 9:30 and we need to be boarding at 9:05 so the close proximately is great! A short walk to pier 39 for some lunch.

I also booked a shuttle from lax to the Crowne Plaza for our December cruise. Super Shuttle $37.20 for 2 when I added a 20% tip. I used coupon code UYR59 for $3.00 off. Coupon code should be good for anyone else using Super Shuttle from lax to port or San Pedro hotel. I thought the pricing was fairly good. PrimeTime Shuttle was $52 and $55 for Payless Shuttle.

Hi Everyone,

Just finished reading all 39 pages in this thread. Booked this cruise a couple of weeks ago for my son (age 4) and I. I'm Melissa and my son is Jacob (or Jake).

It will be my 10th cruise, and my son's 3rd, but our first time on Disney Cruise Line. We always cruise Carnival so I'm looking forward to something different.

I am not sure yet if we will be doing the FE, but if so, I will confirm before the deadline.

We live in San Diego so we probably will not get off the ship. If anyone is thinking about the San Diego Zoo, in October they have a promotion where kids get in free for the whole month!

We probably won't get off the ship in Ensenada either. Looking for something fun to do with a 4 year old in San Francisco. Might not get off the ship there either!

Great thread. Thanks for all the tips. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

:welcome: Welcome, Melissa and Jacob! :welcome:

I'm thinking about what a 4-year old would like. Sabrina was nearly 4 on our first Disney Cruise and she loved everything. Would Jacob love to ride a cable car or how about a hot fudge sundae at Ghirardelli ?? ghirardelli SF- menu

Both are reasonably close to the pier. We'll likely get the Wharf Pass with the two-day hop-on-hop-off bus. That will give us transport to where we want to go both days. Maybe Hot Fudge two days in a row.... dark fudge one day and mike chocolate the other... oooh with banana

I've been to Ensenada a couple times. There really isn't a beach to walk to. The first time I went, I did the winery tour and it was fun but not something I would do with kids. The Bufadoura was a bust for us. You have to time your visit for the tides in order to get full effect. There are some flea market stands there to shop. There was a yummy bakery that we bought some bread from and there was a taco stand immediately to the right after we got of our bus. Bring change if you need to use the facilities as you need to pay and tip. My hubby doesn't really want to get off the ship but I think I can convince him with the lure of Internet and coffee. We will probably find a coffee shop, use the internet, buy some candy for souvenirs, try to find a bakery as my daughters loved the bread that we had there before, and let the girls get some soda and chips. Apparently, Mexican Cheetos taste different!

Just checking...have you received your stateroom numbers yet?

Nothing yet:confused3. I think they must be doing all the general GTY then working on the IGT GTY. Have any of you that are IGT gotten room assignments?

OK ... so what's a general GTY vs a IGT GTY?
My understanding is that you could book a specific category like say 11b but instead of getting a room assigned you were GTY. Then there was another category where you could book an inside room guaranteed IGT (slightly cheaper but with restriction) which was also GTY. It looks like those that booked just a specific category are getting their room assignments now.

We are Larry and Marietta from San Diego. Yes, this cruise will stop in our home town for a day. We may get off and do laundry or not.

This is our first Disney Cruise but we have been on two others, Alaska & Panama. We are in the you get the balcony we give you category and have not heard where we are going to be yet. Wish us luck.

This is a great group from what I read in the copious number of posts.

We have Palo brunch booked on Day 2 at 11 but were considering canceling. We've never done Palo for brunch so booked it just in case. We have Palo for dinner on Day 5. I'm worried we would miss the character breakfast and also wonder if that's too much food for early in the day???

Normally I don't workout on board (its always ben too hot) but because the weather will be so nice I may do some running outdoors and also lots of walking. Any others going to try and fit some exercise in???

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

We have done Brunch twice and dinner once and much prefer the brunch. At the brunch you get shown around all the buffet and cook stations then are served orange juice and champagne before you walk around and make your choices. So much better value than dinner....

If the character breakfast is the same day as our brunch (1st at sea day) then we shall go along for coffee and juice and for photo taking and just not eat. We are always late seating for dinner and by the time we sit to eat in the evening we are slightly peckish but not ravenous and just eat to suit....

We don't usually exercise while on board but last trip (a 14 day transatlantic) we thought we had better do something so every morning we walked a couple miles around the deck and it worked a treat.

If you can then I would go for both (for the Palo experience) but don't cancel brunch just because you think you may have the character breakfast the same day....as I said before you don't have to eat at breakfast....

Looking forward to meeting you.I'm sure we will all have a blast

Found this on the Sept 16th Pixar cruise. Apparently they couldn't confirm the playing of Nemo 3D but I'm going to assume it will be as stated on the cruise description.
-------------->
I called Disney as well and I was told that although subject to change, this what the probable schedule will look like for our sailing:

Timothy Green will premeire on our cruise on Wednesday, September 19th.
Pirates of the Caribbean whatever
Cars 2 in 2/3D
The Help
The Mupppets in 2/3D
People Like Us
War Horse
John Carter in 2/3D
Chimpanzee
The Advengers
Brave in 2/3D

On the California Coast page on the DCL website there's a promo video and it says that Finding Nemo 3D will premier on the Pixar cruises :)

My family are all booked on this cruise - 17 of us in total from NZ, Oz and UK.

I will allow the others to introduce themselves if they wish.

We are a couple from the UK (31) and will be bringing our two Daughters (2.5 and 6m) with us. This will be our first Disney cruise. We have been on one cruise before several years ago.

We are excited but also apprehensive about how things are going to work with the little ones in the evening and whether we will be stuck in our rooms all night or will be able to stay out and enjoy the shows. We have booked them both into creche on two evenings until 11pm so we can at least go out on those nights.

What are other peoples experiences of bringing young children with them. Sorry if this has already been mentioned, I havent managed to read past page 20 of the thread yet!

We look forward to meeting you all on the 30th.

Welcome aboard! Wow, big party! It's really exciting to hear that we won't be the only kiwis on board this time round!

Sorry, I can't help with your questions but I am sure there will be people on these boards who can!

:welcome: Larry & Marietta :welcome:

I grew up in San Diego, did my time working in LA (with great results.... found my DH Chuck), been to Ensenada a few times and SF long ago.

I think you should join us in the "pretend we haven't been there done that" delusion. I vote NO Laundry. :laundy:

In San Diego, I'm thinking we'll make our own "Beach Day" excursion and go to Belmont Park / The Wave House (unless you have a better idea for us). Beach, pool and it's just $5 for one-day spa access. It's not Disney's Castaway Cay, but I figure we'll rent beach chairs and a beach umbrella so we can pretend. :beach:

Whoo Hoo for a balcony... any balcony! :yay:
