September 3, 2005 --- Who is going?

Since I've never been on the ship before I'm going to have to search out either place. But if Deck 7 is decided upon, maybe someone could stick a lime-green mickey head (Home Depot paint chip) to the door so all of us newbies will know we're in the right place.

My vote is for Deck 7. I'd love to figure out where it is on the first day.

I can get DH to help muscle kegs if needed. :love2:

Oh and did I mention my vote is NO to Togas's :rotfl2:

Capt. Crash
I'm trying to not take our lack of docs personally yet.....but that can only last a few more hours!
I'm pretty sure you are right about them upgrading us to the suites. Oh, the good life
Actually, I think we live further west than most. Maybe that is the hold up.?

Will they come USPS or UPS? I'd hate to think I've been stalking the wrong carrier. :smooth:

:confused3 and I'm smack dab in the middle of the country!

Good news though. Grumpy's (DH) trip has been moved up and so he'll be gone starting next week and not back home until a couple days before we leave. He gets to go and I get to pack in peace!! :goodvibes

For those of you that have monsters and are going for the pirate costumes; my unsolicited advice is THE FEWER PIECES THE BETTER!!! At least I'm now officially qualified as a "costume accessory wrangler." If I ever decide law isn't for me I've got a backup, a very frustrating backup, but a backup.

Perhaps it's better if the docs don't come for a while...less time to lose them. Last time I saw the eyepatch the dog was wearing it. I wouldn't want to imagine what they could do with the docs :earboy2:

Only 4 more weeks at the salt mine!

PMM - We have a 4 year old boy. Isn't 4 a fun age! :bounce:

All - My vote for our first meet is in the Promenade Lounge also. I'm all for the AC! Maybe we can schedule the toga party for one evening later in the cruise.

Frank

No docs here yet either. I practically jump the mailman everyday seeing if they are here but am always disappointed. Maybe today.

pmm0724, we have a 4 year old boy too. I think there are quite a few in that age group in this forum. Now if I can actually get my son to unattach himself from me to go to the Club, it will be great.

I really don't care where we have the meet so mark me down either way. I will be happy to meet anywhere as long as I finally can get on that ship.

Robyn

Another 4 year old boy here!! On our last cruise, our DS didn't enjoy the club that much. I think it was because there were too many kids in the club. He never really "hooked up" with a friend. I'm hoping this time to find another DS4 who he can hang out with at the club. So, are there any 4 year old boys that love Power Rangers, Batman and superheros out there? I'd love for him to meet someone early on the cruise. (more time for mummy in the spa)

DD10, on the other hand, is a different story. She never wants to leave the lab. It's like pulling teeth to get her to do anything with us. No family time for her. We basicly only see her on Port Days.

I'm in for the DIS meet. I think it would be great (especially for the kids)

Wendy

Uh oh, my 4 year old grandson loves computers, singing, dancing, minnie mouse, etc. He is NOT into power rangers, etc. so may not be a match.

It seems we have a few DS that are 4. Any DDs that are 6? I cannot recall.

Here's to all the 4 year olds loving the Club :jumping1: There are a bunch of them. Our son is excited about sort of knowing about the other children and I think them all meeting at our little "toga, keg, whatever" party will really help them when it is time for us to drop them off. :cool1:

Had to giggle about the dog with the eye patch. Our 9 year old spent most of yesterday AM wearing his pirate costume around the house. It has now been confiscated by me and hidden in the secret "do not touch until the cruise" place.

I vote for AC for our little get together!!! Have fun!!

Hello again...

We have daughters ages 4.5 and the younger just under 2. Oh... I guess my spouse would actually chime in and correct me - we actually have FOUR kids if you count the neurotic dog and the husband (unfortunately ~ or fortunately ~ the dog is not cruising!). We still are uncertain of the dog or husbands' ages as they were both "rescued from shelters" in a manner of speaking. Sugar was found through an organization called "Save Our Samoyeds" - otherwise referred to as SOS - and the husband was "rescued" from the "shelter" of college. :dog2:

BTW, For convenience I have a running DIS meet vote tally.... so far it is 4 voices for the Deck 3 lounge ~ 2 for the Deck 7 secret veranda ~ and 1 that seems to be neutral (although I am actually more neutral than in favor of Deck 3 - I might switch my vote! ... now if only we could do the same thing when we voted for our politicians after the fact!!). I think there are a few more voices to be heard from before Monday 12 noon - so let's see how this goes. Nows the time to send private messages to try and influence those Sept 3rd DIS folks who have NOT voiced an opinion yet! :goodvibes

LOL! :cool1:

our ds is definitely into power rangers, batman, spiderman, star wars, and race cars and incredibles, so he is excited to hear about some new friends on this cruise.

my vote is for the secret verandah, i love being outside when we board.

I have no preference, so I guess I am neutral. Just bear in mind tho, that FL weather can definately dictate how "comfortable" you may be outside. It may be hot and sticky, :sunny: or perfect :cloud9: or raining. :umbrella:

Lisa - my DD just turned 7. She's not very excited about the kids clubs, but if she can meet other girls around her age, I think she'll love it.

My DS who is 4 is definitely a match with any kid who loves Power Rangers, Star Wars, Spiderman, Teen Titans, Kids Next Door, you name it. I hope he can meet some of the other 4 year olds when we all meet so maybe he can make a friend or two and want to play with them in the club. I am definitely hoping for that. My DS who is 8 is already looking forward to meeting Mom2boyz2000 and DisneyDadJax's son. I am also hoping that their 4 year DS and mine get to be friends as well. I have this dream that both of my boys will be playing in the club and lab, and I can sit uninterrupted for more than 5 minutes to relax, read a book, or whatever people do when they are alone for more that a few minutes.

No matter how much money I seem to offer the mailman, my documents still have not arrived. I need them to make it real for me.

Robyn

Andy & I have both been so busy at work and doing our pre-cruise chores (cleaning, etc), that we haven't posted very often. Well, I take that back, Andy is a regular on the Community Board (those crazy change-up word games) and with the crazy weather, Andy's been mowing the grass every week. It's been really weird!!!!!

We're using DVC points to cruise, so we're not expecting our docs for another week or maybe even two. I've already pre-filled and printed several of the documents from the DCL website, but I'd still like to get my grubby hands on the official docs.

Kids - we don't have any and since the ferrets aren't allowed on the ship, it will be just the two of us. But, if we could bring them, I know they'd enjoy hanging out and playing with all the kids. :paw: :paw:

DIS meet --- we've done the Promenade Lounge thing, which has it's advantages (namely air conditioning), but last year we met friends on SD-7 and popped a bottle of wine and waved to the folks on shore. Advantage to the deck - living like a rock star and waving to the common folk (those sad people on the shore). :rockband:

Robyn - you need to mug the mailman and get back your ca$h....then starting paying off the UPS or FedEx dude. :teeth: Waiting for docs is like watching a pot and waiting for the water to boil...... :bored:

Ginny :cutie:

I checked DCL reservation syatem today to see how many cabins are still available. (Hoping to buy an ungrade) There is availabilty for every cat. for up to 4 adults. When I check on 2 adults, 2 kids, there are NO cabins. I wonder if this means that we've got maximum children on board already. On the Western in March, they said there were 900 kids on board. And I thought this was off-season.

As for the DIS meet, my vote in the Prom. Lounge.

Wendy

P.S. Any more DD 10 out there?

Wait a minute. Am I stalking the wrong guy by stalking the mailman? How do the docs come? I should know since I am not a first time cruiser but I have an extremely short memory and can't remember. Do they come UPS or FedEx and not regular mail? I may have this all wrong. Ginny, I think you may be right and I need to get my money back from the mailman and start putting it to better use on the FedEx or UPS man. But I don't even know where to find them. They don't come to my house daily like the mailman. I am so confused now.

DD6 Skye did not like the kids club last time but now that she's older she'll give it a try. :cool1: She loves the Powerpuff Girls and My Little Pony but her favorites are horses. She has been taking riding lessons over the summer and I think she has found "her thing".
