Tina and Lisa,

I think we are near you guys. We are in cabin 6110. We haven't gotten our documents yet either. It is getting very close now.

Robyn

Anyone else on deck 6?
:wave2: :boat:

Lisa - we're down on deck 2....believe it or not, by choice. :goodvibes We like the convenience (and the stairs help with walking off some of the great food).

Ginny :cutie:

Captaincrash,

You are too funny. I think we may need three kegs though, and I like lots and lots of fireworks! I think Toga as a theme would be good. It makes me think of family get togethers and good clean family fun. :rotfl: :cool1:

DisneyFan / GDlaney:

DFF: who was trying to be funny? I'm dead serious. I was going to ship the fireworks by FedEX to the boat direct (steamer trunks marked "do not open to inspect - party FIREWORKS"). And as for all the radical "adjustments" to cabins an passageways... I had an "ace in the hole" to pull it off... we'll just invite the Captain, his staff, and all the cast and cast characters! Imagine... Chip n Dale in Togas... but what sort of toga would Pluto get? :rotfl2:

OK.... maybe we would NOT have a sanctioned party - so we may have to be crafty about sneaking aboard the pyrotechnics. We may have to settle for throwing fish food confetti off the verandas and simple door signs on JUST our cabins. And as for togas.... I guess we could ALL have togas made up from our bed linens. But for the finishing touch - the guys need olympian wreaths and everyone probably needs to bring a few safety pins and a bright rope belt or sash of some sort to hold their make-shift togas in "place" appropriately. :flower:

Ok.... maybe we'll skip the complicated party idea and just meet before the fire drill and TALK about the toga party that COULD HAVE BEEN....

GDlany: I have to confess - that we (like yourself) are sensitive about cabin location onthe ship... UNLESS we get a free upgrade to veranda. We once sailed on a rough sea day and the ship was like a bona fide ROLLER COASTER. It was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E! But we never encountered a bad sea day in the Carribean (seas are too shallow for really rough seas supposedly). At any rate - we had a few very ill friends in the forward cabins - and our cabin was about 80% towards the rear (Veranda) and 3 of 4 of us were seasick... and we had TWO electric seabands and one accupressure band. I was the only one not to fall ill - but I could sense the vertigo combating my senses.

So we understand the attraction of being on a lower deck + we assume you are more or less central on the ship. Our present cabin is booked on deck two (I think?) and we are central but slightly forward.

OK... so do we have any other ideas for a sail away party? We have one nomination for TOGAs. It's so quiet I sense that some folks might actually be taking me seriously :rotfl: So... I second the notion... THREE KEGS IT IS!

OK - I'm just foolin'. A themed party is too much work - and the cruise itself is actually party enough, eh?

:cool1:

Hmmm, I better tone up my muscles if I plan to walk around in a toga, darn thing may show too much ;)

CaptainCrash, are you sure 3 kegs are enough? There are a lot of us. :rotfl2:

Ok, ok, so maybe the cabin stewards might get testy if they see the bed linens around the ship being used as togas. So a meet before the life boat drill might be best.

Do we have a location set for a meet yet? I've been slacking on my thread reading, and I'm afraid I missed it. I think I remember Promenade Lounge and Scoops both being mentioned.

Hi Ginny! We haven't heard much from you or Andy lately. :flower:

I was wondering too if we had a meeting time and place set yet. I would love to meet you guys.

I guess the toga idea would be a little too over the top. The kids would be tripping over the sheets anyway, and who knows how we could get that toga on Pluto. Could you imagine though other people on the ship looking at us like we were crazy if we actually did dress up in togas and bring kegs? They would be wondering what kind of ship did they get on, isn't it supposed to be Disney? :rotfl2:

Hey Lisa ... I spend alot of time on some on the other threads and let Ginny do most of the posting ... the time is getting closer, we have 18 work days before we officially start vacation and will be heading to Orlando on 8/31 to spend a few days there at SSR. Can't wait to meet everyone on our cruise .... Andy

They would just think they mistakenly got on a Carnival ship :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Please keep the noise down! :rotfl2:

I think the toga party's a great idea! We're on Deck 8, so why don't we make the party on Deck 7 aft, out on the "secret" deck. If someone's making door signs, make a few for the doors leading to the deck saying "Private Party - DIS Members Only". I'll ask the concierge as soon as we board for a stack of twin sheets, so we don't have to upset the cabin stewards. I've heard they can't say "no" to special requests.

Docs are here!

On my way to the TA to pick them up!!!

29 days, 23 hours and 20 minutes until we set sail... but who's counting!!!

September 25, 26, 27, 28, at SSR.

:cheer2: :cheer2: My Docs are Here!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

The UPS guy got off easy, they actually came by priority mail from Costco Travel in Washington State. I guess the trip across country and back is what delayed them.

We are on deck 6 - 6068 is our cabin. I'm so excited to have a veranda this time! Last year we were inside and I kept glancing thru open doors at the rooms with verandas.

:badpc: Oooohhhh, I'm dying. STILL no docs.
Maybe tomorrow!

Boy, I'm glad that toga thing got nixed. I'm just getting used to the idea of spending a week in a swimsuit. :scared1:

Mic-Maniac....

Yeah... we're sharing your anguish. Looks like DCL doesn't want us aboard. Anyone think DCL has cast members monitoring our chatter here? Maybe I should have toned down the DIS sailaway party ideas.... OK... Officially I am retracting my proposals for pyrotechnics off the verandas - and we now propose that we do away with the kegs and settle for just sparkling apple juice and Mickey ice cream bars (extra sprinkles please). But we still vote for togas made from ships' linen (someone with the proper veranda cabin - call the concierge for linens!). :rotfl:

So - now... if someone from DCL is secretly monitoring this... may I NOW get some cruise docs?

So M-Mic... maybe they're holding off of sending us our cruise docs because they can't decide whether which of us gets the Walt suite and the other the lowly catagory 2! Or... I just checked the booking engine for our sailng. Just a few days ago they were selling guarantee rates across several catagories - but now they show as sold OUT. Hmmm.... so maybe they are NOT trying to pidgeon hole us into a catagory 1 or 2 anymore. :earseek:

So.... to the general population of DIS folks at large on this sailing... I guess we're meeting at (was it...) 3PM? .... and WHERE shall we meet? Some time ago I thought a proposal for the promenade lounge on deck 3 (located between Lumiere's and Parrot Caye) was offerred and generally accepted. And recently we had a proposal from DD-Zax for the "secret deck" AFT on deck 7. Well... I know I saw it somewhere on another site - but the secret deck area obviously does not show up on regular deck maps. So shall we request a series of "VOTES" from now until let's say MONDAY at 12 noon PST? And we'll tally for consensus - and if anyone feels the time is inappropriate for any reason - mention it now.

I shall begin .... by invoking a "2nd" affirmation on the proposal for 3PM in the Deck 3 Promenade Lounge - due to it being on any deck map - and it is indoors and air conditioned. However - I will voice that if we can get a link posted showing access route to the secret deck 7 area - that would make it viable and slightly unique. We will have to hire deck hands to lug our kegs out there and up any steps though. In the promenade we could just roll the kegs over ourselves and tap them there!!! Say - maybe we can launch our pyrotechnics off this area? And... BTW... who nixed the Toga idea? :earboy2: Ok... maybe NOT. Ok... no togas! :rolleyes1

:grouphug:

OK... gotta go and wait by my mailbox for cruise docs.

Adios!

I'm all for the Deck 7 aft verandah. I found it last year out of necessity, I was paged by the Oceaneer's Lab to pick up my DS there- seems it was too humid for my delicate  boy.

I don't have a map, but if you get on deck 7, and head aft as far as you can, you'll see a door, with a small porthole in it.... when you peek through the porthole and see daylight, you've found it!

New smilies today, :paw: looks like Blues CLues
:dog2: this one's cute too.

I vote for the Promenade deck (A/C and easier to find). I'm also interested to see if there is anyone from this forum cruising with a 4 year old.
