September 29, 2007 - Magic

We will be contributing to the goodie bags...I just haven't figured out what yet. So, just put us down as a ?

My kids are putting stickers on their count down calendars every night and are getting so excited...just can't figure out if Trent and I are more excited than they are!!! We got DS pirate costume from littletykes.com today!!

-Tracypixiedust: :tinker:

Jac - We are at CI&S. :wave2: I hope we get there at a decent hour, my oldest DD wants to hit Ron Jon's and I'd like to go over to Grills or Rusty's for dinner.

We won't have a rental car so when the car service drops us off, we're stuck at CI&S until the next morning when we take the shuttle to the terminal! :rotfl2: My plan is to check in to the hotel, order pizza and then spend some time at the pool. I think the kids will need some time to burn off energy from a long day at the airports!

JD: Thanks for the Princess Calendar link.. I've printed it out and now my DD is officially counting down the days!!!

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

You're welcome. I have the Princess calendar on my desk at work and love marking the boxes every day. I also love informing friends and co-workers of the countdown. 23 days!!!! :cool1: :woohoo:

thanks for the info about shipping and mnsshp,
to those wondering about carseats on port, thats one reason i am taking the water taxi on st martan, then there is a beach and shopping right there, also I think water taxi is like 5 dollars for all day and kids free under a certain age
on the travel channel tonight there is a show about cruises dos and don't alot of info on disney cruise also, it is really getting me excited:dance3:

Hi all... hope everyone is doing well....:thumbsup2
Welcome to all the new "DIS" ers...you couldn't have picked a better group.:grouphug: .  :dance3:
I would really love to have my rm# but I knew booking GTY is was gonna be a wait...I really did think I would know something after Labor Day..o'well....:rolleyes1.... I'll wait...like I have a choice.

:cheer2: ...I AM SO READYTO GO...who's with me:cheer2:

We're flying in on thursday too!! We're just going to take it easy on thursday (note: must buy wine on thursday to take on the cruise) and then go to MK on friday.. we haven't decided yet if we're just going to go to MK at 4:30 as suggested (thanks for that great tip!) or go the whole day and go back at around 9pm.. BTW, will there be fireworks at MK? pixiedust:

For those doing the MNSSHP, your kids will be in halloween costumes then? I can't wait to take pics and video of my DD trick or treating in DisneyWorld!! What a treat! princess:

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

Groovy,
My girls will be Cinderella and Belle. Believe it or not, I'm going to be Snow White (which is even funnier since I have red hair!) and DH is reluctantly (but sweetly) wearing a Prince Charming costume! We've never dressed up for Halloween with the kids or at all in the 10 years we've been married, and we're not really the costume type. But we thought "what the heck", there ought to be good photo opps in front of the castle and no one at WDW knows us!!:rotfl:

We are flying in a week before, doing WDW and then MNSSHP on Friday night. Kids got there costumes yesterday. Us too. (Jay and I got....pirate costumes.) My DD and Dniece are doing Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique and then we are going to do MNSSHP.

Cruise is for relaxing. Can't wait.:cool2: :coffee:

Sue, are your DD and Dniece doing the BB Boutique at Downtown Disney or in MK? WHat time? My two DD are going to be in the one at Downtown Disney at 1:30 on Friday. Maybe we'll see you there??:yay:

Hi everyone! I'm new to disboard, so please be kind! (actually I'm new to all boards, don't ask me where I have been, under a rock or something!) I'm sailing on the Magic on 9/29 and found your thread, but it's so hard getting through 153 pages! I would love to meet to be part of a "group" onboard! Is there a condensed version? I'm traveling with my DH (I had to ask my sister what in the world these abbrevations meant!) who is 38, myself, 31, and my DS 3 & 5.

:wizard: Welcome to our group!! As you can tell, we are very friendly! Looking forward to meeting you in just a few short weeks!!

MARIA: Are the rides still open until 9 or 10pm? I think we'll just get there at around 4pm then... I think 5 hours at the park for a 3 yr old is enough time.. we usually go to DL for a couple of hours.
Yes....the rides are all operational until the party is over (midnight). I agree, 5 hours is alot of stimulation for a little one. But if you leave at 9 pm, you'll most likely miss the Halloween fireworks/parades. I think the fireworks are at 9:30'ish. The parade shows 2 times---> approximately 8 and 10 pm. You'll get exact times when you enter the MK.

vpalmer says : Pauline and anyone else with small kids going to MNSSHP,

We did the Halloween Party last year and the Christmas party two years ago, You guys will have so much fun!
Hey !? Those of us with "big" kids love it too ! My girls are teens and they cannot wait for MNSSHP ! pirate: This is our 4th party and hopefully not our last :wizard: :hippie:

ibela....thanks for the link

JDBlair : I have the Princess calendar on my desk at work and love marking the boxes every day. I also love informing friends and co-workers of the countdown. 23 days!!!!
I have a disney countdown on my desktop....I leave it up all the time so I know down to the second when we leave ! BTW, I think your day at CI&S sounds nice and relaxing.....we almost stayed there ourselves this trip but decided on staying in WDW just a few months ago. Then I considered the Ron Jon resort back in the spring but they were sold out.

We arrive around noon on Friday and plan to hang out at SSR and get some food before heading to the MK around 4:00 for MNSSHP. I dont mind a quick meet there just let me know when and where. We are wearing some mickey head t-shirts that I made. I actually got the idea from these boards. I was going to do costumes but I want us to be comfortable. We plan to get in as many rides as we can before all the fun kicks off.
Sounds like a plan Zane Anthony ! We'll firm up a time/place soon. :)

:cheer2: ...I AM SO READYTO GO...who's with me:cheer2:

ME too! I'm ready and I've been ready to go!!!!

My girls will be Cinderella and Belle.

Looks like all the princesses will be there... who would like to add to this list of princesses??? maybe a prince or pirate?Tink: I HAVE to get a pic the girls all together!

Kudos to you for dressing up and even more kudos for getting your DH to dress up! What did you bribe him with??? :rotfl2:

Also... what and where is the BB boutique? Will it be fun for my DD3 going on 4? Most importantly is this something that we have to stand in line for??

Did you guys check out the new PALO menu from the Wonder? I was already drooling. For you guys who have been to Palo, can you order more than 1 item if you'd like to try another appetizer or entree or two.. or three..

I will have to find an over the door shoe hanger tomorrow... we don't have a dollar store anywhere here.. I'll have to check out Big Lots.

Though my girls are teens, I can tell u about it. It's located in DD (Marketplace), inside the World of Disney store. Another one just opened in the MK near the castle. I believe reservations are strongly suggested. Here's some more info on the BBB:

I wish they had this when my girls were little !

I have looked into the water taxis on st martin, how about st thomas / st john? any ideas on what to do with car seats there since there are no beaches around without taking a taxi? thanks again!

Aww, sounds like you guys are going to have so much fun at MNSSHP!

I'm with JD- we're planning for a relaxing Friday night as well (um, after we pick up our car rental, check in, get dinner, and do a liquor run I guess).

As for at the ports, I'm just going to hold dd super tight and hope for the best I guess. :scared1:

Ready here!!! :yay:

You guys going to MNSSHP are going to have a blast! It's my favorite party at Disney. Our family has dressed in an Alice in Wonderland theme, pirates one year, and last year we were the Average Joes from the movie Dodgeball.

We've always had such great experiences dressing up. Lots of comments from guests and CMs alike. Great photo ops too! :thumbsup2 I'm going with some friends later in October when I'm down for the ToT 13K. We're going as Mouseketeers. :earsgirl:

We thought about going this year before the cruise, but I think we're going to keep it low-key and have a day at the CBR pool then an early evening at DTD.

Y'all have fun! You should have plenty of candy treats that you can munch on while in the Buena Vista Theater. :)

First off :welcome: to all our newbies. This is a great group of DISers.

To all of you who are taking your kids out of school for this vacation, how did the school react? I just let my school know, and they were not very nice about it. They let it go because she is only 5. They said if she was 6 and in first grade, they would withdraw her for missing 5 days. They are unexcused abscenses and considered truency. I was actually shocked that they go to the extreme of withdrawing your child! I'm lucky we decided to go this year. Did anyone else have trouble with this?

:cheer2: ...I AM SO READYTO GO...who's with me:cheer2:

Ooh, ooh! I am, I am!

I keep trying to pack stuff, only to find out I need it for something. It's driving me nuts to not be able to go ahead and pack. And it's driving my DH nuts because he thinks it's waaay too early to be packing (poor guy just doesn't get it - he really is missing half the fun).

My DD3 is very excited. She is diligently crossing off each day on the princess count down, and announces each day that when they're all crossed off, she gets to go on the big boat with Snow White and Mickey and (list continues indefinitely).

The only thing I can't understand is why September 29 isn't here yet!

We'll need to rest up in order to go full steam ahead on the 29th. When I hit that terminal, it will be GO time!!!

I got mine at Target for $5. I figure I can find something to use it for when we get home.

:

Yeah, not sure how relaxing it will truly be but definitely don't want to add to the insanity. I'm already thinking of ways for DH to do shots in the airports so he doesn't start wigging out on me! :scared1:

I think schools get their funding based on attendance. Don't quote me but I recall hearing that one time.

Ooh, ooh! I am, I am!

I know! It's like, where is it already?? My DD3 is the same. She walked in to day care this morning and announced, "I'm going on the Mickey Boat in 3 weeks, right mommy?" And I'm just standing there grinning from ear-to-ear! RIGHT!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: 3 weeks from today we will be flying the friendly skies!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:

OMG! Wow! My DD will be in preschool (they start next week - delayed due to electrical problems at school). Your DD is in kindergarten then? I can't believe that they would react like that! I've heard from one of the preschool teachers here in my area that they are actually going to or have already been charging parents per DAY (I THINK she said it was like $35/day) that they're taking their kids out of school! The reason is that the district gets an amount from the gov't for every day that each child attends school.. this is how they're funded I guess. We even get email bulletins stating they highly recommend that you take your family vacations during school holidays. Luckily, my DD will only be in public school this year and next.. so grade school years will be in a private school... which I heard is much more lenient to vacationing families????? :confused3
