September 29, 2007 - Magic

Also...Tonya....got the DVC VAK today ! It JUST arrived, so I haven't checked it out yet. Wow...this place is gonna be huge ! I don't think there should be too much trouble getting a reservation here if it's not your home resort ? As long as you call at the 7 month window. When I buy more time, I think I want the VWL. I just love the WL. We have 175 points at OKW now. When we purchased, OKW/BWV/VB/HH were the only ones that existed.

Yes, I got mine yesterday too  I haven't had a chance to look at it so I don't know how big it's going to be but I am thinking about adding on there. I really like the theming there. I have also considered an add on at VWL. That is one place I never thought would appeal to me. When we were there this past November we went and ate at WCC and it was all decorated for Christmas and it was absolutely beautiful. I did not look like what I was expecting at all. There is just something about the word "wilderness" to does not appeal to me..but WOW :scared1:

Jajoma....thanks for the head's up ! I'm not paying $200 for us to get passports if they're not going to be here in time. I wonder if I call the post office if they can give me a timeline ? Is that who you went through to get them ?

Mia,
We applied at the post office but I use the goverment web site to check the status http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html
We all so debated on even getting them this year but we live so close to Canada and like to do last minute trips...I thought we might as well just get it now and be done with it.

On the formal night question..my "boys" will dress up with me, they just don't know it yet...lol:laughing:

Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend...:grouphug: We are kicking ours off with going to the Drive-in (yes they still exist, and it's only 3 miles from our front door) to see the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" I feel llike its my obligation as a 1st time cruiser to do as much research as possible..and not to mention "Jack Sparrow" is so ....Hot!!!!!

There was a Blog posted of 2 sisters and their mother on the Med cruise. One of the girls is in the pool and the waves are incredible. Their Blog is hilarious. I can't imagine being out to sea like that for days if I was with my mother and sister. :scared1: I imagine we'd be very close to a "woman overboard" situation if that were the case! :lmao:

JD,

I would have jumped overboard in Port Canaveral if i had to spend that long on a ship with my mother and sister:eek: ....just kidding..."Gotta love the family God gave ya...but ya sure don't have to like it!!!!":rotfl2:

Tonya,
I think they're saying 750-850 rooms total by the end of all construction phases. That's on par with the size of SSR.

Christa - How was the movie?? popcorn:: There's a drive-inn here, as well, but it's not as close as yours is. Besides, you'd have to keep your car on to run the A/C! :lmao: I read Jack Sparrow doesn't make an appearance for the 1st 30 minutes. Also, I hear Elizabeth Swann is in every scene-:sad2:

I just read one of the Med live Trip Reports. Yeah I don't think I'm interested in 6-7 days at seas, rough seas and napping all the time! :confused3 The 2 reports I have read, the people are sleeping. Is that because of the seas or what? :confused3 I hope I don't sleep the whole time we're on our cruise! :sad2:

Page 16.

I see that you are on the Westbound PC Repo. DH and I are on it too. It will be fun to get to know you before we cruise together again.

Thanks!! When I saw that necklace last year and the price I decided to take three craft pearls about the same size as my GOOD pearl chocker, wire them together and put that on a lobster-claw clasp. I clip that onto the middle of the string of the pearls and have a Mickey Pearl pendant for a lot less money and no one would know the difference if I did not tell them, but I do because I am so tickled with the economy of it.

I like to pack so that dresses are worn more than once but with different jewelry to make them seem different.
The last times we went on 7 night cruises I packed a white lacy blouse, a long black skirt, a two-piece off-white Mexican dress, my "little black dress", and my day clothes. I wore each dinner-outfit twice but with different jewelry.
For Pirate night I wore the Mexican dress with the black skirt over it and hiked up on one side so the long white skirt showed like a wench's slip. I put one of my swim wraps around my waist like a scarf, wore a long black wig and tied a bandana (folded skinny like a headband) over the top of my head. I had a vest over top of the Mexican blouse. I wore Tevas and put a parrot costume on my little blue TY bear so he had a costume too.
DH has a Pirate Captain costume, a dressy one, not a worn-out one like Captain Jack. DH is not a scruffy pirate.

JD,
We saw it last night....it's definitely long, but we really liked it. True.....Jack isn't in the first 30 min or so. He is stuck in the limbo that is Davy Jones Locker and the others go off to rescue him. So the first 30 min they plan how they will do this. E. Swann definitely has a much larger part in the movie.
I think some may feel it could have been a little shorter, but we just loved it.

Why is E Swann taking such a dominating role in this movie? :confused3 She's just supposed to be off to the side. I want Jack Sparrow front and center at all times!! ;) I can't wait to see it. I haven't asked DH yet when we'll see it this weekend but I'm pretty sure it's soon!! :woohoo:

JD,
Just got home from drive-in...loved the movie pirate: ........and there were numerous scenes with numerous "Jacks"......... Well worth staying up untill 2am.....lol

DH is making us iron on decals to make our own t-shirts for embarkation. So exciting. I don't think we'll be wearing lime green t-shirts though!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

Thanks for sharing. Fun photos! Glad to know someone else dresses their stuffed travel buddies. My MY PAL MICKEY is wearing my Pirate Bandana from 2005.

:thumbsup2 Hi All,
Back to the 1st page we go.
I got my new pirate hat this weekend it looks great. the boots are a little tight in the calfs but I think I can fix that..
We'll be dressing for Pirate Night (GG and DW)...
have a nice night,
gg

Thrifty Rental Car has really good rates right now for rentals MCO (Orlando Int'l Airport) to Cape Canaveral and the return trip. I'm in for under $90 total for airport to port and return (less than 1 day each way) for a full-size (Dodge Charger or similar). I was really thinking about using the Disney shuttle but for less than the price of one RT shuttle I'll handle the luggage myself.

Where did you get the boots? DH could use some.

Do you know how close Thrifty is to the port ? I have Budget reserved for a bit more but they are very close to the port and offer free shuttle to and from. I may change to Thrifty if they are close and have shuttle service. Thanks.

Hmm, did you use a discount code? I'll go check it out, thanks!

Mia- I think they're just a few minutes further and they offer a free shuttle too. We were also going to purchase the Disney transfers but even with just the 2 of us we're saving money with a car rental and we're flying in the night before anyway so it'll be more convenient.

I just checked my passport status, don't remember exactly when I sent out for my passport but it was at least a month ago, it says it's being processed.

And I told dh about the thread discussion here on formal night and he said no way is he bringing his tux this time. I still have a few months to change his mind . . . ;)
