September 29, 2007 - Magic

We got 15 inches of snow here in Cleveland yesterday. It was the biggest snowstorm in this area since the blizzard of 1978. Call me crazy but I actually love a big snowstorm.

DH and I vacationed in Phoenix and Tuscon several times back in the '70's and '80's. We loved it there. I'm sure that it is really built up now. Would love to go back someday but our vacation dollars pull us to DCL and the beautiful blue waters of the Carribean.

Donna

You probabaly wouldn't even recognize it any more - it has grown tremendously. My husband has been here 10 years and can't believe the growth. And when I first moved here over 4 years ago, I kept commenting how expensive it is here. So, don't blame you for putting your vaca dollars towards somewhere else! Especially a place with water! :lmao:

hi Donna! :wave2: After reading your post I think I better try to call our friends in Parma and make sure they aren't snowed in! :scared1: We did try to talk them into going on the cruise but both of their sons play on the mites hockey team for Parma and they are really involved with that, so they won't be able to go. :-(

I haven't been on in awhile so I would like to say "Welcome" to all of the newcomers! :welcome:

Hi Deweysgirl! Yep, it was quite a storm. And soooo cold. I like the snow but the single digit and below zero temps we have had for a few weeks are really hard to take.

JDBlair, I'm sure I wouldn't even recognize the Phoenix area. I probably wouldn't even care for it as much since I have come to love cruising and the Carribean.

MiaSRN62, I am sure that my daughter, Shannon, would agree with you...yes, I am

Phoenix is great in the winter. But what we put up with in the summer always rises the question, "When should we move to another state?" I swear, the heat out here fries these peoples brains and they go insane. It's no shock we had 2 Serial Killers on the rampage, at the same exact time, during the summer!

Ok, now I know where I'm NOT spending my next vacation. :rotfl:

We had some snow too (New Jersey) and ice and all I could think about was this cruise! My husband thinks I'm nuts obsessing. I asked him how he wanted to work Palo while not missing any shows (although at 18 months she may not enjoy it?) and her not missing a regular dinner and he was just like "gee, too bad you only have until July before you can make any reservations". Then he said I should do what the others said and to book at 3am (while he's sleeping of course). :surfweb: Um, do you guys actually do that?? Secretly wondering if I should or if it's overkill . . . . :rolleyes1

Yeah mom you definately are a little  You must be :smokin: something.

It's pretty to look at but thats enough for me. I couldn't hardly walk the next day after shoveling the drive. I think it's time for a snow blower.

The snows so deep my dog couldn't go to the bathroom because she got ate by the snow. And she is a lab mix!

Ok I need a cruise now!

I think it's best to book at 3 AM and get a reservation than to run around the ship the day of the cruise hoping to get a reservation. If Palo is important to you, I don't think it's crazy to get up at 3 AM and reserve the date and time you want.

Ibela-Definately not crazy or overkill to do the 3am bit. I did it for the last cruise and still didn't get what I wanted. Things were booking up and going like crazy, I played with a couple of times and when I went back in to book, it was gone! This all transpired between 3am and 3:30am!!! My suggestion is to know what you want, prioritize it, then go in at 3am and start booking like crazy!!! It's exciting though, I'm like you with the OCD planning, but to me that's half the fun! ;)

I know the first 3 nights are probably not the best to book for Palo, but not sure about the rest of the week's dinner arrangements. I've only sailed on the western, not sure what the Eastern does??? Does anyone know what night our pirate night will be?

Hello, everyone!

It's been snowy here in TN this weekend.:cold: Makes me wish it were time to cruise!:sail:

We also get up at 2 a.m. (if I remember correctly, because we're on Central time) and make ressies. We make Palo brunch reservations first, then go for dinner. I haven't gotten around to figuring out what nights we will want this time. Has anyone figured out what all the nights are yet?

It's supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow.:sunny:

Hope everyone's doing well!

Jamie:teacher:

Deweysgirl, Pirate Night was on St. Maarten day when we cruised last May so I think it will be on the same night for us this time. Makes it extra rough for parents to get the little ones to St. Thomas immigration the next morning.

We had another five inches of snow here today.

Shannon, you have to show me how to "quote".:confused3

Hit the quote button mom!:sad2:

Oh my, looks like I've scared everyone away with what Shannon calls my "totally blonde moment". Believe me, you don't have to live in Phoenix in the summer to have a fried brain. I have raised teenagers...that will do it!:rotfl: At least I haven't turned into a serial killer!:thumbsup2 Come on people, talk to me or I will just have to keep replying to myself. Yes, I do talk to myself. It's that fried brain thing.

AW You haven't scared me away ragdoll.

Its just been a very off week for me. Also busy. But I've nearly got my balance back so its all good.

Hope everybody is having a great week:banana:

OMG, it works! I am now a computer genius!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:lmao: You and your daughter are too funny! You remind me a lot of me and my Mom!

Thanks for the info on the pirate night. I think we've decided to try for either Wednesday or Thursday for Palo. I think Friday is the farewell dinner or something like that, so I guess that's the chance to say goodbye to the wait staff and give your tips, etc. We better show up for that or they might not think we received EXCELLENT service! :p

You didn't scare me away! You COULDN'T scare me away! I'm looking forward to this way too much! As for talking to yourself, I do it all the time. Don't tell them that! :scared1: I just did. Don't tell me that. :sad2: Too late. :rotfl:

OK, enough of that!
