September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Hellooooooo new Fantasy Friends!!!

I just firmed things up with my TA switching us to this sailing so we're in! :dance3: I have yet to swim thru all 30-something pages of your thread so bear with me. I'm just so excited I wanted to go ahead and introduce us and start the happy-dancin... :cheer2:

I'm Kelly..the old lady..will be 38 fabulous years old at the time of sailing. My sidekick..er..my old man, Tracey, who will be 40 years old next year will be along for the adventure. Yikes! The big 4-ooooh! We'll be bringing along our boys: Chandler (16 @ sailing) & Brian (14 @ sailing). Our hometown is currently Port Arthur, Texas which is a little over an hour outside Houston on the coast. I'd love to give you a stateroom # but we don't have that yet. We're a 6A GTY. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but either way I'm treating our surprise room assignment as part of the adventure. Heehee!

We juuuust got home from our most recent WDW adventure and first ever cruise. We did 5 nights at the WL, 3-night Dream, and 6-nights at the YC. It was quite the long trip. We loved the cruise, looooved the Dream, but felt like it was waaaaay too short. Being our first cruise we learned a lot from the experience. Sadly, just when we were figuring things out it was time to get off the ship. I felt like I didn't have time to do hardly anything I wanted to. Soooo, we're ready to get back onboard but for a longer trip. Not sure if we'll pair any WDW time with this cruise. We weren't so thrilled with the parks with hot weather but loooooved Stormalong Bay. Maybe we'll just go spend a week at the Yacht Club again. :thumbsup2

Off to start swimming thru the thread.... :goodvibes

Welcome to our group. This will be our tenth cruise and it all started with a three day that was just way too short. This next September should prove to be a very goods time to cruise with loved ones and all our new found friends. Ron will be around soon and will add you to the roll call. Make sure to visit page one, post one as that is the place where we are putting together all our plans and other important information. Lois

Hey all,
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. :goodvibes Since several of you were good with naming our thread "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy" I'll put that as our thread title. I know Jen (nenner1) will come up with some cool graphics to go with the name. Maybe even a cool logo for us :). Maybe some of you could come up with some neat graphics to share...:confused3 I'd be interested in seeing what you creative types can come up with. :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard sweetpee, you will so love sailing for seven nights anything less than is just like you said "Sadly, just when we were figuring things out it was time to get off the ship."
Glad you had a great first cruise you picked the right cruise line for sure!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to let you know I finally started my new TR. It will compare and contrast the RCCL Dreamworks Experience aboard Allure of the Seas to the similar experience aboard DCL. If you have heard about it and wanted to learn more, or to just follow along with us on our last cruise experience do check it out:

Shrek Takes on Mickey: The Dreamworks Experience aboard Allure of the Seas 9/18-25

Hope you like! :goodvibes

I'm subbed. :thumbsup2

My BiL who loves to rib us about our Disney love is a big RC fan. I never would give up a Disney trip to cruise with him but I did finally cruise DCL. That's my compromise. So now I gotta get him to sail DCL....

When we first sailed on DCL in December 2009, we were docked next to Oasis in Nassau. It was HUGE. I have read all the posts so far on your TR and am anxiously awaiting more! We may be moving over to RCCL as the kids get older. I know my DS would love the flow rider and zip line (as would I)!

Our kids definitely loved the flowrider and zipline. Probably not as much as I did;).

I have a quick question. I am planning the return flight and want to try out the Onboard Airline Check-In service. But in the FAQ section, it shows "scheduled flights must be after 11:25 a.m. on the day your cruise ends". The flight I want to book is 10:57AM. Is this acceptable? The next flight would be 1:30PM and we would rather board the earlier flight if possible. Thank you for your input in advance.

I'm sure you can use the Onboard check-in service the question would be is if you are using Disney's Magical Express service? I think if you drove yourself to the port (rental car) or are planning to take a taxi to the airport you should not have a problem. If you are using DME you will need to call DCL and find out weather you can.
Hope that helps

You cannot use the on board Airline checkin if your flights are befor 11:25. The reason being is that DCL cannot get your bags to the airport in time for the flights that leave prior to that time.

So your options are risk an eariler flight and take your bags to the airport yourself or book a later flight and let DCL handle the bags. The other item to check is to assure that the Airline you plan to use is included in the DCL onboard check-in program.

Another possible problem is that each Airline has the option of not accepting certain passagers in the program even when everything else is as it should be. This happened to my sister when she cruised last and although she had completed all the paperwork she needed to take her bags to the airport with her. She was not happy. But I was told that they do this every so often. I do not know what the red flags are but those are some out there. Lois

Just 350 Days :scared1: I better start packing :laughing::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I have a "cruise drawer" with cruise wear (tags still on) in it.....Actually a lot of stuff in it.....:rotfl: Darn end of summer sales. They get me every time:laundy:

I love having special new stuff I've saved for any vacation. Just adds to the special-ness of the adventure. :cutie:

I have a large plastic bin (tucker tote) that I keep all my cruise/Florida wear packed in and out of the way. I can be ready at a moments notice.

Everything is now laid out and sorted by checked or carry-on bag, and waiting to be packed. Fly to Italy Tuesday for Adventures by Disney followed by RCI cruise. Our 1st time to Europe. DH is working very hard right now to keep me under control.

OMG!!! That's how I feel too:lovestruc Every now and then, for no reason at all, on Saturday mornings when everyone is asleep, except the 4 dogs, we sneak into my bedroom and try not to wake my hardworking hubby, open the "cruise drawer" and look at my vacation to be stuff. Then I gather my doggies and we try to slip out the bedroom door quietly:lovestruc I'm like a little kid but this little kid is 47 years old!!!!

After 13 years, DH has given up on trying to curb my enthusiasm for gathering cruise stuff "TWO YEARS EARLY" before we sail:rotfl2: Instead, he is happy with the $$$$ I am saving on the clothes. Just wait till he lets me loose on the cruise ship and those shops!!!!

Sweetpea and Sssteele, you two are my type of people!

Just a little note to let you know my mother had hip surgery/replaced yesterday and for the most part doing pretty good.

For those of you that know her from going on previous cruises know she is in a wheelchair due to her muscle disease. Before she was able to get around the house (or her stateroom) with a walker, but the last couple of months he couldn't walk 5 feet becouse she was in so much pain. We know she will always need the wheelchair and walker but we are hoping this new hip will make her be able to get around (with the walkler) like before. If this surgery was not successful she will not be able to go on the cruise. She really want to go on this cruise to see the new ship and to see all of you who have sailed with us before. (Plus I need her handicapped stateroom for the tour) Ha Ha.

P.S. We are having beautiful weather her in Ohio, mid 70's low 80's.
