September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

This has been a long week so far...long story short. My husband was injured on the job 4 years ago- He works for the sheriffs dept. He had a pretty severe head injury that resulted in a seizure and 3 different areas of compression fractures in his spine. He was in the hospital for 6 weeks, out of work for 15 months. After lots of therapy and healing time, he has made huge strides in his recovery. Life has gotten pretty much back to normal the last year or so.

Well, Monday night, while I was at work, I got a phone call from my 8 year old saying that daddy was having another seizure. She called 911 and kept her 3 year old sister calm. She did an awesome job and we are so proud of her. However, my husband wasn't so lucky - he had 2 violent seizures. Even though the x-rays came back negative, his spinal doc is ordering an MRI because he thinks he may have refractured his back. My husband is walking (with a cane) but is in quite a bit of pain. He is also having some temporary neuro issues as a result of the seizures. So it looks like we are in for another long road to recovery. But we do what we have to do and we will get through this just like we got through it before.

We have a cruise coming up in 2 weeks for our anniversary, but we are not sure if we are going to have to cancel it or not. We are hoping that we don't have to...the relaxation may be what he needs.

If anyone can spare some extra pixie dust and/or prayers, we would appreciate it! I'll keep everyone updated on his progress.

Many Prayers and LOTS of Pixie Dust. A cruise will be the perfect recovery therepy!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's troubles. I hope he has a speedy recovery and that you guys can make it on your cruise.

The way your 8 y/o reacted to that situation was amazing.

You have all my Pixie Dust for a full recovery. Your attitude will get you through this. I will also keep you and the family in my thoughts and prayers. Lois

Ahoy Mates,

I was just on the DCL web sight and I noticed they named the formal restaurant The Royal Court (Royal Palace on the Disney Dream). The Atruim Statue is going to be Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse. Looks like things are moving along pretty good on our ship:cool1:

Hope everyone has a good week.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Ahoy! It's going to be such a beautiful ship. I'm so happy we chose the Fantasy for our first cruise.

A good week to you as well! :)

Found us on page three so I thought I would drop in and add a post to move us back up to page one. I hope all had a great week-end.

My prayers go out to everyone who lives in the Joplin Missouri area. The news reports are just sending chills down my spine mostly because could have just as easily been Kansas City as Joplin. I do know at least one person who was injuried. I understand that MinnieL (Lorie) and her husband both lost tjheir lives yesterday in Joplin. I do not know her but another Disers who I do know reported the loss.

On another note I could use some prayers for Direction tomorrow morning. We got a new director in December and she is really a mess. So a person from the State office is coming up to KC to speak with some of the staff. I need to remain calm and be able to tell this person what issues I have had in attempting to work with her. I want to just give the facts and not make to big a deal but I want to be heard as well. That is a very fine line to walk. So any positive thoughts or pixie dust will be gladly accepted.

Well I had better close for now. How many more days do we have? Just way too many!! Lois

Woohoo! We will be going the weekend of Sept 23-25 (I think those are the dates.) We are staying at AKL for the first time and doing MNSSHP on Friday night. We won't be going into the parks except for MNSSHP...just hanging at AKL and enjoying the pool. Probably hit Downtown Disney as well. Where will you be staying?

I guess today went well. I didn't really get to talk with this person because she got a late start and some who went first took more than their alotted time. I was able to give her what was written up and she said she would call me. So I guess only time will tell if things will get better. Thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts. Maybe things will work out in the end. They most always do. Lois

We are going Sept 24-Oct 1 and we will be staying at POR. Hope I don't regret it, a little worried about the double beds there but the grounds and everything else looks so nice!

Janet and I stayed there at POFQ a few years ago and loved it. I am sure you will enjoy the resort. Lois

They both look like really nice resort. I choose Riverside because I liked the Alligator Bayou theming and the food court is suppose to be good. POFQ rooms have been newly refurbished with queen size beds and they are starting POR soon, hopefully we will get a newly refurbished :)

It's been a while since I've stayed here (POR - aka Dixie Landings!) but I always loved it! I have only stayed in the Mansion section but never had any issues. And yes, the food court was one of our favorite things. The restaurant here is also very good.

We've stayed at both POR and POFQ and loved both, but we love POR the best! Our fave mod by far. We always stay in Alligator Bayou. They do have a great food court, but I'm not a picky eater, so I might not be the best judge for that. They do have those yummy beignets at POFQ, though! So we just hop the boat and take a leisurely trip down the Sassagoula River. I did read that the FQ now has the queen beds. But I think POR will be getting them too. Also, I believe that they are doing the new Royal Princess themed rooms in part of POR. They look beautiful!

The only thing we don't like about POR is Boatwrights restaurant. They used to serve breakfast, which was wonderful, but they don't do that anymore :( We tried dinner there a year or so ago and did not like it at all. Very overpriced for what we got. And it wasn't very good food. Won't do dinner there again. We do miss breakfast though.

We also love the extra activities they have at POR - the fishing hole, carriage rides, pirate cruise for the little ones...and the pool is a blast! You're going to love it there :)

I think no matter which section we are in we'll love but i'd love Alligator Bayou, looks so peaceful there :)

That's a big part of the reason why we chose this moderate. My DH like the fishing hole activity and I liked the boat ride to DTD. Originaly we had choosen CBR.
