Welcome! So glad to have you join us! I added you to our FB page :)

What a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary. My DH and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary on a Carnival cruise and had a wonderful time  Looks like our kids will be about the same age at the time of sailing (9 and 5!)

Good Morning to all. I am begining to think that my life has become one BIG crisis. There is now a wild fire just 8 miles from my fathers home. He is in the evacuation area and low and behold when I call his land line He answers. Tells me that he is making sure that his neighbors do not get looted. Then he says if the Trailer burns there will be no reason for us to fly out next week. Yes we are schedule to leave next monday for a visit. I then say you will not be able to keep the trailer from burning and if you leave I will not need to come out for your funeral. I used some additiuonal colorful words.

He said he has left but I really do not know if I believe him. So once again I am asking for prayers or Pixie dust for the folks in the Hereford / Sierra Vista area in Arizona. At least 50 homes have been lost and a National park lost at least most of the buildings. It is far from over so now I do not know if I will be going to stay and visit with family or to try to find my father a new place to live until we can get a new home set up for him. All this is sure making me recognize how good I really have it right now!!

Well I had better get ready and head in for a long day at work. Hope everyone has a magical day. Lois

Hello my fellow DISers! :grouphug: We just returned from a double dip on the Dream, and rebooked this cruise onboard. We did a Eastern on the Magic and I'm so excited that the Eastern fell on our dates for next year.

It looks like the pre-cruise fun is well underway and I can't wait to get to know everyone. This cruise will be our 7th Disney cruise and, if the Dream is any indication of how awesome the Fantasy is going to be, we are all going to be lovin' life come next September.

Cruising will be me (Crystal), my hubby, Randy, and our 8 year old daughter, Ansley.

Well, I'd better spend some time catching up on the thread. Have a great day everyone! :goodvibes

Lois - you are certainly having an interesting and stressful year!! You are definitely going to need this cruise!!!! My prayers are with your father and the families being impacted by these fires.

Welcome!!!

Hey there everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your summer!

I finally have *my* computer back! yay! It has been one electronic catastrophe after another around here (it seems I always have some device or another broken. Geek Squad needs to make us a private service line, as frequently as we find ourselves there! Haha!) Couple that with my beinng sick and our vacation before that it seems like it has been forever since I've been "around"!

Lois, I am so sorry to hear of your troubles, you know we are thinking of you right now and hope that your father fares well with the fire out west. Those wildfires can be crazy. Sending lots of pixie dust your way!

And a big :welcome: to all of the new families joining us! So happy to be sailing with you, I love watching our group grow!

We have lots to look forward to in the next 15 months! If it moves as fast as the last few have for me, it will be here before I know it! :rotfl2:

Happy Monday to you all!
:) Jen

Welcome! I've added you to the roll call on post one. :)

Any chance you'll do a TR for your Dream cruise? I'd be happy to read it! :goodvibes

Ron

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. :goodvibes

Ron, as to a TR, I was actually a total slacker in the photo department this trip (which really is a first for me). I think we have a couple pictures of the Dream at Castaway Cay and maybe one or two of our stateroom, and since a TR is no TR without loads of pictures, I would fail miserably, I'm sure. However, I'm happy to answer any questions or share a quick report about what we thought and what we did. Suffice to say that we were duly awed by the Dream, although there were some minor surprises/annoyances about various things (i.e., the size of the kids pools (small), the food (seemingly unchanged from the Wonder, especially Palo) that I hope are improved upon with the Fantasy. But, the ship is just amazing and full of surprises, and I'm sure that the Fantasy is going to be even moreso. :lovestruc

No specific questions, other than are the pools really as small as they appear in the photos???:confused3 I really hope they've had enough feedback from everyone to make them consider making them a little bigger (and nicer looking) on the Fantasy. Maybe they could take a look at what RCCL has done with their Freedom class and Oasis class ship's pool areas and get some inspiration from that. :rolleyes1 I'm still very excited even if the pools are not up to par. :goodvibes I'm glad to hear that the ship was overall amazing. :thumbsup2

Ahhhhh, the pools. Yes, they are indeed small. But, I will say that the size didn't deter any of the children from swimming wall-to-wall and having a great time. It was laughable that the Donald Pool had a posted maximum of 30 people...I don't think it went under that the entire cruise. BUT, the ship did have a TON of beach loungers everywhere, so there was never a lack of a place to sit (and I found with this cruise that people seemed to not be as chair hoggy as I've experienced with other Disney cruises). However, a word of warning (unless Disney improves this with the Fantasy), the pool decks are super hot - - literally your bottoms of your feet will get burned off if you aren't careful (and keep in mind, this extends all the way up to the Aquaduck). After we "got burned" the first time, it turned into quite an amusement for DH and I to watch the unknowns walk across the pool decks with no shoes on. You could almost hear the "ouch, ouch, ouch, yeeeeeoooouuuccchhh" as they started off walking, then running, then taking leaping strides on their tiptoes to get across the decks. :rotfl: We'll be investing in water shoes for our September cruise for sure!!

AND, the adult pool was pretty cool too, with the bamboo lounger thing inside the pool, the steam seats, and the bar right next to the pool (*and* the cushioney circular loungers around the adult pools were pure heaven). DH and I spent one sunset night snuggling and drinking coffee in one of those loungers and I swear it was one of the most relaxing events of my life. With my man, my coffee, the sunset, the ocean, and just a small breeze flowing in, it was heaven. :cloud9:

This sounds wonderful! I can't wait for some relaxation!

On another note, welcome to our cruise meet family! I think I recognize your names from our Disney cruise a couple years ago. Were u on the Magic Sept 26, 2009?

Oh my gosh, YES!!!! If you participated in the FE, we were the ones that gave the oversize keychain (that was a little scrapbookey). Were you guys part of the ATV excursion in St. Maarten? We are definitely planning on going on that again - - it was soooooo super cool! :goodvibes

I totally remember that! It was awesome! I still have it! I was a little less creative with ours and did little pirate goodie bags...pirate eye patches, tattoos, Mickey stickers, and other little goodies that I can't remember. I'm already brainstorming for what I'm going to do this time.

We aren't sure what we are doing for excursions this time. I know my DH and my DD are probably going parasailing at CC. They've been wanting to do this a long time. I'm not keen of heights, so I won't be participating in that! The ATV thing sounds fun, I'll keep it in mind!

If you are on FB, don't forget to join our FB page :)

Hey all, I had a request to join our FB page from an Elizabeth. Not sure if this is "RNDisney" or not. RNDisney - if it is you, can you tell me what your profile pic is? I just want to know that I'm confirming the right people for our group page. Thank you!!!

By this cruise, my DD will *finally* be old enough to do the jetskis at CC so that, and the ATV excursion at St. Maarten, will do it for us. We tried the butterfly farm in St. Thomas in 2009 and were pretty unwhelmed, so we will probably just stay on the ship and explore when we dock at St. Thomas.

I just sent a request to join FB too. I love that we already have such an active group. :goodvibes

I just realized I owed some more information for the roll call. We are in stateroom 9543 and we have main dining. :goodvibes
