Kathy - Hope you are doing well.

Question about parking - I found this site http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/maps/portmaps.php?mapid=flcanaveral
and was looking at the Disney terminal. It appears that there are two parking lots. One is right next to the terminal and another across the road from the terminal. Is the closest one reserved (handicapped, etc) or are both available (first come, first serve)?

Also, I think this site has been mentioned before. It has a tipping calculator. I would be interested in what the experienced cruisers think about its accuracy.

Thanks and see you all in a week.

Hi! Just one week from today many memories will begin on our wonderful cruise, can hardly wait!!

Does anyone know what time we can get off the ship in Key West and how late we can stay? Let me know if you have a moment!

Pixie dust to everyone! See you soon!

:thanks:

Bob one lot is reserved for the magic cruises, and the other for the wonder cruises. We won't find out till we get there. Mike

Did my pre-cruise haircut. Nice and short so it can get burnt.

Unfortunately I think it went to short for hair braids so I can save some money there. :hippie:

Trying not to eat out all week.
Save money and also clear out fridge before we are gone. popcorn::

At this time next week I am going to be screaming.

WHERE IS THE STUPID SHUTTLE VAN!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Bored?

At about 4:55 EST

You should see the magic in port and then leaving.
You can request remote control of the camera.
(If you look now you can make out one of the DCL Magic's smoke stack's. Can't tell if it is the real one or the "STACK")

Then about 10 minutes later you will see the magic leave the channel from this camera.

You can also see the Carnival and RCL ships too.

This cam works too.

It is from the twopalms restaurant thingy.

Oh I am just getting way to excited! I can barely sleep. Wish I could barely eat. :rotfl:

1 Week! 1 Week! 1 WeeK!

Mike, Glad to hear that Kathy is alright. Chest pains can be very scary. A few years ago I ended up in the emergency room at Celebrations hospital with symptoms of a heart attack. It wasn't one and they couldn't figure out what it was. I felt better in a couple days and continued with the trip. Then I had the same thing happen at home. My doctor found out I have a crummy thyroid that was causing it. Now I'm medicated and feel great! ;)

Bob, we are staying the the Radisson. Since we are driving straight through from Illinois, we will likely be by the pool drinking beers and taking naps most of the day. If we meet up there, Steve and I would definitely buy a round of drinks.

Karen, Where are you staying on Friday?

OMG - that's so true! So far today I've devoured countless cookies and a DS's leftover pizza! :sad2:

...Karen, Where are you staying on Friday?
We've booked a room at the MCO Hyatt Regency, Eva. The Port Canaveral Radisson looks lovely... :thumbsup2

Can't believe that this time next week we'll be in the DCL terminal... :cloud9:

Ok, it's about 11:24 am CST, that would be 12:24 pm EST. Guess what? A bunch of us should be already on the ship exactly 7 days from now!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I was just looking at a website with the Magic at port and I started to think that Ann is already on there. As a matter of fact, she was on her the past 7 days! Lucky girl! I bet she is having a blast.

Had a long day today. Kathy had been having chest pains and we went and she had a cardiac catheterization done in the cardiac cath lab. The fluoroscope had broken and we had to wait 6 hours for the technicians to come and fix it. We arrived at the hospital at 6 am and did not leave until 6 pm tonight. Everything turned out fine with her heart. Had to get this girl and tune up and an oil change, before we cruised.:thumbsup2 Mike

OMG Kathy & Mike...how scarry. I'm glad to hear everythining turned out well.. Chest pains are scarry business....and nothing to fool around with.

We had some health issues pop up this week as well. Our youngest (Sydney 9) started complaining of stomach pains... Turns out she's having major irritation from her high dose Motrin (600mg TWICE a day for the last couple years)...that's a whopper of a dose in the first place and for a 50lb kids it's huge. Anyways after a quick trip to the peds and the parmacy to pick up some more new meds we're set to go. Cross our fingers that...that's all it is.

Plans for us...

Key West: Sight seeing, most southen point for photo op...Hard Rock cafe', Boars Nest and maybe some other bar hopping:goodvibes

Grand Cayman: Captian Marvins :cool1:

Cozumel: Paradise Beach and Duzl Ha for some snorkeling ;)

Castaway Cay: Snorkel and beach:thumbsup2 Oh DD 14 is doing the Teen excursion.

Well...I'm not sure how much more I'll be checking the fourm....CUZ we are leaving TODAY!!! :cool1:    :cheer2: :cheer2: I may be able to check in here or there...but I wouldn't count on it.

We will see you ALL a week from TODAY!!! :hippie:

Thanks FatCat. That was really cool watching the ship.

Sandi - I hope Sydney is feeling better. Poor thing...that is alot of meds for her tiny body. She is a tough one though and I know will be running around fine next week!!! Have a safe trip and we will see you next week!

Eva - I too would be napping by the pool after that drive. We did it once, that was enough for me. Although it was with a 2 year old and I was 7 months pregnant!! But now with an 11 year old and a 7 year old - I think it still would be too long for me!! They cannot be nice for 10 minutes to each other, I cannot imagine for a long drive.

Mike - keep Kathy well rested this week. Hope she feels better.

See everyone in a week!!

Kathy

Hello everyone! Hope your Sunday's going well... :goodvibes

We've made the final purchases for our trip this afternoon - well, DH has, I personally refuse to commit to such a statement! Who knows what shopping opportunities will present themself between now and Friday..? ;)

DH has just got the cases are down from the attic so time to get serious - I'm almost too excited!!! :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:

I'm freaking out a little bit. We still have to pack and I have been going over the tips and tricks trying to scramble to get everything ready. We leave Friday to stay in Palm Beach then drive up to the port on Saturday. Excited but anxious at the same time!!!:yay:

This may be the last day I will be posting before the cruise. Tomorrow morning our DGD is having out patient surgery for her adenoids and tubes in her ears. So we will be at the hospital all morning. Then I head out for meetings in Chicago and won't be back until late Wednesday night. I may get in a quick post on Thursday morning before going to work. I'll be leaving work at noon on Thursday to get back and pack the car. We are in hopes of being on the road between 2:00 and 3:00.

Well, that leaves today for packing for the cruise and my trip to Chicago. Yikes! It makes me nervous that I will forget something with so little time between trips. I guess I will just have to depend on my lists and hope for the best.

6 Days! WOW!

I am freaking out a bit too....I am the worst procrastinator and have not even begun to pack. I have lists in my head, but know that I will be adding to them and changing them until Friday morning!! I have tons of laundry to do still. I did most of my shopping though, so I have those outfits all together still. I just need to keep telling myself that I WILL get done! And for whatever I forgot, oh well. Nothing I can do about it, right?

pixiedust: and  to your DGD, Eva - hope the surgery goes well. Have a good (if hectic) week and I look forward to finally meeting you next Saturday!!! :goodvibes :woohoo: :thumbsup2

OMG!! Our's too!! Jordan is 3 and her speech has not progressed as expected and her speech therapist suggested she see an ENT. Don't know why the pedetrician did not catch this sooner. Will be thinking of them both on Monday. Wish we could be there to distract the parents.

Packing? We aren't leaving until Thursday. Plenty of time. I was thinking of Thursday morning myself.

We are cleaning up around the house today to make room to begin packing. Even though we were late to the board, thank you to everyone who gave us good suggestions for the cruise. Today my DD's are dressed as princesses getting ready for the cruise.

Good luck to everyone in this final countdown.
