September 2015 Countdown!

This is super crazy! I was just checking prices on flights again, even though we are already booked, and they went down significantly! Our flight down went down to $49 from $79. It went up for the day we fly back, but if we fly back a day later, it's only $49 to fly back! That's a savings of $170 compared to what we just paid. I'm going to try and convince DH to let us stay one more night, even with adding on a night at a value, it's still saving us around $100 plus we get an extra day at Disney!

Working on all the small things you have to do for when you are gone on vacation (paying bills, stopping mail, etc.). Starting to sink in that we will be leaving in less than 3 weeks!! Yikes!

Eek! Just saw that Tropical Depression 4 is very likely being upgraded to TS Danny and on Tracy to be in / near the gulf around our trip... Everyone THROW ALL YOUR PUXIE DUST at it!!!!

AAACK!!! POOF - pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: - GO AWAY TROPICAL DEPRESSION!!

I've been keeping an eye on the flights I purchased since SW offers credits toward future flights if the price goes down. Mine has actually gone up by $90 so I'm glad I bought mine early!

Hope your DH agrees to an extra night!!

We purchased through SW as well so we were able to get $60 in credit for our flight down, but it's not looking good for extending the trip by one more day. The $100 credit we would get for our flight back would be nice for a future flight. DH just doesn't want to take another day off of work. I already have that day off since we come back late and I didn't want to worry about being tired at work the next day so I'm all good. When he gets home from work I'm hoping we can talk a little more about it in person rather than on the phone. Still crossing my fingers!

Fingers crossed that you can end up staying another night!

We did extend our upcoming trip in January since the flights around MLK weekend were $200 more per person for our return flight so it was cheaper to use a few more points and stay an extra night. Good luck on the convincing!!

Just checked the extended forecast and it says "colder and less humid" with highs of 83/84 starting the day before we arrive and going through our entire trip!! Man, I hope this turns out to be true!!

No dice. :sad2: DH doesn't want to miss another day of work to get $100 in credit. If it were cash back, he'd be more likely to go for it. If he had more vacation time, he'd do it no questions asked. Work has been really slow for him lately so we have no idea whether or not he'll have a full day of work if we leave a day later. It's a risk he's not willing to take and I don't blame him. We have been very fortunate to add a day at the beginning of our trip because of flights. I was even willing to stay the extra day myself since I have the day off, but DH would feel bad that he's not there with me. We'll still have a fabulous time! Thanks for the encouragement everyone! :goodvibes

Magic bands arrived today! Finished up our shirts for the Pirates & Pals fireworks cruise & got the suitcases out & tagged... 25 days!
When are you doing the P&PF cruise? We are going 9/14. So excited for this as it our first time and our boys (ds6 & ds3) are big hook, smee, and pan fans.

Our magic bands came this past weekend. Was very impressed with the packaging.

25 days total / 16 days of work to go. CANNOT WAIT!!!

It's why this board is so great! DH is tired of me talking about our Disney plans and he only half listens when I do talk to him. So it's nice to have somewhere to go where everyone is just as Disney crazy as you are and are also already packing or constantly tweaking their plans.

You have a lot of ADRs like us, we are going for 10 days/9 nights and have booked tons...a lot of the ones you have booked as well!

Citrico's (dinner) - We ate here 2 years ago and really loved it. The food was great and the staff were all very friendly. I loved the dessert I got as it they made a chocolate crown to go behind it, it was very impressive! The cheese appetizer was also very good

Kona Cafe (dinner) - TONGA TOAST TONGA TOAST TONGA TOAST!!! That is if you like sweater breakfasts and bananas... But to me, I'm pretty sure they created this meal with me in mind :)

Be Our Guest (lunch) - We really enjoyed this restaurant. It's QS but it doesn't feel like it since you don't carry trays to your table and you get real silverware. Try the grey stuff!

California Grill (dinner) - If you are dining during fireworks, it might be worth asking them to hold your main course if it's due to come out right around fireworks. Otherwise, even if you're not dining during wishes, you can still go back to the lounge to watch the fireworks since you had dinner there.

Tusker House (brunch) - This is by far my absolute favorite meal in WDW. I love the restaurant theme and the food is great. They do have most of your basic Disney brunch buffet items, but they also have tons of other interesting food to try that no other buffet has.

Be Our Guest (lunch) <again> - Since you're eating here more than once, try to eat in a different dining room each time. There are 3 and they're all awesome.

Teppan Edo (dinner) - We love this dinner. The food is really good and the chefs are amazing. It's really run to just sit back and watch the show. And also, if cheesecake is your thing, try the green tea cheesecake, SO YUMMY!
Thanks soooooo much for the feedback and the tips. Glad to get some positive reinforcements on our ADR selections.

9/17 - we had hoped for 9/14 but there was not anything available. Originally we booked for 9/18 but DH decided he wanted to go to the MNSSHP that night so we were *luckily* able to swap...
We have not ever done it before and I am super stoked - My Dad had meeting Captain Hook at the top of his wish list so the cruise is a surprise for him!

I booked my first ever FP+ for today!!!

It went really well and I got three for AK, Expedition Everest, Kail River Rapids and Dinosaur... we're going to do the safari 1st thing.

:tink:

Just another milestone down :earsgirl:

I saw this too. I love how they use the word "colder" to describe 83/84! I think "not as hot" or "cooler" would have been a better description.

It seems like it is taking forever to get here! I am so looking forward to this trip! I'm still trying to decide if I should get the memory maker. It's just my husband and I and we are in our 60's so not sure if it would be odd for us to get this! :confused3::MickeyMo::MinnieMo

Im on the fence too. DH said go for it. Every time I sit at the computer to order, I tell myself to think about it some more. If it were printed pictures, it would be a no brainer..but digital? I have a nice camera to do that.
