September 2014 car rental watch

Looking for cheaper options out of Tampa. Anyone rented from EZ car rental?

Looking for discounts in the Sept./October time frame for Orlando vacation. I am hoping they come out and show a decent cut in price because they are expensive now!:coffee:

Just booked a standard car for 8 days, Sept 2nd thru the 9th for $177 including all fees and taxes. I used the entertainment coupon for up to 25% off and the free upgrade.

I've read over the thread and may have missed something. Is this a general use code? If so would you mind posting it?

I'm at $205 for 9-20 thru 9-27.

So, I did a combo of offers, and tried to duplicate to get the same price that I received last night. For some reason, Alamo is rejecting the codes. Could be a glitch in their website, who knows? And of course , I don't remember which ones I actually used, so I will give you a couple of the codes. One is for 25% off and has only a contract id of 7016119 mentioned. The other is for a free upgrade with contract I'd 7016108 and coupon code AU3292AAX. I do think I used the first code along with the free upgrade from the deal retriever and Alamo insiders. But honestly, I'm starting to confuse myself!!!

I'll try to duplicate and get back to you. FYI, I have used the entertainment coupons in the past to make the reservation, and have never had to present the coupon to an agent. But, if you want to be safe and get the coupons, I think the entertainment books for 2014 are on sale now for ten bucks.

We are getting in to the game late. Picked up some great RT airfares a few days ago for a 8/29 - 9/8 trip. So just starting to look at car rentals. Have a midsize booked through EZ Rent-A-Car for about $208. Though I would prefer to book through Costco for the additional driver. Seeing Costco rates in the $375 ballpark for a intermediate. I think I am still ahead of the big pre-trip price drops? At least I hope so...

DisneyDeb83, Thanks for posting the Entertainment codes. I had considered buying a book for $9.99 to try out the codes. Glad I didn't, prices are in the $450 neighborhood for a midsize, upgraded to full size

For any Costco members, log into your account and check your dates!!!
Huge price drop this morning!
I ran my dates of Sep 10-17 with a few extra hours tacked on (so higher cost than an actual 7 day rental) and got Alamo for...
intermediate price of $174 - stand $185 - full $194
Best pricing I have seen from Alamo so far!

I did't see any such price drop for our dates this morning :(

Thanks for the reminder to keep checking. We are at the end of September. So no drop yet but I do need to remember to keep checking

Bummer. As always, I am sure it all depends on your dates.
Have you tried the KLM code with National?
Up until this morning, that was one of the best deals I had found for us.

I did try the KLM code. Price was about $60 more than what we have through EZ. Though it does include insurance. Though we don't need that anyway since we are covered by our credit card which provides us with primary CDW.

No change for me either at Costco this morning. My intermediate SUV is still $362 for 9/20 to 9/26. I am holding onto my National using KLM code or $213 for now. Hoping to add a National coupon to it when one pops up for my dates.

Lol!!
I just played around with my times from my earlier post.
It is actually CHEAPER to keep the car an hour or two into the 8th day than it is to turn it in right at 7 days!!

Price dropped again last night for Alamo for Costco members.
Sep 10 @ 9:30 am- sep 17 @ 12:00 pm

Using Costco membership along with Cpn AU2291VYT for a one class upgrade,
I now have a full-sized car (booked a mid-sized and cpn upgrades to full) for $166.76.

Hopefully prices are starting to move a little for some of you that are going later in the month.

Idk if the prices changed for SUVs and minivans. Not really watching those anymore because of the price difference.

Are you booking through Costco site or Alamo site?
