Hope everyone leaving tomorrow and over the weekend has a fabulous time. We have 5 more days...not a moment too soon. I can barely contain this secret!!!

I have FINALLY finished my last day of work before we leave! I'm packed (and repacked), my car is vacuumed out, and tomorrow I will finish cleaning the house. At 5 am Saturday, we're out of here! I'm really hoping to run into those of you who are there when we are. I AM SO EXCITED!!!

I am WAY too excited, and I can't sleep!!!! I even took Tylenol PM! Oh well...I can sleep on the plane, right???

Oh, and for 9/27 MNSSHP people - DH is going to be a Saints football player, which may stand out more than our other costumes! Would love to meet some of you

Twelve hours from now we will be packing the car.

We will be there. Look for 12 pirates. there will be 5 girls and 3 moms in black cami's with pirate rhinestones!! We will say Hi. But beware we will be on a mission we will probably be at the last parade and one of the last 2 villians shows.

I hope everyone has a wonderful trip. I will be heading out today for detroit. But will probably get on while settling in tonight or tomorrow from the airport. Can't use to much data on my tablet cause I think the kids will be using it accessing their school work online.

Anyone staying at Pop...I would say look for my room but I am sure if you walk past you will notice it. Also I will have a small posterboard or tablet on my door.....sign if you see it!!

This is my last post fo 10 days!!!! Safe travels to those leaving today/this weekend and upcoming week! Our time has finally arrived!!

24 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will be at MNSSHP on the 27th as well. My DD is a greek goddess, but DH and I will probably not be dressed up, as much fun as it would be.

This is DH's first time to ANYTHING Disney. He is either going to love it or HATE IT. Wish me luck!!!

HOORAY... We leave in less than 24 hours We don't get to Disney until Sunday but that's ok. It will be so nice to just start this trip

Today I'm just going to finish up stuff around here. last loads of laundry, pack the last few things, tidy up and get the house ready for the dog sitter. the dogs know something is up and they are not happy about it lol. Beezer (my greyhound pointer mix who has had a rough life before he came to us) is just following me everywhere. He's my shadow dog today lol. He knows we are about to leave him and he's not convinced we are ever going to return for him. poor guy lol. Belle (our bluetick coonhound) is being her usual lazy self. fast asleep in the big arm chair lol. As long as we leave food and a comfy place to sleep she doesn't care if we are here or not haha. that is until we pack the van and then she'll start baying lol.

I'm taking DD to the doctor this morning. she started developing a cough last night. I'm pretty sure it's just post nasal drip because she's had a runny nose for a couple of days but I want to get her into the doctor and maybe get a scrip that we can take with us and get filled if it gets to be more than just a cold. but she's in a really good mood so she doesn't seem to be feeling badly.

I can't believe we are almost at Disney I will be here updating throughout our trip don't worry

I hope to run into some of you DD will have ear protectors on with minnie ears on them, hubby will be the only guy with a camo hat with mickey ears lol and I'll have mickey ears with a pumpkin on it. So keep an eye out for us. I'll also have a green mickey head that says "I DIS, DO YOU?" so if you see it... stop us and say hi I'm also going to hang it on the door at the resort just in case any dis'ers pass by.

Holy moly, there are a LOT of us leaving this weekend! Including me!! I can't believe we're finally here, and it's finally our turn. Thanks for those who have stayed on to see us through!I'm liable to be back on for a few minutes on the road in the morning, but I'm off for today to finish cleaning my house and getting ready. 19 hours and counting!

I am going for bf at Kona Cafe to get a real cup of coffee (the Kona press) and the Tonga Toast, then be at MK rd and wander a bit, maybe ride a ride (Space mountain or Thunder mountain), hopefully I will get to meet some of you.
Then jump the monorail to go to EPCOT and hopefully ride Soarin and wander WS and F&W and grab my lunch ADR, then take the boat over to DHS and maybe?? get to ride TSM, RNR, and Star Tours.

I am sure none of this is gonna work out but heck I can try right!!

DISfamily - can you all do me a favor? My son broke his arm this morning We just got home from getting the cast. Is there a link to advice for traveling with kids with broken bones or rides to avoid type of thing? Thank you so much for any help, I am super busy right now and can't look anything up.

Back home from the docs. It's just a cold thank goodness she listened to her lungs for a good long while to make sure they were nice and clear. She said to just use a little nasal spray and some motrin if she starts feeling a bit crummy or achy.

We painted our nails with little mickey heads lol

DDs are purple with white mickey heads and she just had to show anyone who would look while we were out haha.

I've almost got the laundry done. Kitchen is cleaned. Shower is clean although now I know why I usually make hubby clean the bathroom lol. I ended up with the worst hand cramp and a nice bruise on my knee I just need to vaccum and mop and then I'm done

We pack the van tonight when hubby gets home from work, ordering pizza for dinner (YUM) and then to bed early so we can be up and ready to leave by 3:30 am

This isn't about travelling with a child with a broken bone but just about how to deal with children with broken bones. there are some pretty good tips that you could use on the trip and during the drive. especially the tip about pillows to prop up the arm.

also another forum mentioned getting casts waterproofed if it isn't already

Oh no!!

When my son had a broken arm, we just made sure to keep it dry (so maybe no water rides or use a bag or waterproof it). And make sure he doesn't try to throw his hands up on the roller coasters or any rides that he could hurt himself on, like the teacups where he is spinning and could knock himself out if he hit is head. Sounds rather extreme, but it is something me or one of my boys would do.

Otherwise just make sure your son is pain free, otherwise he will be a crabby patty!

Oh no! I hope he is ok! I looked up your question on the mom's panel, and they basically said the same as others--that he should be fine to ride anything, but to be careful on water rides. http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.c...&page=1&where=search&qid=130965&pid=43&cid=57

I would just use your best judgement when you are there. I concur that the teacups might not be the best idea, as well as any other "bumpy" rides (the safari in AK comes to mind).
