September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

Yeah, good ol' TSM! Fastpasses gone and everything. You know, it's amazing that I can be sitting around my dining table 11 days out from a trip to Disney and say Hmm I wonder what the wait time for Peter Pan is and we can find out. There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...:rolleyes1
Although I think we will skip carousel of progress this time ;) I do think about how amazed Walt Disney would have been at all this and it makes me see the wonder in our growing world a different way. I have no smart phone though, is there a way you can get that info over the computer or no?

I would love to watch that--is it on cable right now or something? I don't have cable so that wouldn't help me :upsidedow but still! I love all the Imagineering guides, the Realityland book etc. It doesn't spoil the magic for me either!
The imagineers are amazing. I love watching that Animal Kingdom guy. He seems like such a cool trippy hippie living some sort of fantasy life :hippie:

Might be something online through the history channel Modern Marvels series.
Was pretty cool. 2 hours going through each park.

I was soooooo watching that this morning! popcorn::popcorn:: It was very interesting....I even dvr'd it so I can watch the rest that I missed since I had to actually get off my duff and do some work. :sad2:

The Lines app and the information can be found on Touringplans.com. I subscribe to that site though--it's by the people who publish the Unofficial Guides. I'm not sure how often the line times are updated online but maybe it's the same as the app. They're the ones who do the crowd predictions and "parks to avoid" etc.

That imagineer is Joe Rohde and yes he seems like a cool character! I wonder what his ears look like now since it's been a couple of years since any of those videos have been updated! :lmao: Although seriously Joe...fix the Yeti!

Right now, I am watching the History Channel Modern Marvels - Disney World
They are just feeding the virus and I am getting 'home'sick.

We watched that too...loved seeing things behind the scenes. When I was about 10 or so they still had the "Day Camp" and I went for a day...got to go behind the scenes at all three parks (Animal Kingdom was probably just in the beginning processes if even thought about then) we learned so much!

Does anyone know the regualtions for travelling with a toddler who you didn't purchase a ticket for....do you need ID (Birth Certificate) for them to get through security at the airport? I ordered BabyK's birth certificate over a month ago and it still isn't here, I called today and supposedly it will be here tomorrow (Crossing my fingers then I just won't have to worry about it). But do I really need it? Am I stressing myself out over nothing? Cod-Man has a passport for security from our cruise in 2008, so I am just worried about the baby....I think I am probably freaking out too because I am not a good flyer and this is the baby's first flight ...I hope he does ok!

They do not need ID for security, but Most airlines require a Birth Cert to prove they are under 2 years old to fly as a lap child. Southwest told me to bring a COPY of my DD's to get our boarding verification document for her. I would call the airline, if you don't recieve her BC you might be able to use a official Shot document from the babies Dr office!:thumbsup2

They finally approved it this afternoon!!!!!! Yipppppppeeeee!!!!!

Nothing like waiting to the last minute. Glad they finally came through for you. Sorry you've been short handed at work...sounds like you really will need your vacation!

I'm over and out. Been packing all day after never going to bed last night due to upset stomach. Sorry I'll miss your drawing tomorrow since I'll be leaving for the airport at 8:15am. Feel better and have fun!

Finally watched the trip report video on YouTube....it was soooo awesome and of course got me all teary :sad1: eyed!!! Can't wait till Monday!

For our first trip when my oldest was in first that was her homework too. We turned it into a scrapbook of our vacation. I loved it.
Yay for pixie dust!:wizard:
So neat!!!!!

That's fantastic - we were lucky as well - DD's teacher was very understanding as well - promised not to spoil the surprise... Have to remember to get him something from Disney as well

That's awesome!!! I am going to have my daughter pick something up for her teacher as well! :teacher:

Packing more tonight like swimsuits and stuff. It's been in the 60s here so I don't think we'll be needing them anymore until WDW!
Yeah we have had sweatshirts and long pants on these past few days...it is usually a lot warmer still this time of year! I miss the warmth!!!! LOL

They finally approved it this afternoon!!!!!! Yipppppppeeeee!!!!!

Wahooooooo!!!!

Just did our pre order for Disney photo pass:woohoo:
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Sooo..... Did my online check in today for the second half of our split stay. Tonight I get a call from our credit card company. Shortly after the $0 amount charged for online check in, a BUNCH of fraudulent charges came in!!! None of them went through luckily because the weird activity shut the card down. But now the card that I used for both our room reservations is dead. How is that going to work at check in?? Not enough time to get a new card before our trip. And does this mean that our cc number was compromised on the disneyworld website??? *Sigh* Such a downer right before our trip.

Checked in online; quasi packed...o.k., I'm quasi packed in my mind;)
We leave Monday morning!!!

Hey There, I'm returning to WDW for the first time in over 10 years in less than a week! So excited, but at the same time worried. Living in the NW for the past 15 years I have gotten used to somewhat mild weather during the summer time. Is anyone familiar with WDW weather during hurricane season? Should I worry about Hurricane Maria?

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Today is the day!!

Running behind, but as dbf said, it has been there for 40 years, it's not going anywhere......!:rolleyes1

Woot, janabananas!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Y'all drive safe!!

Everybody leaving today, have a magical time!! The rest of us will hold the fort down until you get back!:thumbsup2
