I'm feeling a little homesick for Disney today :sad2: I just love the magic....it's a dreary day here in Ontario....and I'm a bit moody:sad1: lol:rolleyes1

Oh, I hear ya. If only the sun were out today... Hopefully tomorrow will be better for us!

L-Harper can you please fix us? I officially called WDW this morning to commit to our split stay. We're at Poly CL 9/20-24 and GF CL 9/24-9/29.

My 4 year old got her cast off today! :cool1:

She's doing ok, arm is stiff (as to be expected). She's straightening out her elbow pretty well, is having a harder time with bending. So, I'll be working with her daily to restore her range of motion. Hoping she gets full range back soon :wizard:

After the cast removal we had a fun day at the Field museum! :)

Sounds like a great day after getting the cast off. I took the girls to see hop this weekend and they loved it. I know not disney but a good family day.

The girl in the bottom left-hand corner, with the kind of tie-dye style pink shirt - that's my daughter. LOL

If this is the down season in September, I would be terrified to go when its busy! :scared1:

:cool1: YAY! I got you all set on the first post! :goodvibes

It was a good day until I had to try and stretch her arm before bed :sad1:
I know it will get better, it just takes time.

Hop looks like such a cute movie! So you and your girls really liked it?! After watching it, do you know why the PG rating?

To anyone that has gone in September before:

Do you have any pictures of what the crowds look like in the parks?

We spent our honeymoon at Disney Sept 2000; and that began our love of Disney in late September/early October. I remember that 1st year we went at DHS aka MGM at that time we practically walked on every single ride. :cool1: It was awesome! We rode all the rides we wanted and were basically waiting for shows in the afternoon.

DISCLAIMER: We are NOT rope drop people so all photos were take mid afternoon or early evening. As a matter of fact I said something to my husband about rope drop/ opening ceremony after a Disney commercial showed a clip of one; he was like they really do that....everyday...huh?:rotfl2:
I have pics from 2005:

And 2007:

I went twice in 2009; but don't have any "crowd" shots. Some of the pics make it look crowded but really it is not bad. By lunchtime many of the fastpasses are "soldout" but even then walkon can be extremely short in the afternoon. We really enjoy goin during this time of the year.:)

ADR's for 8 DONE!!!

9/12/11 Crystal Palace at 8:05 (Magic Kingdom opens at 9am)
9/13/11 Rose and Crown at 12 noon
9/14/11 Boma at 5:40pm (Animal Kingdom closes at 5pm)
9/15/11 Ohana at 5:05 at the Polynesian
9/16/11 Boma at 8:30 am on departure day

All within 30 minutes of my asked for time! Now all I need is for the halloween party to be confirmed and tickets bought!:cheer2:

 Congrats on ADR's

At least the fleet is getting a thorough review now, so that issues are resolved before you fly!

I hope so! We have always flown Airtran but this is the first year we're flying Southwest because we got an unbelievable deal on airfare. Hope all these safety issues are resolved before then!

It's possible, but we probably won't stay til 12 am! Even with Paul sleeping in the stroller, DD is only 8 and not really a night owl! I kind of thought maybe we'd let them run around til 9 or 10 and then take them back to the resort, and maybe DH and I would run back out together just the two of us while the kids crashed out with grandma and grandpa.

The kids tend to be early risers (read 6:30 on the weekends...4:30 for DS this past weekend!) I am not saying the plan won't change, but at least it's a start!:rotfl:

How nice if you can go back to the party with your DH! My kids are also early risers, always up by 6am (many times earlier) but they always sleep in (to about 8 am, LOL) after MNSSHP. Sounds like your family will be ready for those early hours at AK though :thumbsup2

That's why my husband insisted we switch our May/June trip to September.

According to Touring Plans (when I pull up the history for these dates), it says:

DHS was a 7.7 out of 10 (fantasmic night and we missed it)
Epcot was a 0.1 out of 10
Magic Kingdom was a 0.6 out of 10 (MNSSHP night)

I've never experienced RD in all my years either! This Sept will be the first time I'm up early for ADR's, and if it wasn't for ADR's and wanting to get into the parks early to take some photos, I'd still be sound asleep at RD time!! :rotfl:

Yay for getting her cast off!! :cool1:

I thought Sept was busy compared to first week in Feb so I would never, ever be able to handle the busy season :scared1:

And we are RD people here. DS has gotten up before 6 almost every single day of his life. The latest he has ever slept was around 7. My oldest DD and youngest DD are all up by 7:00 at the very latest and my 4 yo is our very late sleeper, she will sleep until 8 sometimes!! So since we are all up anyway we like to go to the parks as soon as we can :thumbsup2

Amy whenever you want to post anymore pics of your adorable daughter and her too cute for word outfits PLEASE do. They are totally inspiring me to think up some cute stuff for my little princess for this trip. It is our 1st trip with her and I can't wait. A picture a day would be just fine with me.:rotfl: Or if anyone else would share their cutie patooties. I am looking for girlie ideas but I can't resist a cute little prince charming pic.:wizard:

Thanks! I've got ZILLIONS of photos of her in her customs! I was slowly working on putting some albums together in photobucket with a link on my siggie for others to view. I'll post a few more on here in the meantime. Whatcha wanna see? :upsidedow

Branan5 - those are Sept photos from 2005? Wow, they look more crowded then mine!

My kids (especially my son!) are always up early as well. So getting up early for RD was not an issue for us either. Luckily my husband didn't mind getting up at pretty much the same time he does for work. I think those months of my reading postings out loud to him from DIS helped. :rotfl:

This trip, with us going solo, I wonder if he'll still be good with getting to the parks early or want to sleep in more. I'm hoping w/o the kids we'll be able to grab an extra 1/2 hour of sleep and still head out in time.

I think it was beacuse some of the adult humor that went way over my kids head. The Eb character also stops in front of the Playboy mansion but you just see the bunny on the gate. No big deal IMO. But if you have seen Disney's Enchanted there is some refrence to that movie in there. Riley says look mom it's prince Edward. LOL

Just like you we got a amazing deal on SW alos. WE usally fly airtran. This is the first time we have flown SW since 2004.

I'm trying to budget for T-rex. We are letting the girls do Build a dino so that I figure around 70.00. Do you think 100.00 for 4 of us for food should bo good? We don't do desert but probably will get the nacho's for a appertizer and our meal and maybe each a adult bevearage. My kids will want the light up glass again I'm sure. We did rainforest last year and they pefer t-rex.

We are on the QSDp so we have a couple of TS meals planned. Tusker house and Norway princess breakfest. We are on the QSDp so we figure the extra credits we will use for the girls for breakfest. Dh and I don't do breakfest.

How long did your daughter wear a cast? Mine had one a couple of years ago. Two weeks before school ended, she fractured it arm (just above the wrist) during recess. Ugh... that was a boring summer for her. No soccer, bikes, scooters, skateboards, swimming, etc.

I'm hoping we can take the kids to see "Hop" this weekend. We missed "Mars Needs Moms"... they pulled that out of the theatres real fast.

Being at Disney is the only time I'm bummed that my girls are late sleepers. :lmao:

Thanks for the info! That doesn't sound bad at all. I know DH wasn't sure about taking the kids when he saw the rating. If we get a chance I'd like to take them to see it!

Besides the safety issus with SW I'm a little concerned about their boarding/seating. We always paid for seats ahead of time on Airtran so the open seating will certainly be a new experience for us with SW. We paid for EBCI for the return flight only so I don't have to worry about check-in right at the 24 hr mark. We'll take our chance on the way down :wizard:

My daughter had her cast on for 4 weeks but she had what is called a Monteggia fracture of her elbow: she broke her ulna and dislocated her radius. They had to put her under consciuos sedation in the ER to reduce it and her cast was above the elbow.

So the doc said to expect some stiffness but right now she's having a hard time with bending her elbow...she doesn't have enough range to bring her hand to her mouth, etc :sad2:

I am grateful though that the cast came off before we get into the summer months! I feel so bad for any kids that have or have had broken bones.

We get in free sometimes my brothers long time gF works at the local theater. It isn't a typical theater it has recliner type seats that are around a long table. They serve food and drinks. So usually even though we get in free I still end up spending 20-30 dollars.

We are going at the end of the month to see Rio. I hope it stays in the theater longer than 2 weeks. Soemtimes that happens at ours also.
