September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

Thanks for the info! That doesn't sound bad at all. I know DH wasn't sure about taking the kids when he saw the rating. If we get a chance I'd like to take them to see it!

Besides the safety issus with SW I'm a little concerned about their boarding/seating. We always paid for seats ahead of time on Airtran so the open seating will certainly be a new experience for us with SW. We paid for EBCI for the return flight only so I don't have to worry about check-in right at the 24 hr mark. We'll take our chance on the way down :wizard:

I'm another that always paid for assigned seating. So I was asking questions on the transportation board. They did suggest the EBCI for the way home. So I am going to add that. I really don' t think anyone wants to sit with my 3 year old. If they did she would be having them move really quick. LOL

My daughter had her cast on for 4 weeks but she had what is called a Monteggia fracture of her elbow: she broke her ulna and dislocated her radius. They had to put her under consciuos sedation in the ER to reduce it and her cast was above the elbow.

So the doc said to expect some stiffness but right now she's having a hard time with bending her elbow...she doesn't have enough range to bring her hand to her mouth, etc :sad2:

I wondered if the cast was above her elbow when you mentioned trying to bend it. Poor kid! :flower3: Hopefully she'll have full movement of her arm again before summer!

I'm still angsting over airfare. The Disney website fares range widely in price and the timing is not exactly what I want...and yes, I know I'm being picky! :)

Now that the ADRs are in place and the major planning is done, I want to have my airline tickets in hand! Everything else is pretty much finished!

The outfits on your DD are adorable! I wish I could get mine to dress like that! I would post a link to a photo but I am not sure how... Does anyone have instructions for that?

Also, the crowd pictures look very light to me! I was there for spring break last year and the crowds were elbow to elbow. You could hardly turn around without someone running over you...so that looks fairly light to me! We decided to go in September because of the lower crowd levels since DH is a little claustrophobic with large groups of people and gets cranky when he's too crowded!

Here is one of my favorite pics of my girls from 2008. They got selected to open Chef Mickey's...such an awesome magical moment! :wizard:

DD(5 in this pic) had mouse ear clippies in her hair, but they are a little flattened in this pic :)

Oh how cute!!! I love the pictures!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks! I've got ZILLIONS of photos of her in her customs! I was slowly working on putting some albums together in photobucket with a link on my siggie for others to view. I'll post a few more on here in the meantime. Whatcha wanna see? :upsidedow

Gosh IDK! I have a feeling every single one will be totally stinkin cute. I was thinking we would dress as a family. :confused3 Not all matching but themey.... Like a red, white, and blue day, tye-dye mickey day, black and red day, animal day, pirate day. Even before we had DD I always made sure DH and I coordinated so this is really not a stretch. DH just rolls his eyes and check with me before he gets dressed. :lmao:

i LOVE the skirts! They are so fun! DD will be turning 18 months while we are in Florida.

Hope your DD's arm heals quickly :)

Being at Disney is the only time I'm bummed that my girls are late sleepers. :lmao:

I thought that once we had kids we might be able to become RD people; but DD is not an early riser either. :sad2: I would love to experience the parks early and have character breakfasts & pics before the park opens... maybe next time? For now we will just close the parks down. :rotfl:

i have my ticker up but the months countdown part is wrong im going in sept. and it says i have 8 months to my trip meanwhile its more like 5. how do i fix that?

I'm trying to budget for T-rex. We are letting the girls do Build a dino so that I figure around 70.00. Do you think 100.00 for 4 of us for food should bo good? We don't do desert but probably will get the nacho's for a appertizer and our meal and maybe each a adult bevearage. My kids will want the light up glass again I'm sure. We did rainforest last year and they pefer t-rex.

We are on the QSDp so we have a couple of TS meals planned. Tusker house and Norway princess breakfest. We are on the QSDp so we figure the extra credits we will use for the girls for breakfest. Dh and I don't do breakfest.

Depends on if your girls will be eating off the kids menu and drinks and appetizers. We went March 2010 and it was myself, dh and dd13 and we spent about $95 :scared1: without tip just for the three of us but we all ate off of the adult menu had an appetizer and I had an alcoholic drink and daughter had a fancy lil drink thing too. There is a menu up on the DIS site that might help you better on budgeting.

Hi all -

Nothing to share - just wanted to see my ticker :banana::banana:

Thanks!

OK so my friend who's a flight attendent gave me this advice. If people won't generously move so I can be next to my kids, then I am to say "ok Honey...remember this is where the bag is at for when you puke, no screaming during take off, and I won't be here to remind you to go potty so try not to pee your pants and smell up the plane(I added that one)":rotfl: I never had to use it but my friend has and people move right away...I mean the only person that wants to be next to the child is their mother:rotfl2: Just some suggestions:thumbsup2

I love that! :thumbsup2

Honestly, I don't understand why airlines feel it's ok for little kids to be seperated from their parents. Sure, the odd kid here and there are going to be fine.. older kids yes... but young ones? I would think the majority would not be ok!

My kids are eating off the kids menu. I checked it out and figured 10.00 each for the kids meals. Another 15.00 for appertizer. Drinks 20.00. Plus DH and my meal. Dh always gets a burger the majority of the time. I think we we will be right around the 100.00 mark before tip.
Thanks
