September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

So DH and I decided to cheat on Mickey with Harry during our trip, however now he is thinking he wants to do both WWoHP and MNSSHP. :rotfl: So.....

Do people go who do NOT dress up? I know I want to, but DH is not feeling up to it. And I am aware that adults can trick or treat but is this offered every night? May be something to consider.

I love reading through this thread and realizing how small the world is. So many of you will be at the world the same time as my DH and I. Some even the same hotel!

I realize it's a BIG place and all, I just find it interesting. :thumbsup2

I agree! I'm so very, very excited by how many of us are going to be in the World at the same time, and there seem to be a lot of DISers at Pop that week. It's a bit like knowing people in the parks!

We absolutely loved it! It was DH, me, DD7, and DD1.

You gather at a conference room at the Contemporary and they split you up into boats. We had two different boats. Each boat has it's own pirate leader who sing, tell jokes, do trivia, and pretty much entertain the crap out of everyone.

Before you get on the boats, though, you get snacks and drinks and get to meet Captain Hook and Mr Smee. Then, before you leave for the boats, they tell you to go ahead and load up on snacks and drinks. We had so many snacks left over afterwards that we even brought some home with us.

You cruise out on Bay Lake and watch a bit of the water parade, then you circle around Seven Seas Lagoon and get into place for Wishes. After Wishes, you head back to the dock for a suprise guest.

We had such a good time with it! One of these days we are going to do it again for sure!

Thank you so much for posting a review!!! It looks like a lot of fun. We're still not sure if we're going to do any "extras" this trip since its our first time and we have ten days.

We too are cheating and doing a day for Potter, and still doing a MNSSHP night too but hey it's a girls birthday so a girl should get what she wants and there are two girls to consider here. :rotfl:

My kiddo is dressing up and I am just doing a Halloweenie shirt but I know there are lots of adults that do dress up. The trick or treat part is only offered on MNSSHP nights, plus the special fireworks and parade are only offered on those nights too, unlike what I hear about the Christmas Party where you can see the same things on regular nights....not so with Halloween.

I am dreaming of butterbeer :goodvibes

I better get started on my goal of rereading all the books before we go!

We are going to spend a day at US as well... we have never been and really want to check it out. As long as I can somehow come up with the extra funds for it... gas is killing me and US tickets are very expensive.

On a side note, I checked yesterday on gas prices for our trip. There is a wonderful site that gives up to date gas prices across the country. Locally, our gas is around $4.09, while I saw that the Hess gas station there at Disney is only $3.63!!!! Plus the area in Georgia that we plan to stop for the night is currently the lowest I have seen at $3.33. Wonder why Illinois, Indiana and Michigan are sooo high... in some areas they are even higher than California!!!

I keep checking gas buddy to use the trip calculator and see how it is finally going down :goodvibes

I was able to get a good deal on my uni tickets at costco.

Drinking some coffee, eating a donut and watching a disney behind the scene show now with the family :lovestruc

Hi everyone....trying to keep up with everyone's latest but no comments to be made as I have been working alot and no time to quote everything...LOL worked 40 hrs in 2 1/2 days last weekend , with 4 hrs of sleep. Serving is ok if you make mega money but I had a combo of good and bad. Made about $300 so I bought the girls a trampoline. They of course were excited!!! Sewing has stopped for now but I am hoping in a few weeks to start again. I have a few more shirts to make.

We are getting closer!! Whoot Whoot!! So excited to surprise the 6 kids with our planned scheme...=) I am hoping it will go down as planned and I will have video to post when wwe return. We all need to keep this thread going...at least a few months so we can share our vacations with each other!!

I totally agree!! I'm later in the month so those updates will help get my super psyched.
I can't wait to hear how all the kids react!!

I just want to see my ticker. :lmao:

Today we spent ALL day at the beach on Lake Michigan. We are totally exhausted and even with three coats of SPF50 I still have some color. I definitely need to get our skin ready for Florida's sunshine. :cool1:

Walked 3.4 miles today ... ran only maybe 1/4 of it, but hey.. it's a start. Working on getting my body fit for the Disney parks, and fit for myself. :cool1:

I'm not upset with my weight by any means because I've been blessed with an awesome metabolism (for now). But let's face it - I'm lazy. So today's adventure is hopefully the start of an exercise regime. Hopefully by the end of the week i will be able to jog that 3.4 miles without stopping for a walk!

Got a promotion at work and so have been really busy lately but had time to stop by this a.m. I want to see where my ticker is!

Happy Monday everyone! I also wanted to see my ticker.:cool1:

Had a busy weekend got the girls new bikes finally. My oldest was just about kissing her kness on her old princess bike. She was way over due for a new one. She picked out a new bigger princess bike. My youngest didn't want a bike she wanted a Lighting Mcqueen little tikes car. Both were 20.00 off so I walked out of there spending 115.00.

Good for you! :thumbsup2

Our office started a "biggest loser" for the next two months. I've been trying to lose 10 pounds since the beginning of the year with not much luck. So, I figure this is an extra $90 I could put toward Disney if I win!

I've been walking and using my elliptical and counting calories. Down only one pound so far (not quite one week in) but I'm optomistic! A co-worker brought in muffins this morning, the evil saboteur, but I have held strong!!! LOL.

Keep up the effort, it will be great for tearing around Epcot!

At least I wasn't the only one working all weekend. We had a major special event all weekend at work - got about 15 hours of sleep Thursday to Sunday night (because of course I had a 5-7 page paper due Saturday too!), and then worked all day today in 95 degree heat. Gotta love it. One more event this Saturday and then two weekends in July....whew this summer is gonna fly!

I was on my feet all weekend working in hot humid weather. I wore sandals the whole time, because even though I was working I told my boyfriend I saw it as practice for Disney! I am really bad about working out regularly too due to pure laziness and exhaustion from work. But we just bought bikes and have been doing some casual riding. Also just started weighing ourselves every other day. Gotta make some progress before Disney! Good luck!

Congratulations! I'm just checking in too!

Looks like everyone is gonna be pretty busy this summer! Its gonna fly by!
