Hey there everyone!!! I'm back after my mothers visit :) Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday!!

its 90 here today..... I like to look at it as preparing for Disney in September LOL!!!

Have a Magical Day!!!! ºOº ºOº ºOº ºOº ºOº ºOº

Ok, here are Mikella's dance solos from last Sunday's recital. Centerfield is her brand new one. In fact, it's not really even finished yet, but recital snuck up on us too quickly so we had to just end it "as is". She's still refining it for all the summer shows. She forgets a lot of parts, but I'll post a better video in a couple months when she has it down pat! She also seems to have a hard time dancing in those clunky sequin shoes! LOL!

Here is her tap solo.....she's been doing this one for awhile, so I'm not sure why she forgot bits and pieces of this one. LOL! Oh well.

If I can figure out how to share a public link from my FB page to my videos on there, I can show you a few more of her solos. Her VERY first solo, last April, at age 4 was my FAV!

I had a chance to view the videos, Mikella is adorable! Both routines were cute and put a smile on my face, I really like the Centerfield one (the costume, the song, the routine) :thumbsup2 I think she did great...being so young and doing solos!!

My daughters are in a very small local dance studio but they do not compete or have solo performances. My 4 year old is a big ham on stage though, lol

Thanks for sharing Amy! :goodvibes

Got an e-mail from Disney Destinations today. My customized maps have shipped and should be here in a couple of days :cool1:

Can't wait so see how they turned out!

Basketkat~your dress is awesome!!! Wish I were as talented, but I am not so that is why I rely on Michelle (fortheloveofdcl) to do my sewing projects. She is really good at it:thumbsup2
I was reading through the Dis today and just found out about the Pirate League. I really didnt know what it was and now I am sad that I hadn't heard about it sooner:guilty:. My girls are going to be pirates for the MNSSHP and what a great idea it would have been for them to do this. I called and ofcourse the day we will be in MK for the party, it is all booked up. The cast member told me I could call back as someone may cancel. Oh well, I guess Michelle will just have to do their makeup also...she is really good at doing that too!!!!;)

I made shirts that my DD and my BFF's DD's (disneydiva16) wore on our first Disney Cruise..we had a tone of compliments on the outfits. This time Michelle (fortheloveofdcl) is making them for all our DD's:woohoo:we wanted to to match and she is just learning and thought all the practice would be great for her:laughing:

Flatery Will get you nowhere and neither will reverse Phsycho babble:rolleyes1

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I spent mine at work, where it was boldly proclaimed at around lunchtime that my weekend trip to the beach had taken a detour. Due to "unforeseen circumstances", my presence will be required at work this weekend to cover for another person, and my excitement over the ocean (along with the potential to meet up with a couple of you! :sad2:) has disappeared. Now I don't know how long it'll be before we can take a small break as a family BEFORE September. If I weren't so old, I would pout. I still may. :sad1:

Happy Easter! I'm not sure I can put into words why Disney is such a special place for me, but I wanted to comment on your great question. You always know what to post to get us thinking and talking! :)
.

Aw! Thanks! I credit my journalism background for string of questions to keep people talking! I just don't want the enthusiasm to die down (if there was ever a chance of that happening!!)

(sorry this is so long!)
So my first experiences with DisneyWorld came as a child because my grandparents use to live in Ocala, FL. I have some fantastic early memories of meeting Minnie Mouse (who I've always loved), dancing with Alice during a parade, seeing the Tiki Room, Country Bears, etc. Then as I got older in Jr High and High School we drove over to visit my grandparents again from Texas. I got to help introduce my younger brother to the Magic,,,as well as experience some of the bigger attractions with my sisters and family. And I would literally dream about the next time I would get to go back, never really knowing when that would be. The colors and characters were so fantastic and the memories were just unmatched. We never went for more than one day, and I had never been to DHS or Animal Kingdom. My first real serious boyfriend in college and i started to plan a trip thinking we may go for our honeymoon, and I was so excited. And of course we broke up. I think I was more upset about the trip not happening than I was about our relationship ending! So I said I don't need him to make this happen I'm going anyway, even if I have to go by myself! Well I met a wonderful guy, who was game to come along....we went and it was such a magical trip! Its our special place now and he has really started to get into the whole vacation thing! I can't imagine my life without him or WDW!

Thanks! Her dances aren't very "technical" at age 4 and 5, but they are cute and give her the chance to get used to being on stage and memorizing routines. I'll share Centerfield again when she performs it this summer and knows her routine better. She also seemed to be losing her skirt in that one. :rotfl: It might've distracted her a bit.

Has anyone recieved their pins yet?????? It is going to rain here for the next week........EEK!:scared1: I need some Disney sun :cool2:

That's too bad. I was looking forward to meeting you :sad2: September isn't that far off and will be here before we know it :woohoo: On a happy note (not trying to rub it in) we leave for the beach in 2 days :yay: and after such a long winter here in central NY, I am ready for some sunshine  and relaxing by the ocean.. we like to try to go to Myrtle every year..so maybe we can meet there next year after we meet at Disney :cheer2:

Very Cute. Makes me think how young DD was (4) when she started competition. Got her schedule. It stinks:eek: It's nice in the sense that no dancing for her Friday so we are going downtown Chicago. But Sat she doesn't perform till 9:30PM and 10:30PM OMG:scared1: Syd is in bed by 8:30/9PM normally. I will have to give her sugar cause my kids don't drink Pop so I will have to use sugar for the rush..:rotfl: Honestly the time is ridiculous!!! .
LOL! I've been MIA most of the week....and I just sat down to do a little DIS catchup and this is the first thing I see. :rotfl: You two are funny!

We try to entertain;) Even more entertaining when all 3 of us(myself, Robin and Norma(2pirates1princess) are all chatting. Facetime has been nice since they are in NY and I am in Ohio. Who would have thought we just met almost 3 yrs ago and only have hung out a week. Maybe that's why we like each other:lmao: I am hoping that this our 2nd vacation together is just the beginning of many:lovestruc

Oh Basketkat! I love your polka dot dress! That is sooo cute!

Happy Easter to all, hope everyone had a wonderful day with their families. Just sitting down to watch a movie with mine, and it makes me wonder when exactly did you know Disney was that special place for you? Or if its your first trip you're planning, what exactly is it about Disney that has you so enamored with it?
(when I have more time I'll post mine!)

Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust! :goodvibes

Good question....I would say that I have liked Disney all my life. We went many times when I was a child, staying at Fort Wilderness(we camped a lot in our camper, no tent:scared1:) when it was cheap to stay there..:rotfl: However, My love probably started when I took my cousins DD to MK for the first time. She was 2 and I was 19. My mom dropped us at MK and the 2 of us went in for the day. Cassidy(2) was just in awe. She got so excited meeting mickey in his tent and he put a sticker on her shirt and interacted with her. She talked about that FOREVER, told everyone. I remember that being my highlight as well. That was the first time I saw the "MAGIC" through someone else. I knew from that moment I would take my kids. Now every yr going, whether it's our Disney cruises or walking into MK, I feel the MAgic. Watching my kids get so excited. I don't care what people say about those Disney commercials --- I DO feel the Magic....I can't explain though I am sure most of you understand. Same on the cruise -u board and they say "Welcome Aboard the Nolan Family"....I'm like yes I am home let the party begin!!!! and then at WDW, I go to my resort they say "Welcome Home" Ok I know that's corney but I get so excited when they say that.

And now this yr , I get to go and see the magic through 6 kids eyes and 6 "Big" kids eyes...well 5 plus my eyes. Ok had a tearful moment there!

Everyone in the US had their pins shipped out. She was going to go to the post office to ship the ones out to Canada but went into labor 2 weeks early. The people in Canada will get theirs when my friend can get to the post office. No worries, they'll be there before September. hehe :goodvibes

I know what you mean, when we took my boyfriend's nephew two years ago it was a life changing trip for me and my boyfriend...and certainly a magical trip of a lifetime for his nephew!!
I love the stories everyone! Keep them coming!! They brighten my day as there is nothing but rain in the forecast all week!
