September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I would ABSOLUTELY start another thread if its needed. I will for sure be around until EVERYONE from this thread is back from their trips and I've heard stories. I have been with this thread for this long, I will not leave any of you now! :grouphug: I know that I'll be doing a trip report when we get back and I would love to be able to share it with all of you. The DIS will allow us to have another thread, so that is not a worry.

I'm kind of hoping that just because our trips are over in September that everyone just doesn't disappear. I'm kind of hoping we can keep some sort of group going, just as friends wanting to keep chatting about life and WDW. I would definitely offer up my time to hosting a thread like that too.

Us too - we don't leave til 24th so lots of stories of everyone else's trips will just get us all in the mode to go when its our turn... this board has to be one of the best I've seen - no silly bashing or cranking... we're just all about the mouse and fun! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1:

Glad others want to keep up the thread too! I know I do! I cant wait to hear about your trips as well as everyones final planning! Its so close now!!

I'm so excited!!! I just bought my pearl cage for the pick-a-pearl! I went for the carriage since it will just remind me of WDW and Cinderella. This is the one I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/18K-WGP-PEARL-CAGE-25X25MM-CARRIAGE-/290561839817?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a6d5d2c9

I also cored these Keen sandals NEW on Ebay for $45 last night!!! http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/ss11/shoes/women/waterfront/owyhee/slate%20black!living%20coral

Great finds! I just ordered the Chaco Zong X on amazon (for $50,,,way cheaper than the site offers!) http://www.chacos.com/US/en-US/Product.mvc.aspx/19785W/0/Womens/Zong-X-EcoTread?dimensions=0
And am excited to get them broke in during the next 29 days!
Also here are my park plans and dining ressies :
9/17-MK and the hop to Epcot - La Hacienda 6:45 pm
9/18 MK- Wilderness Canyon Cafe 5:25
9/19 DHS- Kouzinna 6:25
9/20 Water Parks-Cape May Cafe 5 pm-MNSSHP
9/21 AK - Les Chefs 7 p.m.
9/22 Waterparks -Ohana 5:20
9/23 Epcot- Coral Reef 7:05

Left lots of room for hopping if we want, pool time, resting and DTD! Of course once we get there all we're going to want to do is be in the parks! :rotfl:

The September trip will be our first trip to Disney without the kids. My DW (Not a Disney Lover) thinks we will not have much fun. Silly Girl.

DH and I have already talked about doing this some time. It sounds wonderful. I am sure you will have a great anniversary pixiedust:

:

Is white an attractant? I would rather not get the love bug's attention, unless it has bitten the DH and he gets jonesing for a smooch! :lovestruc I love the pics, everybody! I will post one tonight when I get home, I can't access photobucket from my work PC or the links from my iPhone. ;) Does anyone know how to best protect yourself if you're taking BP medication in the parks? I was just diagnosed with hypertension (shocking, since my BP has always been super low), and they put me on a BP medicine. It tells me to stay out of the sun. :scared1: Trying to figure out how that's going to work!:lmao: I could ask on the DISability boards, but I thought I'd see if anyone here knows first hand. :surfweb:

I have lived in Florida my entire life (the love bug capital of the world) and I have never heard of white being an issue.

I have CHF and take about 5 different heart meds, several of which say the same about not going in the sun. This post is the response I got from Sue one of the mods from the DISabilities forum. She is very very knowledgeable.
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=41612287&postcount=13
"There is a stamp for GACs that is worded something like "a shaded place to wait when the queue is in the sun for an extended period of time." in actual use, posters have not found it to be very helpful because most queues are pretty well shaded or roofed ( even in Animal Kingdom) and most of the time spent in the sun is actually spent walking from place to place, where a GAC would not help."

I hope this helps. I plan on wearing a hat, SPF bazillion, and staying hydrated.

I am going earlier in Sept, this is my plan:

9/8 DHS day, then BOMA 740pm/Wishes at Poly
9/9 EPCOT ALL DAY LONG!!, adr for Tokyo Dining at 820pm
9/10 AK til close, then POFQ for beignet pick up & boat to DTD, Raglan Road at 945pm, I might try for an earlier time though
9/11 MK day, must leave by 4pm to get DBF to work by 7pm

Luckily DBF and I have SAP, so we can go for little weekend trips. We are going without kids this trip in Sept, for F&W in Nov, & our anniversary at the end of January. I am looking forward to alone adult time to enjoy the little things that you can't do with the kids.

We go sans kids all the time and love it. You can plan as little or as much as you want and do things you wouldn't do with kids. We have gone on several tours and have more scheduled for our upcoming trips. Besides those and our ADRs we really have nothing planed. We just go where the mood strikes us.

DH has heart failure and takes several cardiac drugs as well. We always wear hats and use plenty of sunscreen and take breaks in a shady place and we have done just fine. We got a GAC because he can't go up stairs very well and used it on SM and TSM and it worked great.

I'm thinking if you accidentally sat on some it would leave a mark? I don't know...that's the only thing I can think of. :rotfl:

Oh duh!! I didn't even think of that!!

That is why I don't wear white, period. :rotfl:
I have been looking for clothes for my trip and I keep seeing really cute white pieces, then I see in my future what it will look like with a big wine stain or, now, bug stain on my butt. No thanks!! :lmao:

My brother's GF wore white and sat in some chocolate. Of course we were in Epcot and the boys were on Mission space. So here I am wiping her butt for her. The cm that walked by made a joke. I told him he really didn't want to know. It was actually really funny.

I really hope I get the chance to meet some of you. This has been such a great thread. I look forward to checking it 2 or 3 times a day. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. All of you are wonderful people.

I'm planning to try to always have a lime green stickey on me and have my name on it. I know that's going to be a challenge in the heat. My first name is Donna. So if you see me and what say a hello please do. I wish we could come up with a way to be able to identify each other from this thread. Any thoughts?

I hope after we all get back we'll share our adventures.

well got the shirts in the mail today and wouldn't you know dh's shirt with donald with no pants has a hole in it. go to the disney store and they returned it no problem but only shirts they have are disneyland shirts. I found a blue donald duck shirt but now my husband tells me he like the original one. he drives me nuts sometimes.

I got Mickey Mail! :banana::banana:

Its only our Magical Express tags, but still.. almost makes me want to pull out the suitcases.. I mean whats 35 days anyways?? :rotfl:

We got our package in the mail today too. The shirts I got are really cute. I lve the 40th anniversary t-shirt. I can't wait to wear it! Decorated mst of my classroom today, went to the pool, dropped papers off for kindergarten. I was a super charged woman today! Now I am just plain tired.

This is exactly my fear!! Chocolate, wine, any type of sauce, I am a klutzy accident waiting to happen.

One other planning tip I don't think I have seen listed here. Each person in the party always makes a bucket list, broken into Really Need, Would Like to, If we have time, O.K if you want too and Not on your life. We take all the lists and put them togather so everyone gets a chance to do what they want to.

Oh I love that idea! Thanks for sharing!
