Whew! I just read everything from 8/11 on! I've been away all that time and it is good to get caught up finally. It's like I really know all of you and I love hearing all the excitement. I couldn't resist replying to a few of you...so please bear with me.
:
Our youngest was 15 months last year on our trip. Whenever people would give me a hard time about her not "remembering it" I would say..."She won't remember me taking her to the park or zoo either...but she has fun and enjoys it in the MOMENT." And then they would look at me like this....

Hahahahaha!
:
I think this is the best response I've heard! Why should Disney be any different than anywhere else you would take your child?? I wish we could have afforded to take ours a lot earlier than we did! You go girl!
OH man it's getting so close.
We went to Dutch Wonderland (an amusement park geared toward small children) yesterday and tried out a few things we have up our sleeve for disney and it seems like our plans are going to work like a charm. it helps that DD3 is so easy going so it's not hard to derail her when she's on track for a meltdown. a simple reminder that if she's too tired to behave then it's time to leave for a rest and she perks right up lol. But yesterday was a good indication that our afternoon break for naps is going to be nessecary.
We tried out her ear protectors yesterday too. She has sensitive hearing and doesn't like things really loud so last trip she spent most of her time enjoying everything with her hands over her ears. so this year we are prepared. Youth sized ear protectors and a crafty MIL and this is what we've got (minus the goofy face lol)
She also surprised us with rides that we thought she'd be a little freaked out by (she's a very cautious little girl lol) and she ended up loving them and wanted to ride them again so now I think I'm going to be a little more daring with the rides we do at Disney with her

I think having her ear protectors (which she calls ear muscles lol) gives her a little extra courage to try things she might not have wanted to try otherwise
What a cute little girl you have! And what a great idea to "test out" the new ear protectors. Knowing what to expect makes things so much easier.
I get so aggravated with the "Disney again?" comments. We live in FL, and are APs (how could you live 3 hours away and not take advantage?) Everytime I say we're going up to Disney for a weekend or a week I get the "Oh, again? Why dont you just move there and get a job there" Why? Its what we like! When we lived up in NY, and our kids were babies, we took them every year and everyone would give us the same rolling eyes the kids are too small they arent going to remember it...NONSENSE! I have a problem with spending money to go on cruises to tropical places when I live in south florida-this whole place is a tropical paradise. I'm not paying to stay at a beach resort, when I live in a gated community similar to a beach resort. I'm a Disney buff, my kids love disney-my husband LOVES going to Disney.
We went to dinner last night with 4 other couples and the topic of our 10th anniversary came up and someone asked what we were doing to celebrate and my husband said we are going to 2nd honeymoon in Disney-and everyone went Oh, that figures...and it got quiet and uncomfortable. What is the problem? We are active people. We dont like to sit around and lay on a beach 24/7, Disney gives us stuff to do all day as well as lounge poolside. I'm excited everytime we go. No trip has ever been the same. Its different everytime.
I don't understand the attitude of so many people regarding Disney trips either! Imagine when it's just DH and I, empty nesters, going every year and getting "that" look! We don't even have kids to make it more legitimate in people's eyes!

But nothing keeps you young like WDW and DH and I really enjoy each other's company, so it will be Disney for us for a long time to come.
Hello everyone.. I have been absent for far too long
Anyway, glad to be be back on the boards and to see you all. We received our ME tags yesterday, but have yet to get our other documents. I hope they come this week and do not get lost in the mail forwarding!
Glad you're back, too, and congrats on the transfer. Hope by now you've gotten the rest of your Mickey Mail.
Thank you all for your positive words on my shirts. It's the first time I've ever done the freezer paper stencil and there are a few spots that acquired some paint that I wasn't wanting to.
I love them though, because I made them! I posted them on my FB and one of my good friends says, "cute, but I can't imagine wearing them in public!"
Well, that's nice because she doesn't have to. I AM!
Seriously? Wow! Those shirts are wonderful and I know you'll have so much fun wearing them. Good thing you have this thread to show people who can really appreciate them!
I'm popping in to say hi!

I had to make a change to our plans this week, and not one I like. My DH took a look at my tires last Sunday, and declared that I need two front tires and a front end alignment before we leave for Florida. I'm getting pretty annoyed that things keep going awry as we get closer to time to leave.

Since that took $400 right off the top of our budget, I've had to cancel our plans for MNSSHP. I'm bummed, until I think about the fact that we will be in WDW in 41 days!

I figure getting safely back and forth definitely trumps the Halloween party. I'm hoping everything else keeps bumping along so we don't have any more unwelcome surprises!
The five things I want to try in WDW are, in no particular order:
Turkey leg! (Don't judge me, I'm super excited!

)
Cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread from LeCellier
Tie dye cheesecake
Thanksgiving Sandwich (Earl of Sandwich, again I'm pumped!)
Banana bread pudding at Main Street
Is it time to leave yet?
Sorry about your tires and the cancelled MNSSHP. Read your later thread about the blowout...scary! Better to happen close to home for sure and glad you're alright!
As for the turkey leg, my DH gets one every trip! He loves them! You will not be alone in this! Also, the beer cheese soup and pretzel bread is wonderful! We always ask them to just bring pretzel bread and skip the other kinds.
I'm trying to figure out how much cash to bring? Would you just bring enough for tips ect and then charge the rest to your KTTWC? We are pretty much a cash only family. Dh does have a couple of CC so I could bring one. I would prefer to use that over my visa debit card.
We are cash people too, but we do put a cc on our KTTW card and then just pay it off when we get home. It saves having to bring a lot of actual cash. I'd say we usually only bring $200 to $300 or so for just the two of us for tips and airport food etc.
Everyone!
I started the list of ADRS. I am responding back to everyone at one time to say that any PMs as of 9:40 am this morning have been added to the list.

I will update it as more people respond.
We can add everything to the list. It doesn't have to be just food. So if you want to add dates for MNSSHP or BBB, Pirates League, etc., feel free to add away.
That's such a great idea! Love the list so far. I'm in Virginia visiting my daughters and will be back home on the 22nd. I will PM you my ADRs when I get back home to my notebooks. Thanks for doing this.
I would ABSOLUTELY start another thread if its needed. I will for sure be around until EVERYONE from this thread is back from their trips and I've heard stories. I have been with this thread for this long, I will not leave any of you now!
I know that I'll be doing a trip report when we get back and I would love to be able to share it with all of you. The DIS will allow us to have another thread, so that is not a worry.
I'm kind of hoping that just because our trips are over in September that everyone just doesn't disappear. I'm kind of hoping we can keep some sort of group going, just as friends wanting to keep chatting about life and WDW. I would definitely offer up my time to hosting a thread like that too.
Thank you for being so great at keeping the thread going and being willing to start another one!

I love your idea of keeping the group together! I can't wait to read everyone's trip report. I have never done a trip report, but may try one this time. I think this group has a lot of diversity and we can help each other with different things that may come up in life. Without the judgement found so often elsewhere
As for the love bugs, we've gone several times in September and haven't really been bothered by them. We've noticed them a time or two, but not really anything that annoyed us at all or made our trip less enjoyable.
