September 2011 Check-in... Dates and Ressies?

Just booked three nights (September 24, 25 & 26) at the Disneyland Hotel with DVC points! It will our first time back at Disneyland from Virginia in almost ten years.

So excited! These three days are actually the tail end of of a longer trip that begins with three days in Vancouver followed by a cruise down the California coast. Can't wait...

How exciting! Hope you have a great trip. :wizard:

vakamalua: I hope you have a wonderful time. It really is interesting to see how much it has changed when you haven't visited in a while. Hope you have an amazing, magical trip!

Thanks 6Smiles, I didn't notice the refurb list. That's really handy. :)

I'm trying/hoping to use the new discounts but I'm guessing the hotels are all full for my dates due to the marathon, but big grats to those who were able to use them and save some money. Always a good thing!

:goodvibes

DW and I will be there 09/01 - 09/05 DLH. Can't wait! Long time WDW goers going on our first trip to DL! Should be fun comparing/contrasting the two. :cool1:

With the new summer/fall offers..... we moved to Paradise Pier at the same cost as Candy Cane Inn.

I just changed our ressies too!!! I had us staying at the BWPPI. Now we get to stay at Paradise Pier and we get the character meal for free! We were already thinking of maybe doing a character breakfast so that is a definate plus! :woohoo: But the best thing is I am actually getting $116 back for changing over to PP! :woohoo::woohoo:

I am so excited. The last time I stayed at the Paradise Pier was with my Mom 8 years ago. This is the first time since then that my mom is coming with and we will be at the PP again! Yeah! :dance3: Happy Dance!!!

Sooo excited!! Our first trip ~ staying at VGC Sept 18 - 23 for 30th wedding anniversary

Here is the link to the official Calendar Official Disneyland Park Hours

Kris

I just checked the official Calendar. Though this will be our first trip to DLR together I did get a chance to visit for one day two years ago when out in LA visiting our DS. I have been telling my DH, who's all time fav ride is Pirates, how much better the one at DL is. I was devestated when I found out that Pirates and Blue Bayou would be closed for renovation. I knew this was possible but wish it had been any other ride but Pirates. :sad2:

Now I can't find anything showing the times for WoC the week we are there. There are no times on the official Calendar. Does anyone have any info on this?

We check into the Grand Californian on 17 September for 8 nights before cruising to Mexico on the Wonder.
Really excited because the new hotel discounts allowed us to upgrade to a theme park view.:banana::banana:

Thanks so much! Can't wait to see all the changes; hope we get to do the new Star Tours.

Thanks for welcoming us! We are DVC Members (Beach Club @ WDW) and are very excited about coming out to the "original" Disney! We have always wanted to come out west but the opportunity never came up. We are from Ohio and going (just the two of us) for our anniversary and I can't think of a better way to do that! It has been very interestsing as to the laid back attitude on these boards as compared to the WDW boards. You seem to have that southern California style of going with the flow which is a vast difference from the "run, run, run" flow of WDW. I think that has a lot to do with size but also the attitude of the people. Thanks for all the info that we newbies have absorded from all of your experience. You are a great help! :cheer2:

HI! We're on the Sapphire with you; recognized the name from our Princess Roll Call. Looking forward to this trip and, of course, topping it off in Disneyland.

Small world, eh? Not sure how much Disneyland time I'll be spending after the cruise since I'll be going earlier in the month, but hopefully it'll be a bit less crowded this time around...

Congrats! The wife and I will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary at the park on Sept 19th (we spent out 1st at WDW) :thumbsup2:

Congratulations! We Honeymooned at Disneyworld back when MK was the only park. :earsboy: Ours is the 20th. Really looking forward to experiencing the 'original' Disney Park. Kind of disappointed that the Blue Bayou will be closed. That's where we planned to go for dinner. Any suggestions on where to go?

We were actually planning on the same thing until we saw the rehab list! Haven't really looked into a plan B yet, but will always take suggestions!

Congratulations on your first trip and VGC. Happy Anniversary! I know it is disappointing about POTC and BB but there is so much to do. Pirates is easily my favorite "family ride", so we share in your disappointment. Disneyland is magical and makes you feel like a kid again. The DCA events as well as WOC have not been added... my speculation is they are waiting to see how the if and when they will begin the Halloween version.

Hi Goofy4Pooh and Dink37,

General consensus is Napa Rose if you like expensive gourmet, Steakhouse 55 if your a Meat and potatoes kind of people, Carnation Cafe Soup and Sandwiches or Cafe Orleans if you want similar food to Blue Bayou. Check out Allears.net for menus and general prices.

We are also going for our anniversary and are planning on celebrating at Carnation Cafe where the Baked potato soup is yummy. :)

Wine Country Tratoria or Ariel might also be options if you want to get preferred dining WOC standing spots.

:goodvibes A couples trip to celebrate your Anniversary :woohoo:. My best advice (for what its worth) is to enjoy your special time together and soak in all the magic and details on Mainstreet and in the lands. There really is so much to look at. Bathrooms are different, lampposts are different, weathervanes, windows, Walt's light on upstairs in the Firehouse, the flowers and foliage are just so beautiful. I wish you guys a :wizard: magical trip.
