This is what the CM told me to do last time (she said it avoids confusion on their end, and as of several weeks ago is not "against policy." It worked out well then, so it might be worth a try:
When you call in, don't tell them you want to transfer a reservation to someone else. Just say you want to change the name and phone number on the reservation to someone else in your party. Give them the Disser's name and phone number.
If you're trading reservations, have that other Disser call in and repeat this, saying they want to put a different name on their reservation. Then they will give the CM your name and phone number.
Then get on here and let the other person know what the confirmation number is (it will stay the same from your original reservation).
I don't know if that's what you all have been trying, but it worked really well last time I traded with someone on here. Good luck!![]()
My DD today asked if we could go to Sci Fi! Does anyone have a ressie available on 9/20? Time doesn't matter and table size can be for 2-3-4 people. I have a Cape May to trade for this that is around 5:00-5:30-ish.
I am also looking for a Garden Grill ressie for 9/18. We are currently booked at 4:30 but really need something later...maybe more around 6:00-ish. This is for 3-4 people.
Thanks!!
I have learned (from a WDW CM, of all people) to not change the number of people in the party as the system only allows a certain number of tables in certain configurations. If the ressie being transferred to a smaller party (such as 4 to 2), just keep it as such. When the party checks in, they should just say the other members of their party couldnt make it. A few months ago I had a CM at City Hall in MK make me a ressie for dinner that night at Artist Point. He said all they had available was for a party of 4, but we were only 2. He told me to use this method upon checkin. All was fine. And we were seated and served.
I'm sorry to hear you were forced to cancel a ressie by the CM. Sounds like they were short on pixie dust tonight down there.
I just tried to transfer one of my dining reservations to another disser and the CM would not allow it. I was a party of 4, and they are a party of 2. I originally asked what would happen if not all members showed up and she said we would not be seated until then. So I asked to change it to a party of 2 and she said the first avail table for a party of 2 was 9:15! My ressie was for 5:10. Said they wouldn't waste a 4 top on a 2 top. She wouldn't let me transfer and made me cancel. She said "I see you have another reservation for WCC also on the 14th, but at 6:35. Which reservation would you like to keep". (Which I just got this afternoon and was waiting to hear back to help another member)
They gave me no choice but to cancel the reservation and would not allow me to transfer it.
Just an FYI for all of you trying to transfer...And I apologize to the person that I could not help out.

That makes me nervous. I have a Le Cellier reservation that is for two more in our party--but a CM actually booked this for me without me realizing. I was under the impression we had a party of 2 reserved, until I called back one day to confirm all my ADR's and they said "Le Cellier for a party of four." I was thrown for a loop on that one, but I didn't think anything of it since a CM had booked it that way without our knowledge. Now I'm going to be really irritated if they refuse us because we are 2.
I dont mean to be a ..... *ahem*.... I know that is what this board is for. Im just seeing some people with multitudes of ADR's, same day, same times, all over the place....
I dunno.... if this wasnt done, this thread wouldnt be necessary.
Again - I admitted to being crabby today.![]()
Looking for Yak and Yeti for lunch on 9/24 for party of 4. I have a Kona cafe at 605p on 9/20 that I can trade.
Overall our ADRs are all set but we do have a couple of hiccups...
our ADRs @Le Cellier on 9/9 and @Tusker House (Donald's Safari Breakfast) 9/10 are both for four people and there are five in our party...we are hoping they will be able to accommodate the extra person, I have unsuccessfully tried to secure a table for 5...I have received mixed feedback regarding this...some people have said no problem, you may have to wait a few extra minutes to be seated, others have said, no way...![]()
I will be cancelling these and thought I'd see if any of you needed them first.
