I have been away from the boards for a long time!!! Hope everyone is doing well. I can't believe we are so close to vacation!!!

Would you folks please stop talking about pizza in front of carb starved me? Another 2 whole pounds gone this month! I suffer for each and every ounce.

My bil took my dh for a couple of days so that I can get the yardwork and housework done. I love my bil. (in a platonic way NOT a Jerry Springer way)

The birthday cookies went over well. No crumbs to bring home. My big bag of veggies are gone as well. Hungry folks at bowling today. :thumbsup2 Tom loved the Mickey Mouse bowling ball.

The roofers are back and should complete the job this evening. I am cooking for them and about half the neighborhood so I had best check on things.

The days are passing by quickly!!

I have to tell you, I love the way you write! It cracks me up!

Linda definitely cracks me up too!

I find the days were going a lot faster with the kids home arguing! ARGH! What am I to DO??? LMAO.

One cool thing- I can now see the first day of weather for our trip on the accuweather site. Not that it will be accurate 14 days out- but hey!

Hey girls....Just stoppin in to say Hi! Long time no post - I know!:confused3 Just been busy with PTR and getting things ready to go. I hope you all are doing well! We are getting so unbelivably close:woohoo: Any one getting the WDW jitters?? I am...been so nervous~ just worried about what COULD happen, and hoping that nothing goes wrong on vacation:confused: Iv been waiting along time for this just want it to go as smooth as possable- ya know.
Anyway...hope all is well with all of you!:flower3:

2 weeks to go! I should be packed by now. At the very least, I should have suitcases laid out in the guest bedroom and stacks of cothes to wear all around. I have none of that. The only thing I've done is pack all of our Halloween costumes (dresses, accessories & shoes) into one small suitcase. I've purchased a couple of convenience items and they're upstairs. I just have way too much to do between now and September 11th. I don't know when I'm going to have time to pack!
I'm hosting a bridal shower & then designing flowers on Saturday. Sunday & Monday we're going to Great Wolf Lodge (indoor waterpark/resort). My daughter starts school on Tuesday and has a couple of doctor's appointments on Thursday. Oh wait, dance classes start next week too.
I think I'll have about 10 minutes to pack on Sunday, September 9th. I should put that on my calendar!!

We are planning to come by the pool Wednesday night (I think) to meet some of you guys. I see that you'll have Mojitos. We'll have margaritas on the rocks & Vodka Collins. Hope to see you guys there!

NEW QUESTION!

Okay, so I DON'T have tickets for MNSSHP- I know- I'm a horrible Dis'er, eh?

I'm thinking- $200 for tickets, PLUS money for costumes- UGH!

Is it really worth going to? Do you think it'd be worth going to, remembering that we will have a not yet 2 year old (he'll turn two the next day- my baby is growing up sooo fast!), a 7 year old and an 11 year old? Don't you think they might be bushed already by 7 PM?

I'd like to go- I'd just also like to save the money. I have a few stray thoughts in my head about this- on one hand, we don't get out to WDW very often- this is our first FAMILY trip. OTOH- is it worth the cash? LOL!

Input, gals!

Folks, I swear this is true. My dd whom I love more than life itself is not similarly enamoured of me and has recently set me down and earnestly told me that I am NOT funny. Her youngest son, and my soul mate, have come up with a plan. I have started carrying a piece of paper and each and every time someone tells me that I AM funny (and it happens more often than not) I have them sign it. Not sure how many pages I have so far. dgs has told me that it probably will not work since dd has NO sense of humor and he has suggested that we get her one. I have an odd sense of humor that I inherited from my mother who was one warped woman.

DisneyAprilFool, I sent you a PM that might help you decide.

Mom2Evie, the problem with packing so far in advance is that you end up with nothing to wear for the next two weeks. I put out my suitcases, pack the bathroom bag with all our necessities, the medical bag just in case of emergency and all my Disney stuff and then just before we leave when I do the last laundry THEN I put the clothes in. The hardest part of planning is the list so I just keep a Master List that I use for each trip, only have to change the count of how many outfits etc. :dance3:

heath-and-javens-mom, I am old enough to know that there is always something that goes differently than planned and MOST of the time it ends up being the highlight of the trip. Even the stuff that seems bad at the time becomes fodder for future tales and well worth the experience. Tragedy plus time equals comedy!

Roof done and paid for! Yeah, now I can start to obsess about the next home improvement. Unfortunately this one will require MY handiwork. Shucks!!:scared1:

Slightly (understatement??) Goofy/Linda

oh, goodness, how did I miss this thread? (I've been hanging out on the boutique thread to much!) We'll be there in five days! Look for our lime mickey's!

For me personally I can't justify spending that kind of money on a few hours of fun. I think the ticket price is outragous. But then again I'm sure that if I wnet once I would fall inlove with it.

OMG....look at my countdown....I don't have anything done yet...not one single thing! I will be rushing around Thursday night before we leave. This is horrible...I need a swift kick to get me moving:rolleyes1

Hey gal where oh where have you been hiding????:rotfl2: I thought we had :scared1: you off:confused3

I have been so busy with work and trying to stay sane while my hubby is going back to school I haven't had much time. But now that vacation is around the corner it is time to get back into planning mode. I have missed this place.

You couldn't :scared1: me off you guys are really the only ones who appreciate my Disney obsession.

glad to see you back in the grove of things

DisneyAprilFool, (love your name), the sad fact of life is that what many take for my dark humor is the reality of my life.

Back to the coal mines for me. Have to make hay while the sun shines and it is sure shining hard here. The other day I took a sip out of a cup of iced tea that I had left in the car and darned near burned my mouth! Now that is hot. I do not weed my flowerbeds anymore, I dust them. :scared1:

8-9 days to go!!:cheer2:

I wear suits to work each day and for WDW I'll be packing shorts & t-shirts. I'll pack a couple of lightweight dresses for our dinner reservations. I could easily pack my clothes and my daughter's now if I could only find the time!!!

I really do like your idea of a master list. Normally I'd have long since made a list of what shirts, shorts, dresses & shoes I'd want to pack. This trip... nothing, nada, zip! What's wrong with me!! I might just repack the items I took on our July vacation.

See you guys in 13 days!!

Mom2Evie, I bet you REALLY enjoy vacation and not having to wear dressy clothes!! I would. Of course I never dress up anyway. Wearing shoes is a formal occasion for me.

Packing is easy for me. I just put at least 10 outfits, slacks and tops on one hanger as I usually have them in my closet, keeping them on the hanger, fold in half and stuff in suitcase along with the same amount of underwear and something to sleep in. DONE!! If I am just doing a few more days I might increase the numbers so I do not have to do laundry but I do not own 24 outfits so laundry will HAVE to be done this trip. :laundy:

I might just repack the items I took on our July vacation.
Sounds like a plan to me!
