September 2, 2012 - Magic - NYC to Canada

OK...I think we have a few of us with the bug!! :lmao:

I was actually thinking last night how fun it would be to have a "Photograph Scavenger Hunt"!! Maybe we can come up with a list of things for us to take a picture of and when we get back we can share our pictures to get each unique perspectives. Something like, 1. A photo of the Magic in NYC 2. A Photo of the Statue of Liberty taken from the ship 3. A photo from the Sail Away Party ect. Then, when we return, we can post one picture a day starting with #1 until we finish our list. Tell me what you think!! :goodvibes

Sounds like a great idea!! :thumbsup2

Hi, everyone! My name is Tammy and I'll be sailing solo. So far I've been on one cruise but by the time it comes around, it will be my 4th :rolleyes1 I'm thinking I should buy some Disney stock since it appears I'm trying to single-handedly keep them in business!

We just returned from a trip to Hawaii. While there, we visited the new Aulani resort on Oahu and got to tour part of the grounds and see a couple of model rooms. Very beautiful and impressive facility though its not anywhere near ready for occupation yet. We had to wear coveralls, helmets and safety glasses just to enter the building and weren't allowed to take any photos.

The Aulani is located about 1/2 hour west of Honolulu Airport (Waikiki is about 1/2 hour east of the airport) in a complex with three other resorts (two owned by Marriott) so they share some of the same amenities (golf course, restaurants, stores, etc). Its right on the beach though we weren't allowed to visit it.

We decided we needed to return to Hawaii and stay at the Aulani.

Its just waiting out there for you to show up!

Lots to do in Hawaii and the weather is usually great every day (though we had some major rain during night we arrived and one morning we had an occasional light drizzle - which doesn't stop anything and most people didn't even bother with an umbrella). Otherwise, every day was good for laying on the beach or by the pool, sightseeing, or whatever else pleases you.

This was my 5th trip but the family's first. I was originally planning to go to the Big Island but we ended up staying on Oahu since they hadn't been there. Still had a great time. We're seriously thinking of returning in a few years, perhaps to do a cruise around the islands and stay at the Aulani before or after. This way I can see all the islands and we can also stay at the Aulani which really impressed us. All DW needs is a beach and golf course and the Aulani provides that.

Hi everybody. My husband (csharpwv, 30) and I (29) will be on the cruise as well as my parents. Hopeing to get some other family to join us as well. Chris and I live in West Virginia and my parents live in Pennsylvania.

We are so pumped that Disney is sailing out of NYC, we just can't wait. This will be my 3rd Disney cruise, my husband's 4th and my parent's first. We are also part time disney travel agents so hopefully we will fill the ship with DIsney fanatics!!!!

Anyone thinking of doing FE's?

Welcome.

On the first page you'll find a list of everyone sailing and those who have indicated an interest in participating in the FE. You can also scroll back a few pages and see the discussion on how we should conduct our FE since we now number about 50 staterooms and are still almost a year out from sailing.
