On another note- would you change from a verandah to an inside room if it would save you 2400.00? Robb and I are debating this...we have never had a room without a window- but 2400.00 is almost a whole cruise!! What do you think campers?

Celeste we had a verandah on our first three cruises and then for the last two we have had a cat 9 on deck two. Cat 9 is great and we save a ton of money by going without the verandah. Remember that there is a heck of a verandah on deck 4. Mike

Welcome to the very debate we had. The difference between inside and outside will cover our onboard account plus some. The difference in price was a no-brainer for us. We were trying to figure out if we'd miss the ability to look out and see daylight. We decided that most of the time we are in the stateroom is for sleeping or watching a movie, both of which required we close the curtains.

So we decided inside. We decided on Cat 10 because the split bath. I'm not sure I can give up the split bath. We may take a 3-day this fall in an inside just to see if our theory is correct.

Wow, going back and re-reading this makes me realize that a bathroom is more important than a window. How funny.

Yes, I told Robb that there was NO way I would change rooms if it there was not the split bath. I still can't decide what I really want to do, because I like sitting on the verandah early in the AM or late at night. BUT, the difference in price is usually what we spend on stuff.....the craziness. My poor TA.

The decision is to be made today....we'll see what this crazy woman (me) decides....in as the cruise turns.

CELESTE: I have to agree with the majority about changing to an inside room to save money. We have had a balcony once and although I loved it, I would much rather take more cruises in a less expensive room. We got two of the Secret porthole rooms on this one. I love them because you pay inside price and get an obstructed window view.

RANDALL: I am with you on the split bath issue. Even when it is just my DH and I alone in the room I have to have a split bath. When we cruised with NCL this past April, there was no split bath.

TERI: Emily is as cute and fun as ever! She is now talking up a storm!

Okay...DU gave me a deadline of last night to make the reservation.

Of course, I couldn't NOT make the deposit. I always do what I'm told!

As of now, Michael and I are joining all of you fun loving people!

SSSSH! Don't tell Michael, though. I'm waiting for the buzz to wear-off from our Costa Rica trip before I tell him. When I brought it up the other night, he said "Laurie, there is no way we can take a trip in September, we just got back." I told him not to worry, it wasn't until 2006! His birthday is next week and we are going to Las Vegas to celebrate, I'll pop the news when we are at Treasure Island AAAARGH!

To all the 14-nighters we sailed with.... we're back!!!!!!!!!

Adrienne and I broke down and booked this one with you. We are in 2550, next door to Elaine. We downgraded from the Navigator's verandah - back to Cat 9. Realized that, while I like light and such in the room, I almost never went outside.

It is still tentative. We will reevaluate as we hit July next year to make sure we an still do it (with work, etc).

But we both so want to go!!!!!

Scott & Lynn - I keep threatening to send Adrienne up to you for Scuba lessons. But she still isn't sure about it.

Tony & Adrienne, welcome!!! Glad you are going with us also. Where did you get Stitch? That is so adorable!!! Did you make the outfit yourselves?

Stitch belongs to some very good friends. She is a Stitch nut, and brought him along last October on a Western Cruise, with all of these different outfits. Well, they could not join us on the 14-night repo cruise, so Stitch came along in their place.

The costume in that photo we had made for him. I bought some of the fabric from the ship at auction, so we had the vest done for him. The rest of the outfit came from Build-a-bear.

Here are a couple of other shots of him:

We tried to have him match the servers or the theme nightly.

He had his own seat at the table, and always got his own menu.

Ours is on the left - we met his cousin onboard.

YEAH! So glad to see you are joining us. I'm now debating if I want to save the extra $$ and downgrade to a Cat. 9. It would make a big $$ difference and then I could book another cruise!
