Kitster, that wall hangie thingie is pretty KEWL.....

Leslie is a trip to the Bahamas for 9 days on a 65 foot ketch, a Valintine Present, that is what I am getting Lynn, I also got a whole bunch of girlie bath stuff. That should cover it for me.

Can not wait to get out of the cold.

A big thanks for the newsletter to editor Tracy and all of the staff writers. I was really enjoying the article about diving until I read about SHARKS!!! I do appreciate all of the information provided as I have not been to any of the islands we are visiting (with the exception of Castaway Cay).

Welcome to our new cruisers and I am sorry to see some of our group cancelling.

Hi Lesley

The key word there was "SMALL" sharks.

Since I suffer from sharkbitealimboffaphobia even the little ones scare me.

Here's a story from my past. When I was 5 years old, my grandparents took my Mom and I to Hawaii. Our hotel had a koi pond where you could feed the fish and put your hand in the water to make them swim over to you. I think I made my Mom take me to every feeding. We have pictures of me hanging over the railing so that I could have the koi kiss my finger. Another hotel that we visited had a pool with little sharks in it. Just as I was about to put my hand in that one, my Mom yelled at me that the sharks would bite my hand off if I tried to touch them. I was terrified of sharks after that. And because I associated sharks with pools, I refused to swim in the pool for about a year after that. Here is the funny part, I grew up just a block from the ocean and went in there every day during that year. I didn't realize that there were sharks in my ocean and no one in my family told me the truth. :confused3

The moral of my story - little sharks still bite and don't tell your kids things that will scar them for life. :teeth:

I just got around to reading part of the newsletter. I see that Tracy had mentioned having the party in the Milwaukee area, I do not object to this. I had not read the newsletter- so I did not know that it had been mentioned.

I am more than willing to plan something for Milwaukee or Chicago, or where ever. I live an equal distance from Chicago or Milwaukee- roughly an hour from either. Once again- makes no differnece to me. I could think of great things to do in either city. It also does not have to be on the dates I mentioned- but if it was to be at my house, that is the only date I could do. But we could also meet at an independent place. If we did an independent place- I am open to more dates and times.

(Unless people want another meet in July when we are down in the WDW area at the Beach Club.)

Could people please post their preference for a city- then we can finalize info like date and place after that point. Tracy and I want to do whatever is best for everyone and would draw the greatest crowd.

Once more people post their preferences and we settle upon everything, we will put together an "e-vite" for the party.

My only preferences is that we could ask people from the May repo to come as well- even if they are not coming on this cruise.

Celeste

Ahhh Milwaukee. Hometown of my favorite 'rassler' The Crusher.
But my vote would be for Chicago, simply because it would be closer for me. More options.

Don't worry - no sharks in the tank at Epcot - well, except for Scott. :rotfl2:

I am sure that we will be driving so Chicago would be closer - unless we take the ferry across Lake Michigan but that really doesn't appeal to me and I also don't think it would save us much time. If you all decide to do this over Memorial Day weekend we won't be able to go as that is DH's family reunion weekend.

Hope everyone is having a good week - welcome to our new posters. Michelle - always great to see another Buckeye!

Just noticed on another thread that Susan Egan (Belle on Broadway) is scheduled to be on DCL on 9/25. Went to her website and it states she will meet up with the ship in Antigua. I really enjoyed her show on the August repo cruise and am hoping she will be on our 11 day cruise. Anyone else heard anything?????

Carol

Peter,

Proper protocol is Phins Up in a designated Buffett Zone or dive adventure, i.e. the little latitudes, Paws Up would be applicable to the AK or similar environ. :lmao: :lmao:

I went to her MySpace page and saw the same info. It's strange though, that she's meeting up with the 10-day in St Kitts on the 14th. The 10-day cruise doesn't go to St Kitts. They're in Antigua on the 13th, then 2 sea days, then CC, at least according to the itinerary up at Disneycruise.com. The 11-day is in St Kitts on the 24th followed by 2 sea days and CC.

I do think it will be cool if she does 2 concerts on each cruise though, like her website is suggesting.

I thought the info on her MySpace page was a bit confusing. It mentioned something about Antigua being our last stop and I think we go to St. Kitts after that, so Antigua is not our last stop. Maybe they have the info switched. I guess time will tell.

Someone mentioned snow a few days ago.

Today is day 113 (last rain was Oct 18th) without rain here in the Valley of the Sun. The old record was 108 days.

The temperature today only got up to 86 degrees. We are in the winter season aren't we?!!

Sorry, it may be really hot during the summer here, but our winters are perfect. The girls even went in the pool this past Saturday.

Better put on a Jacket LOL :lmao: :lmao:

26 here today.. :sunny:

We are looking at sub zero temps here.

You guys in AZ need some relief or the fire danger is going to be, or should I say already is pretty bad.

A cruise question. How much does beer cost on board the ship? DH is getting shipboard credit for Valentine's Day and I want to let him know how many beers his credit will get him. ;)

We too are having warm weather this week - 80's almost every day. And since the media announced that we have prime fire conditions, someone started a fire in Julian last night. :guilty: At least it is mostly contained today.

I think I may head to the beach at lunch today. I need sand for DD's message in a bottle birthday invitations. We are converting our back yard to Lily's Island Getaway.

Leslie, I seem to recall the best deal on beer was to get the mug, refills were larger and cost the same. Also I think Heineken was the same price as domestics. Sorry can't remember the cost. Wish they had a mug deal for rum drinks.

Backyard plans sound great. We are off to MIA tomorrow morning then over to Grand Bahama, I am ready for this trip. My shoulder is healing nicely, I think I have avoided the knife. We will see how the progress goes. Excited about this trip as we will be diving in some new areas. If the weather hold true to it's prediction we might get over to Abaco and might have to try and find the sunken sub off Castaway Cay. Also I will diving with a tropical dry suit so I will be toastie warm. Looking forward to Lobster a very fresh fish.

Will check in as I can from various internet location.

All you folks heading to DL have a great time.

Are all your cruise buddies invited? I promise not to bring any sharks. :teeth:
