Hello everyone, man if you get behind a little it takes forever to catch up.

I had a bad night last night. I volunteered to cover for a fellow coworker who was sick. After about an hour into the shift I get a call that one of my workers that didn't show up, was being sent to the hospital. A hour and a half later and several phone calls to boot, I find out that he didn't make it. The sad part was I couldn't tell anyone because they wanted to bring in the greif counselors first.

Now I have to shift gears and get ready for my 20th high school reunion. I will be traveling back to sweet home Alabama to see old friends this weekend. I can't wait, then it will be serious cruise time.

FYI

For anyone who has not made plans yet or has just added on to this cruise, there are 6 spots available on the Thriller Turtle & Shipwreck Snorkeling Adventure in Barbados.

Currently the tour is set to depart @ 12:00 pm but if we can fill the 6 spots then we can adjust the start time earlier in the morning, perhaps 10am or so which will give us more time in the afternoon to check out the town, the Boat yard or other local beaches or some of you have expressed interest in visiting Malibu Rum!!! pirate:

Tracy and a few friends as well as the pirate clan from Cucamonga will be joining you so this could be an all DISexcursion

Here is the info provided by the tour operator...

btw, for those with smaller children, they did not charge us for the 2 1/2 yr old so that could be an added benefit :thumbsup2

PM me if interested

==========================================

Tour Info Webpage

Here are the stops on your 3 1/2 hour Thriller Turtle & Shipwreck Snorkeling Adventure.

1. Sea Turtle Snorkel.
2. Coral Reef Snorkel.
3. (2) Ship Wrecks Snorkel.
4. Beach Stop.

A total of 3 snorkeling stops & a beach stop.

Thriller Ocean Tours

Our Turtle and Ship Wreck tour is 3 1/2 hours long, we take you along our islands golden coastline to the Turtle Cove where you can snorkel with the endangered sea turtles and watch as they are fed. From there, we then make our way south to the Historic Carlisle Bay which has crystal clear water and wonderful white sand. This snorkel spot is intriguing as you can snorkel over 2 large sunken ship wrecks with schools of colorful tropical fish. Then it’s off to your 3rd stop at one of Barbados most beautiful beaches.

We now offer on this tour an additional NEW Snorkel stop our "Coral Reef Snorkel"

Snorkeling gear, snacks, refreshments soft, beer and rum punch are included. The tour is $45.00 U.S. per adult and $30.00 U.S for Children 12 years and under.

Directions to our boats Gunner Too & Thrill Seeker:

As you exit the cruise terminal, ask for the Bridgetown shuttle which cost only $2.00 U.S. per person. This will take you to Broad Street, which is the main street of Bridgetown our Capital, there are many stores if you need to do some shopping.

There are lots of taxis at the cruise terminal & they charge $3 U.S. per person to take you direct to the Waterfront Cafe in Bridgetown, this might be the easiest way.

If I were you I would just take the taxi direct to the Waterfront Cafe & our boat is in the water by this popular cafe. (Don't worry you can't get lost it's a really small town)

We need you to be at the boat 15 minutes before scheduled departure, the boat is located in the Careenage in the center of Bridgetown, opposite the Parliament Buildings. Take a short walk across the bridge with the arch and we are on the right by the popular Waterfront Café.

Additional Info

You can pay when you get to our boat Visa, Mastercard credit cards, travellers checks & of course cash whichever you prefer at the time.

Not sure if you are ealy movers in the morning but if you wish to come to our boat & see where it is & familarise yourselves with the area you can then do a bit of exploring the shops in Bridgetown or walk over to the boat yard beach only 5 minute walk from our boat.

You really won't need a map once you get to our boat at the Waterfront Cafe you can ask anyone how to find the boat yard. The local are very friendly & it's a very safe island.

If you are interested in rum there is the Malibu factory & the Mount Gay Rum visitors center.

It might be your first visit to Barbados but I'm sure it won't be your last, so much to do & the water is agua marine color & the snorkeling is a blast especially the sea turtle stop.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate contacting us again.

Hope we can make our Thriller Turtle & Shipwreck Snorkeling Adventure one of the highlights of your Cruise Vacation.

Best Regards,

Stephen Tryhane

Actually, no one was required to do anything. But on the May Repo cruise, it ended up that everytime you returned to your stateroom you had "FISH MAIL". The name came from the FISH outside your door that we hung our extenders on.

It was quite fun. Everytime my mom came back to her stateroom she would look at what I got and then say "well I hope I got that too". (She was right next door).

Alot of times things showed up in your fish mail and you didn't even know who left them and I think in some ports people picked up some inexpensive items and delivered them to us while some were planned beforehand.

It was a blast. I'm trying to figure out if I can get both my "fish extenders" hanging from my fish

ok time to add the Dis claimer to page 1 post :lmao:

For those of you who know your Alabama History: I am from Sin City USA

For those who don't: I am from Phenix City Alabama.

Look it up CaptainCrash. you'll enjoy the story behind it, plus it will give you something else to post about

Butlersdidit: So sorry to hear about your coworker. You and your fellow workers will be in my thoughts.

Phoenix City? I'm trying to remember where in Alabama that is. I'm up north in Huntsville.

Capt'n...you can use your fish extender outside your cabin (hanging on the FISH) to give your Disboard friends a way to leave gifts. Or you can utilize in your cabin.

When we traveled on the May repo cruise (when we got all of those goodies) we didn't want to lose our fish extender (we forgot the ziptie!) and just kept it in our cabin.

As for where all of our loot came from...well, we had quite the group on the May repo cruise (similiar to this one!) and some people decided to give a "gift" to our disboard buddies or "lanyard people" as we came to be known. The gift was in no way required. It was just that, a gift. As Elaine stated, we got so many fun things! We all enjoyed coming back to our cabin throughout the day to see what new goodies were left for us. Just two weeks ago, I found a bag that Webray (Bob & Cheryl) gave us on the cruise. We plan on using this trip! :grouphug:

I hope I have explained this okay  .

Laurie...you summed it up nicely!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

For those of you who are going on the Cosol Tour, I have e-mailed the owner once again, today, to let him know what we do not get into Port until Noon (which he knew already)

and

to additionally let him know that we will be leaving Port at 7 pm and not 9 pm.

Since this is not a DCL sponsored tour, the ship WILL NOT wait for us.

Just ASA I hear back from him, I will let you know.

A couple of you have PM'd me already and I thought I would post on the thread so that eveyrone would know what the latest is.

Okay, gotta go over to DCL and see if I got upgraded to the Walt Suite.... :thumbsup2

I know exactly where that is! They have a great Home Depot, and a few of my brothers friends live there. Nice area, close to Auburn, but not TOO close

Linda...more pockets does not equal more gifts!!!!!

I remember when we boarded the ship for the Repo cruise it was after 3 pm so we went to our stateroom to drop off our bags before heading to the sailaway party and we found our fish extender already hanging from our fish and it was totally filled with stuff including a t-shirt that Robin (moocow35) had left for me....our stateroom host told us were we really popular because we had lots of little gifts....it was fun to come back everyday to see all the little (and sometimes big) things that appeared in our fish extender....Craig, our stateroom host, also got into it...if he saw us in the hall he would tell us if we had mail before we even got to our stateroom!!!!!

P.S. we must have been very lucky...no zip tie for us and nobody even touched our fish extender!!!

Geez, you would think that they would upgrade their "unofficial cruise director". But NO..............we are still in the same stateroom 2534. No changes for us.

I'm just a Disney Dreamer!

I have PM'd everyone that is involved in the Palo Brunch for the group.

But thought I would post on the thread also.

I have pretty much arranged for the private room on the 25th and 26th, as those involved know. There are approximately 30 people that were interested and they have been notified.

I hope I have the names of everyone that wanted to go, as I never did get the list from Sunshine56. Thanks to those who did PM me.

It will be approximately 10:30 am on each day, that we will have our reservations.

The CM said she is almost positive we will have it, as no one else has requested it. But she will get back to me by the end of August with a definite "YES".

I understand there will be a "farewell luncheon" on one of those days. Hopefully it will not interfer with the Palo Brunch.

When it is DEFINITELY confirmed with me I have a note to put in everyone's fish extender so that you will have the date in writing and hopefully not miss the date and time.

If anyone has any questions, please ask away
