I love jewelry. What girl doesn't? DH just bought me a new sapphire ring a couple of months ago. It's a rare sapphire and I just love it. He spoils me so.

Catherine, I look at it this way. If we can't fast forward time, then we'll just have to deal with it. Besides, next week the month will be half over and next Thursday is the one month mark and that month will definately fly by. Although I seem to remember that there is someone who is cruising before the rest of us. Who could that be? :confused3 :lmao: You need to see if they'll just let you leave your luggage at the port when you disembark the Magic, they won't even have to hold it 24 hours and it would save you the hassle of having to lug luggage around.

I have thought about that Emily!! But then I would have to do laundry on the ship. As it is now, we can do laundry in Orlando Saturday. More time to enjoy the ships!!

Ok, since all anyone else has come up with is Club 33, here are some other thoughts:

For in park, the only PS's you need are for the Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans. I really recommend Cafe Orleans - they just turned it into a table service restaurant, and added a Three-Cheese Monte Cristo (Swiss, Mozzerella, & Triple Creme Brie). Heart attack on a plate :faint: :faint: , but sooooo good!

As for out of park, if you want an excellent dining experience, try Napa Rose, at the Grand Californian. Not cheap, but ranked as the top restaurant in Orange County by Zagat. :charac2:And that is saying something. Plus, Michael Jordan, the manager of Napa Rose, will be the guest chef on our cruise!

The only other locations you might need a PS for would be Storyteller's Cafe and Hook's Pointe. Both are good, but missable.

That Monte Cristo sounds amazing. Heart attack on a plate indeed, but who cares. Looks like I need to make a trip out to DL sometime soon. :rotfl2:

Good point. Besides, who wants to go on vacation to do laundry, what with the activities onboard, the food, the drinks... oops, lost my train of thought, too many drinks. :lmao:

My PDA looks like a rainbow and I'm retired. What is wrong with this picture? :confused3 I can't move without it. I think it is my age. I can't remember anything. That's how I remembered we are going to the jeweler today :rotfl2:

I can explain this one: I have no life :lmao: I drive back and forth across the country every week so I can pay my house off in an estimated 7 years and then maybe work another 7 years then I can retire. Maybe I will have a rainbow palm pilot then :lmao: ps- I'm 25 and already suffer from CRS. :rotfl:

:teacher: :teacher: Math Alert :teacher: :teacher:

I was playing around with the recommended tips that DCL lists for the 3/4/7 day cruises to calculate the 11 day tips. (And I checked my math because it worked out to $120 per person and I rebooked this cruise under a special rate that required tips to be prepaid and DCL charged us $120 per person.)

Thought I would pass the $$ amounts along to anyone like us who likes to pay cash and get them prepared ahead of time. (Just so you don't think I'm  , we have a second cabin that the tips are not pre-paid.)

For the whole 11 night cruise, it breaks out like this (per person):
Dining Room Server: $40.50
Assistant Server: $29.50
Head Server: $10.25
Stateroom Host: $39.75

(Sorry if someone else already calculated these out but I've been trying to catch up on this thread for quite some time!)

This is great to know. Can we call DCL and prepay our tips? :confused3 That would be one less thing to worry about when you get on the ship! We always pay at the end of the cruise but it would make me feel better to prepay so we do't spend too much $$$ on the ship! Thanks for breaking this down for us. I was wondering how much to pay. :thumbsup2

The Cruise Packing Gods have smiled on me today. When Ken asked about swimming out to the Serenity Bay Wreck , I thought KEWL if the tide is high and it is covered I can just use the GPS to locate it. Then it hit me, while my GPS is waterproof, I like to swim with it in a waterproof carrier and even put it in a zip lock bag before the waterproof carrier, I thought oh no the water proof carriers are in a box in the garage. Now a box in the garage has a whole, new meaning here. Ya see as our house is on the market ready for sale, we are being good real estate clients and packed up all our clutter (junk, but our junk) and packed it away so when the house is shown it is more open. It was my stuff and I knew where the stuff was.

Well having dreaded going through a whole bunches of boxes that are located in a 12’X20’X9’ stack o boxes to find the GPS box o goodies, I relinquished my thought process to I am not going to buy another waterproof carrier, I got one, and I will find it even if I have to go through ever packed box. It was to be my evening project, or morning project.

Well the realtor calls and wants to show the house, panic clean up starts, while putting up my work out clothes, hiding them in a fold down desk, what should I find but the water proof cases. Life is good …..

Tipping: THANKS CLTEN much appreciated.
Tips on DCL are really easy, just charge them to your room, I like to get this done a couple of days before the rush at the end of the cruise.

You can always call the cruise gift line and give yourself on board credit. that way you know it is paid for. we like to do that when we figure out how much our spa and excursions will be, so all in theory we would have to pay for are drinks and souveniers

Great idea! I think we might do this! We just have a budget to stick to (renovating our house) and we ALWAYS go over budget on DCL! :thumbsup2

Has anyone read Peter and the Shadow Chasers yet? if so did you like it? I am going to make this one of my cruise books and wanted to see how everyone else felt about it.

Congrats on showing your house! We moved into ours over a year ago and still have boxes to unpack. Now my lunatic dh is talking about sticking a 4sale sign in the yard to see how much we can get for our almost renovated home.

Ken,

Would you please post the address for shipping stuff to the ship. I recall one needed to put a sailing date and stateroom number on the package. Thinking of sending some stuff to OKW and some to the ship.

Dan and Scott - KEWL deal, congrats.

Well...

... seeing as my spouse is NOT here to read over MY shoulder .... and as I boast (probably regretfully as SOMEONE is sure to talk about this with her on the cruise...) we've been in our home about 10-11 years and we STILL have a few boxes in the garage that remain to be unpacked. Plus a few years ago we unpacked a box that was filled with... garbage. DOn't ask me how THAT happened! But it did. FOrtunately, it was not FOUL garbage - just papers and such (as I recollect).

Oh... and did I ever mention her yougurt that I found in the fridge? It had expired ... in 1999. Truth or fable? U tell me!

I went to Chadwicks.com last weekend and picked up a new formal for $20.99!!! It was $29.99 and I found a coupon online for 30% off. :thumbsup2

Tracy,

Just had to let you know I had that beat. I got one formal for $15.00 before taxes at a high end resale store and another $179 formal on sale at Pennys for $12.82 with taxes. Couldn't have been more surprised or happier. They were just what I had been looking for too.  :cheer2: :cool1:

Great deal! Now I had to go out and buy a new pair of shoes because I think the skirt on the new dress is too long for my other shoes, and my other shoes are not that comfortable anymore. I found a sale at Fashion Bug. My dress shoes were $13 and I also found some black flats for work for $6 :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Tomorrow I'm going to start organizing my bin of stuff into stuff to be packed in luggage, what's being sent to the ship and what's being sent to my twin

Bill has to work all weekend on a major computer upgrade at work so I got the weekend to myself!!

Thanks Tony!!
I couldn't decide between Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans...thanks for the info!

As for the Napa Rose, I thought that would be a good place for Michael and I to do alone...the kids can order room service (they'll love that more anyway!).

Thanks again!
