Celeste,
Sorry was teaching Module 4, all done so here ya go.
Wetsuits are very individual as to what one needs, I am a ninny and wear a full 5-4-3 in the Caribbean . The torso is 5mm, upper arms and thigh is 4mm and 3mm further out on arms and legs. Lynn almost always wears a hood to keep heat in. I would rather be warmer than cooler. A 1mm is ok as an under suit when you need the extra warmth or if the water is really warm. The pool you learned to dive in was probably about 75-80 degrees. Use that as a gauge. Water in the low 70s now finds me in a dry suit. The other consideration is how many dive do you plan on doing per day, the cumulative effect of the water conduction of your body heat can be felt over multiple dives.
September should find CC pretty warm like low 80s
Just doing a couple of dive a 3mm shorty would work, if you are cold blooded, go full 3mm. Check out Divers Direct, their Comp suits are pretty good.
Hope this helps. Lynn is a Divemaster and I am a MSDT. LOL
Leslie, I think the Flying D will be there for quite a while, and should be there in Sept for our visit. I think Bob would have a more definative answer, slow post LOL gotta be quick here.
Kay thanks for the update.
