PLEASE call your cell phone companies! Our dd on the 10 day 04 christmas cruise talked up a storm on almost every island because she figured if her phone worked, it was free! (or within her plan) $1100 later we were feeling the bite, as was she- dh made her make payments until it was paid in full! Poor child cried for days thinking dear old dad was going to cut her phone off. He figured a better lesson for her was to pay her bill that she made for herself. I think it took her a year to pay us back. I almost passed our when we got the bill! Who knew a girl could send so many stinkin' text messages! I laugh about it now but it was not very funny right after christmas and a major vacay.

How long have you lived in Huntsville?

Huntsville native, born and raised here. Would like to try living somewhere else one day though. DH & I want to move to FL one day, but hey, who doesn't?

Captain Crash, looking at that much math just made my brain hurt. :rotfl2:

Where are you now ? :surfweb:
We are at our terminal in tunnel hill, GA- just minutes from Chattanooga. Our company has a pretty nice building in Chattanooga (corporate) but they send us to this yard in backwoods GA. We used to be able to just walk into the CEO's office and chat if he wasn't busy. Then our company became a "BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY" and now that place is tight on security. We are headed out of GA to go to Kansas, then on to LA (ugh). Then we will be back in Sacramento to pick up our usual run to Wisconsin-Indianapolis-Maryland-Jersey-San Francisco-Sacramento all over again. We will do that until we go home to go on this cruise. I am unusually chipper about going back on the road this time as I know we are headed home to go sailing with Youse Guys!! pirate: pirate: pirate:
I have another joke (and obviously too much time on my hands)
What has 8 legs and 8 arms?
8 Pirates!! pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

You may know our dear friends by an unfortunate tragedy. The daughter of the woman (dh's friends wife) is the family who had the child die from E-coli several years ago in atlanta at the water park. Several children got sick, including a Braves baseball players child, but she was the only one to pass on, bless her soul. She was on Oprah and everything, it was a very sad situation.
I also want to move to FL- but if I can't move to Celebration I AIN'T MOVIN"! Wonder what they would think of the big truck parked in the yard? They would probley have us kicked out of the neighborhood! That is my dream, to move to Celebration, get a job at disney with dh driving the tram at epcot and me announcing and navigating. We work well together.
We looked at houses in Guntersville before we bought in my hometown. We almost moved to a house on the lake but then my brother and his wife found out they were expecting and we decided to stay closer to them. I love being able to keep my nephew when we are home, and if we would've moved away it would've been harder. For some reason I think if we moved to FL near Disney we won't have a problem getting people to come and see us

Updated floor monitor list:

Floor Monitors so far:

2- Aphoenix (Tony and Adrienne)
5-
6-
7- Bluewaves (Linda and Brian)
8- Tigger&Bubba (Dianna and Lamar)

Peter, one more thing to add to post #5! HA

OK, this is a new one to me. What do floor monitors do? Make sure we're all in by curfew?

Bluewaves, I am now a proud owner of a Blue Bubba Keg, with my vast FL lotto winnings and the help of Leslie, DPD. Now to come up with a Bubba Keg carrying strap.

Got my Jammies ordered yesterday.

Gotta run, my patient is rolling down the hallway

Oh Oh a runaway patient.

Hey Alex would you like we to try and get a distance on that trek for ya via my GPS programs??

PIT those are pretty good. Thanks.

Off to walk the dogs, wow we are a busy little group.

Tried to do the Deck 5 Volunteer Monitor but ya gotta be quick here.

Peter Larry the Cable was at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

I think we've got the best prices on Bubba Kegs here in Napa. Both sizes were $1.00!!! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, they didn't have the 52oz in dis green, but they did in the smaller size. If anyone wants one for a $1.00 in any other color, let me know!

Did anyone see this?? I saw it on another board
it is very interesting

620 pts, Feb Use Year
Winner must assume unpaid mtg of almost $30,000, pay 2006 Maint fees and about $3,000 from 2005
Can't use/assume it for 180 days (not sure what's up with that)
Apparently DVC is sending someone to the auction - they probably have no ROFR standing on this one

Well...

... assuming you picked it up Sept 1st of '05 and todays' Aug 2nd... that is 336 days dividing 201,545 .... which comes to 599.84 miles a day including today! Diving that by 65 mph that implies you worked that puppy 9.23 hours a day ... everyday. Thats' not counting holidays, cruise vacations, maintenance (which probably was scheduled during your vacation) and pee breaks or illnesses.

So - the daily average was probably 5-10% higher on the actual days employed!

Amazing!!!
That's just about right except we picked it up Sept 23rd last year, and we take almost a month off for christmas usually. We drive 6300 miles a week. Very good calculations though, my dh will get a kick out of it! We rarely ever get sick as we live in a very low germ environment ( i'm a compulsive cleaner so is dh so we are constantly orange cleaning the floor in here as well as clorox wiping all surfaces) so we avoid sickness. My hubby's motto is "If I'm not dead, I'm not sick" and we rarely ever shut down EXCEPT for colossal snow storms.
Our company leases these trucks for 4 years @ a limit of 500,000 miles so we have to turn them in for someone else or we will put too many miles on them and then they'll just sit until the lease is up. The most we have ever put on a truck was 360,000 miles in a little over a year but we were buying a house and stayed out working for 6 months straight. That's one way to save $$$ though. I'll never do that again but man our bank account was pretty!!

Captain Crash, looking at that much math just made my brain hurt. :rotfl2:

Sorry ....

... never ment to cause anyone any grief... tell ya what... the next time I do anything like this again I'll post this here warning sign so folks can skip reading and take a breaK!... :lmao:

sign.jpg

Either that or I'll cut the math and just post a one liner.

I know how ya feel CapnCrash. I have been rather chatty today for some reason. Maybe its because I'm bored, and anxious to get to work to make some $$$ to spend on this cruise!!
My posts have been rather long today, maybe I just need to stick to one liners!! :rotfl2: Hope I havn't made anyone's brain hurt with my trucker rambling on. I am sitting in the old truck while dh is in the new truck checking it out. I just don't have anything else to do but talk to mi 11-day friends! :grouphug:

PIT: I think I do remember that story just vaguely. It would have been nice to have a house on the lake wouldn't it, but the nephew is worth the wait. In a few years he'll be pushing you to move to Celebration and then you won't be able to get rid of him. :rotfl2: We want to move to Destin, up in the panhandle. We love it there and spend at least a week there every year, sometimes more than that. Maybe one day I'll get my house on the beach, then I'll just have to worry about one thing: Hurricanes. :guilty:

Hey, don't worry about it. Just joking with you. :teacher:

We were supposed to get married last sept in Destin on the beach but then "Hurricane Gussie" as my 89 yo great uncle Tommy calls it (katrina) hit and my family in medarie and Bay st louis were devestated. We canceled our large wedding and eloped. I love the destin/fwb area as well. Dh has never been there but we plan to go in the future. I like going to the Redneck Riviera (Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach). I would love to live on the beach. I remember only a few years ago you could get a nice place in Gulf Shores for decent $$$ but now prices are SKY HIGH!

DH and I had our honeymoon in Destin in '03. We also thought about having the wedding there, but since all of our family is here in Huntsville it was just easier to do it here and then take our honeymoon there. It was just beautiful. It was during the fall and DH surprised me with a beach house all to ourselves.

A wedding there sounds beautiful, but depending on the time of year that is always one concern you have to be prepared for. Sometimes I think eloping can be one of the best choices you can make.
