I also know that the first timers are nurses (OB & nurse anest.??)

Don't know as I have enough interesting cruise related things to post oce a day but ten will be difficult.

Newsworthy to me today - my son that went to Europe with Michigan Ambassadors of Music two weeks ago gets home tonight! They have already landed in Detroit and are bussing their way back up to Cadillac. I can't wait to hear the stories.

Cruise related (sorry gang but Drew had top billing today) - the Secret Mickey signups have slowed down so if you have not sent me a PM (not tracking through posts) with your information you will miss out on some really great fun!

We intend to be off the ship early and walk about 20 miles on CC. We walk at a pace of 4 MPH so it should be a nice 5 hours walk. Anyone who would like to come along, let us know. We plan to walk from the ship to family cove, down the air strip, and down the roads behind the adult beach and then back to the ship. Alex

OK - this doubles what I expected from myself.

Eco Tour - I contacted them and BOTH excursions are full which really makes me feel good since I begged them to open for us on Saturday (a day they do not typically do tours).

If you are on the Eco tour and have not let me know, please do as soon as possible so I can update the list. I do think that I have missed Tony and his group for the Circumnav.

Ok I can take the 5th floor, just tell me what all to do. We're in room 5636, unless of course we get an upgrade, lol. This tag game sounds like alot of fun, I can't wait, sign us up.

Lastly, I'll work really hard on the post. I'm one of those guys that reads these boards all day long, at work, at home, at the beach, wherever we are, I just don't post very often. But I'll set my goal for five a day and see if I can work up to ten.

Looks like we picked the perfect time to do the eco-tour on CC. I'll fall off my jet ski if the REAL cap'n jack shows up.
Anyway, I can assist with multiple posts as I am back in action on the truck now. We are currently in Chattanooga picking up our brand new truck. Our company only lets us put around 200,000 miles on a truck before they take it from us. Just to give you guys and gals an idea of how much we get around- this truck had under 30 miles on it when we got it last september(05) and we are turning it in today with 201,575 miles on it. Do the math, that's a bunch of miles! Atleast we get another shiny red new one to drive! I just hate changing all of our stuff over (refridgerator, microwave, XM radio, etc.)
We are headed to Kansas after we get the new truck, so wave if you see a big red truck.

How do you think I became the keeper of the cell phone list?? It just happened and all of a sudden I started getting cell phone numbers....which I will compile & email two weeks prior.

HEY T- here is a tip for the newsletter and everyone reading right now...
Did you know that many of the cell phone companies with "nationwide" coverage will allow you to call home from St. Thomas without roaming fees? I know Sprint does- or atleast they did with my husband's plan. I think T-Mobile may as well.

As far as Cingular goes, they don't. I was there in June an racked up a lot of charges - Boo Hoo - didn't realize it fully until I got the bill a few weeks later. At least with mine there was a charge and I have u/l anywhere. :confused3 :confused3

Maybe I'll give them a call this time and just check

I thought they were both funny but I have a pretty strange sense of humor sometimes.

Pretty in Tink: those are cute and funny. You guys probably drive through Huntsville quite a bit don't you? I'll keep an eye out for a new shiny red Mack truck, it is a Mack right? I know my trucks, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, etc. Dad wants one with a lowboy one day to tow his bulldoser that he wants one day too.

Be sure to honk the next time you drive through Huntsville. :thumbsup2

Cell Phones - call your cell company before leaving so you are aware of the charges. I use mine in Canada without any problems (well, bill isn't here yet so we shall see) but would not even attempt to use it on any island we are visiting without calling first to verify and ask if there are any known issues. I also seem to remember reading here (just general DIS board) that someone had problems with their bill when they got home because somehow, someone picked up their information and used it for making calls, I even called my carrier (CellularOne) before we cruised and they recommended I not use it.

Just be an informed cell phone user - call your cell company and ask.

We have very dear friends that live in huntsville! My dh's best friend for the last 20 yrs (they served in the navy together). his name is Mark and he is a physical therapist. We visit often, though not really often enough. Our new truck is a Volvo, though our company drives peterbilts and freightliners (or freightshakers, as we like to call them). We drive for USXpress Enterprises out of Chattanooga, TN. You've probley seen our big red trucks roaming around. We have terminals in Oklahoma City, Sacramento, Colton, CA, Lincoln, NE, and Somewhere in Ohio- I can't remember right now where. My BIL drives a low boy in Jacksonville, FL hauling around construction equipment. There is a lot of $$$ to be made that way but very long hours!
We'll give a honk next time we are through there. We will be coming back through right before the cruise! I already have stuff packed!
How long have you lived in Huntsville?

Well...

... assuming you picked it up Sept 1st of '05 and todays' Aug 2nd... that is 336 days dividing 201,545 .... which comes to 599.84 miles a day including today! Diving that by 65 mph that implies you worked that puppy 9.23 hours a day ... everyday. Thats' not counting holidays, cruise vacations, maintenance (which probably was scheduled during your vacation) and pee breaks or illnesses.

So - the daily average was probably 5-10% higher on the actual days employed!

Amazing!!!
