Hi everyone,
Well, surgery is over, and the actual surgery went ok. The anesthesia part was a nightmare, they almost admitted me to the hospital because my oxygen levels were low. LONG story!!! After approx. 8 hrs, they sent me home on oxygen and we had to get a pulse oximeter to check my levels. My husband had to wake me up every 2 hours to make sure I was getting enough oxygen. More to it, but that's enough for here. I went out today for dinner, so hopefully things are going the right way now and that's what I am going to concentrate on now.!!!!! I have a plate in my arm that goes from my wrist approx. 6 inches down my arm. Recovery and therapy will take a long time. I really appreciate so very, very much all the support from all my Panama cruisers who are some of the nicest people I have ever met!!!!! And I also cannot thank enough my new friends from this cruise who have been so nice and supportive to someone you haven'y even met. I have no doubt that this cruise will be very, very special, and more enjoyable than the Panama cruise for me and my husband.
Debbie, you were talking about chocolate covered strawberries for the champagne girls--which I want to do this time, so please count me in--when I hurt my arm, the one thing I wanted most was chocolate covered strawberries. Greg went all over the place trying to find them for me. He finally talked to someone from the chef staff, and they arranged some of them to be delivered to us at dinner the next night. So, maybe we could put in a special request???
Again, many thanks to everyone for all the thoughts. I am going to concentrate on therapy, so that we can enjoy this cruise!!!!!!!!! Vicki
